Matt found the high spec. Canyon Speedmax CF 8.0 with £450 off in the END OF SEASON SALE. He was left confused using the online sizing tool recommending either a SMALL or MEDIUM frame size. Using the Retul Muve SL we could replicate both small and medium frame sizes and test them with the Retul 3d Motion Capture. From the motion capture data we could identify the Small frame was able to get Matt into the desired triathlon cycling position. Matt could buy with confidence and saved time and £££. Gary increased his training to climb Alpe d' huez and he started to experience pain in his right knee. Using the 3d motion capture it was possible to identify oscillations and excessive lateral knee travel. His Trek Madone's geometry could then be replicated on the Retul Muve SL and adjustments made including a reduction in crank length, shoe and pedal interventions. Changes in body position generated by the adjustments could then be measured with the 3d motion capture until the oscillations and lateral knee travel were reduced to an acceptable level. The data from the Muve SL was then applied to his Trek. Gary's knee pain has disappeared and he was the first person from his club to the top of Alpe d' huez.

So this position and the results interest me.....

At 6ft 5in Chris Hartley is not an average sized cyclist. Using the Muve SL and 3d motion capture we could try and find bikes in the market place and try different components such as saddles, until we found Chris' perfect ride. Because we don't sell bikes we found a frame reduced in Canyon's factory outlet section and Chris could build his new bike on the new frame with a combination of new components and components from his old bike. We tried out the bike he had already lined up to buy on the MUVE SL, but as you can see it is too small.
We were able to replicate different bikes on the MUVE SL until we found his best fit bike, a Canyon Ultimate CF in XXXL.
... Fortunately there was a frameset in clearance and a saving of £800 on new retail.

John Bradbury's UCI Compliant 20Km TT position for the European Champs in September. Getting into a good position with the tip of the saddle 5cm behind BB and the bars no further than 80cm in front of BB is a challenge. The ISM saddle helped keep KFF and hip open whilst keeping the back angle as low as possible for the short course. Hip to elbow a little too compact for my liking but what can you do with BB to bar ends at 78.5cm?

The great thing about bike fitting is that you get to meet some amazing people, like Kieran Murray. Not put off by metal plates in his neck Kieran is cycling from London to Paris to raise money for the St Elizabeth Hospice. Not a conventional road position but it will get him there.
