It's plastic free July and I wanted to talk to you about baby fashion and just how overwhelming the waste in this department is! . .
... . An estimated three billion nappies are thrown away every year in the UK, accounting for 2-3% of all household waste, according to #recycling charity Wrap. . .
From clothes to nappies, we have gone mad with providing our precious little ones with wardrobes that burst in seams and waste that will still be waste when their great grandchildren reaching retirement age and no one remembers us...! What a carring gift, don't you agree?! Excuse the sarcasm,but when we stop and think for a moment, this is pretty poor. Don't you think? . .
Finn, just like his older brother Ethan are in reusable nappies, wear mainly preloved clothes and I'm proud of it. I wish we'd all love an eBay bundle or a charity shop haul as much as I do! And there is nothing to be ashamed of. Recycling should be seen as the most natural and logical thing in life, so all I ask you, is to stop and think what changes you can make to minimize waste. Carrying a reusable bag/collapsible water or coffee cup/buying pre-loved (whatever it may be) really doesn't require a lot of effort but the results can be fantastic!!
Now, back to the reusable nappies... I'm a big fan of @babaandboo so if you have a little one, check them out. even if you'll use reusable nappy occasionally, that's a start... they look so darn cute on those even cutter bums and are so much better for babies' skin. No nappy rash, skin can breath and the pelvic is better supported. Potty training is much easier after using #clothnappies too. Plus, the colorful designs will defo bring a smile to bum changing task! What is not not love?!

I feel like I'm back in the world of living... ☀️☀️ Finn is now 5 weeks old and I've started to get in to proper clothes this week (as supposed to PJs 24hrs a day!), had my hair and nails done and had the best gift of all from my little man... I was super lucky several weeks ago to be chosen by @samanthacusicklondon as a model for one of their Beyond Balayage training/workshops! . . . @laurenalroads did my hair and OMG... I can not tell you just how happy I was with the end result. Weeks on and I'm still in no need of touching it which is just amazing! ... . . . Having been blond for over a decade (with some minor disasters along the way), I've been to more salons than I can remember and although mostly had good experiences, this time, I'm totally convinced that I found the one! Something has to be said for it, as they are on the opposite side of London to me BUT it's super worth a visit! . . . Make sure your hair colour is right! I feel like I've completed something today! Seen my last colour client before my maternity and although I'm going to be missing the buzz I get from this great work, I'm ready for a break.
