We went for a belated Father’s Day lunch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming without being in your face. We chose from the grill menu and the food was sensational. Would happily recommend it to family and friends.

User

We decided on the spur of the moment when the spot we were originally going to go to was fully booked to have a steak. We hadn't booked, had to wait 10 minutes to get a table, but didn't mind. Well, went for a sharing steak - Porterhouse - wanted medium rare but it was a bit more to the rare side, but did that matter? NO!!!! It was beautifully cooked, the sirloin had that firmness in the mouth, but was almost as tender as some so called fillets I've eaten. The fillet was sooooooo tasty having been matured and cooked on the bone, and was melt in the mouth delicious. We snacked on olives waiting for the main, so do good. Can't fault anything, great service, quality food and seriously full tummies.... Can't wait for next time!

Treated to Birthday brunch and bubbles by my daughter and son in law and.......it was amazing. Beautiful surroundings, beautiful food, amazing bubbles, attentive waiter thoroughly enjoyable experience......... didn’t know designer John Amabile was a door man there......he was a gentleman and opened the door for us!!! Will definitely be back!!!!

User

The food which was delicious, was served by friendly efficient staff! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely establishment to all my friends and family.

User

Thanks to all the lovely people who gave that little extra so that everything was great! They even prepared a birthday plate for Ilaeira!

User

Great atmosphere, service and food and can be seen by the number of graduates that were there for lunch.

User

Fresh oysters (natural) fabulous and aged steaks the best in Glasgow. Architecture of dining room stunning too. Oh and one more thing, cocktails are superb - I recommend French 75

User

Four of us had dinner here on Saturday night and I cannot recommended this place enough. It's the staff who make is special - they are so customer focused and incredibly welcoming and friendly - nothing is too much trouble. The food is AMAZING! We all agreed they were the best steaks we had every had. Cannot wait to go back. Well done Hutchesons!!

User

Fantastic food and even better service, very allergy friendly and accommodating. We will be back and will recommend it highly.

User

Excellent cocktails and steak dinner

Waitstaff were efficient and enthusiastic.

Overall great dining experience!

Attended another Veuve Cliquot Brunch event as part of Hutcheson’s Summer Series. Food and Service was fantastic from start to finish and the entertainment is top notch.

Eggs Benedict is by far my favourite breakfast and in here, it’s totally scrumscious.

Can’t wait till we get along to the next one!

User

Was there with 3 friends for set menu lunch. Building is outstanding and atmosphere, service and food were all really good. We then went downstairs to bar. Several tables were available and we took one. After one drink the waiter then informed us the table was reserved from 17.30 and we would have to move/ leave. As we did not intend to be there much beyond this it was not really a problem but I have to say I found it a bit cheeky. The table was not reserved when we sat down so what is the criteria for deciding our money is not good enough and someone else should usurp us? Just a niggle on a perfectly pleasant afternoon otherwise.

Had lunch at Hutchesons on 6th April 2018,with 2 others.Welcome was top marks.Shown to table on 1st floor (lift available).Lovely environment, staff very attentive top marks.Starters lovely, main course I had ordered steak medium rare which it just managed to look at it you would have said burnt.Although it was medium to rare quite tough, also £3 supplement for steak on set lunch menu.Other mains top marks.Sweet Top marks.I had cheeseboard again £3supplement slightly spoilt by a very hard cheddar, cheeseboard served with a honey syrup delicious. Why do restaurants offer a cheeseboard with a supplement,a practice I would like to see done away with.Overall this was an excellent experience just let down by a few faults.

User

Was absolutely brilliant food and staff were lovely, but we got told a steak would be round about £80 mark and when checked the receipt when we were home we was charged £129 for it which is well over priced and also noticed we got charged £10 for the bread and butter that is supposed to be free.

User

I have to say that the service was extremely poor when we visited for lunch this week ; in that we were sat in a lounge area with no atmosphere and the worst lift type music ever , where the staff seemed almost frightened to approach a table .

They all hid out in a corridor outside .

It was difficult to get anyone’s attention , and when they did enter this very small room to bring food to a table , they walked straight back out without making eye contact with anyone at any table , or looking around to see if anyone needed anything.

Waiting times were Massive , we even had to ask if someone would take a drinks order as no one had approached us . Said drinks then took about 15- 20 mins to arrive and only did so once we reminded them Again . Certainly they offered to deduct drinks from bill , but that’s an easy option , when it’s not your profit margins being affected .

Isn’t it much easier just to provide excellent customer service ?

The place didn’t seem busy . There were probably more staff in that corridor than diners I’d say .

The main restaurant was closed, they said - Yet our friends ate in it about an hour after we left.

The starters arrived , and we had to search around for salt and pepper .

None on any tables , and none offered to us .

Again we had to ask , but had to try find a member of staff first .

The wait for mains must have been at least a further 20 mins after starter .

The food was OK . Nothing special . Couldn’t have complained, but not blown away either .

For the prices on lunch menu , it is safe to say that a higher level of service is to be expected . These are just basics in the Restaurant industry .

So for a mediocre experience , even minus a round of drinks we were still £70 lighter and we all said we wouldn’t rush back .

When we left , all the corridor staff seemed to be hiding again, and no one thanked us or said goodbye .

Very disappointing for a place that I guess classes themselves as one of the more superior dining experiences in Glasgow .

We moved on to The Citizen for drinks and coffee , and the difference in staff attitude was noticeable from the minute we walked in .

Smiling, attentive and caring .

User

Been a couple of times previously and been impressed by food and service. Not this time. The food was fine but appallingly overpriced for what we were served. £7 for a starter that had 1 piece of cauliflower!!! The chatrebraund served looked nothing like previous pictures on this thread. It was very small and blackened on outside. Unlikely to return.

User

We had a really unusual and very disappointing experience from a place we go to regularly

We took friends here thinking they would be impressed , were a party of seven and placed an order at the bar

As part of the order we asked for a glass of chardonay and a Cuba libra

We were told that they only did chardonay by the bottle only so we agreed to a glass of Sauvignon blanc

When we looked at the receipt we had been charged £12.00 for the glass of wine and about £10.00 for a mojito.

We asked for an explanation and they said that £12.00 was the price of the wine and that the Cuba libra didn’t show as such on the receipt but a Cuba libra was a double measure which had not been explained to us

Feeling really conned what a let down from a place that is normally really good

We won’t be back

User

Food and ambiance were incredible. The building is incredible and well worth a visit. One of the nicest steaks I’ve had, cooked to perfection. Only thing that let it down was the service. Our table wasn’t ready on time, however this wasn’t a major problem as the other couple were running late, but if they’d have been on time we would of had to wait. We were then told we only had the table until 8:30, we’d booked in for 6:30. At 8:10 we were told we had to move so they could get the table ready again. I guess that’s understandable however the restaurant can’t have it both ways. We just felt our business wasn’t as important as the table that was before us or the table after us.

User

Used to be amazing, went back in after the worst meal thinking brunch may be better. Got served under cooked pancakes and eggs and cold coffee. To add to that avocado mix filled with coriander with got told was pre made and couldn't be made fresh. Bill got cleared and staff were apologetic but not really good enough considering we all left hungry. Such a shame such an amazing restaurant before.
