First time visiting this pub with my wife and 2 very young boys. The food was good value for money and the team seemed very upbeat. A Very Busy Venue that still provides excellent customer service. I will be back in the near future.

A friendly restaurant with great food! All the staff canŌĆÖt do enough whenever we go there and make extra effort for our autistic son who hates eating out unless itŌĆÖs at the hungry horse with specific food. They change the food to his needs and always seat us where we request so that he is comfortable!

We are up from Wales on a weeks holiday and called into the hungry horse (the roaring donkey) for lunch we had to wait about 30mins as the restaurant was so busy, when the meals arrived they were hot and very tasty. The staff were very helpful and the Irish manager couldn't do enough for us,the welcome was excellent and we will definitely be the eating there again before we leave for Wales ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

Very good value for money, generous potions, steak cooked well, accommodating staff. Awesome Irish owner. Would recommend for families

We decided to book in for Sunday roast for today and we were all gutted

It looked great on the plate but the meat ( beef & chicken ) wasnŌĆÖt nice at all and no stuffing wasnŌĆÖt worth the money.



Definitely recommend the main menu but not the Sunday roast

Had an amazing curry Wednesday night with my better half..nice atmosphere and friendly staff..downside-as soon as you walk into the restaurant you smell urine coming from the men's toilets-very off putting

We have been many times, and enjoyed, but on Sunday we waited to be greeted at the door to be seated, for sometime, we had booked a table, bar staff could see us but didn't even acknowledge we were there. Eventually manager came and took us to table, very noisy in the conservatory. We were told it would be a hour wait, which it was a bit longer than that. Food was very good when we did get it. We did hear people complaining about the wait, seemed very short on staff. We had desserts, didn't have to wait long, I did however order Lemon meringue cheesecake, which was lemon meringue pie, I told the manager and he said yes it was pie as they sent the wrong thing, think we should have been told that when we ordered. I would still go again though, we have been many times food has always been good. Maybe too much choice on menu which causes delays in the kitchen.

I was disappointed to see the big plate curry had been dropped off the menu plus as it stated free pud I was again disappointing to see you only had three options. This restaurant used to be fab but has gone downhill.

I found the restaurant to be very untidy and all the tables had left over plates and glasses left on them the young man did clean the table we sat at . The food was very dried out as we are over 60 it was a shame we felt very disappointed.

Worst place ever! After being stuck in a corner With no space with a 1 year old with a buggy and a 4 year old and 2 adults being told we canŌĆÖt have the chairs round the table because people want to walk past so cramped together we saw a table with space and asked to sit there the lady said thatŌĆÖs fine then we sit there for not even 1 min and a man comes over and says why have you moved here I sat you in the corner so we explained there was no space he walked off .... waited hour and half for the food to come out for the kids meals to be frozen ! They took them back and brought new ones out to still be solid and cold they took back a second time to bring the wrong food out so asked for a refund of the kids meals .. so as we leave to get the refund the man at the till turns to my friend and says ŌĆ£ŌĆØ IŌĆÖll warn you not to do illegal dealings in the car park. ŌĆ£’┐Į well that just topped it off as she went out to the car just as we arrived to collect the bill money off her fianc├®e to actually pay for the meal as we said that to him he changes the story and pretends he didnŌĆÖt say that and just said it looked dodgy weŌĆÖve never been so humiliated in-front of people ever !!

Went yesterday as people said it had improved. Well it hasn't, friends onion rings were black, how or why they were still served is beyond belief!! Other friends popedom tasted stale. My jkt potato was a frozen tasteless one, the chilli con carne tasted ok but looked like dog poo and like half of the portion was missing. Waitress was really helpful, changed onion rings and told me that everything is Pre portioned, ordered an extra topping it seems that one was just poured over original so jkt potato was cold!! Won't be going back there !! Bitterly disappointed ’┐Į

Unfortunately my family and I went to The Hungry Horse in Holland on Sea.

We arrived at 6-15 pm and received our 5 meals at 8-40.

All of our meals were either cold or inedible we complained to The Manager .

We are very disappointed at our overall experience and would not recommend this venue to friends or family .

Took a friend and his wife here today , should have known better!! Ordered cod and chips , cod batter looked a few hours old and fish was grey inside, went home with that familiar stomach ache and a trip to the toilet, during the service their a waiter dropped a pot of mayo on the floor in front of my 81 year old friend and left him to clear it up, yes the food comes out fast but once you've seen it and eaten it you know why, won't be entertaining that place again, I'm really worried about my friend as he has a long journey home, just hope he has cast iron guts.

Poor welcome, cold or stale food, wait is far too long. Feel sorry for the staff the CEO of this franchise really need to make some improvements all round. Have been here (not out of my choice) over the past 7 years many times but have never had nice food. Such a shame for a really lovely location, could be a great family venue.

Omg, if it was the last place on earth. I'd die hungry!!!

Been here many times and never had a problem. Today was another story, ordered starters which only took 10 minutes to come out! FAB!... then sat and waited over an hour for out mains which were two burgers... watching everyone around get served, went and asked what was going on to be told they would find out... no one came. 20 minutes later we ask again to be told that our food would then take another 25 minutes!!! It was 2 burgers for Christ sake. Got our money back for the mains and left! Not impressed at all.
