Lord Alistair Wallace
Lord Wallace lost his father to a pistol duel when he was 10 years of age, a trauma that resulted in the young boy’s lifelong scepticism towards the gentry. At the age of 20 Wallace fought in The Battle of Trafalgar, where he was injured and rescued by a fellow naval officer, Lord Charles Pinkerton. This ultimately initiated a close relationship between the two. Charles eventually died in a house fire. The childhood trauma, the war and a loss of his frie...nd eventually caused Wallace’s withdrawal from the social circles.
Protective, enigmatic and crafty.

Henri Pinkerton

Coming from one of the most powerful families of the time, Wilbert Digby was raised to master the arts of warfare. His father, Sir Gilbert Digby was awarded The Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, by the Prince Regent King George IV, for his services overseas. Digby is a man who is used to giving orders and taking them poorly. Confident, arrogant, spoilt, a man of few words.

Granville Shelby
Granville Shelby is a right hand man and Lord Wilbert Digby’s second. Having been in Digby’s ‘shadow’ for a long time, he is displaying some of the traits of his principal. On the day of the duel, Granville Shelby is the one who arranges the rules and conventions of the duelling code and is very confident in his principal’s victory. Arrogant, subservient, a type of a ‘vulture’ who strikes from the back only when own safety is secured.

Jack Whittock, The Doctor
Jack Whittock is a long-time friend of Lord Alistair Wallace. They first met at the young Wallace’s father’s deathbed. He became a surgeon for the Army and served in many battles. In later years, Jack kept the friendship with Wallace mainly through letters and rare visits. Mysterious, confident and old.
