If you have a close friend or relative that is overweight, make it a point of duty to ask them about their weight and what they are doing about it. Give them support, offer help where you can but do not give up on them. Make it easy to talk about obesity by confronting it and including it in everyday dialogue. This is hard initially but achievable. Girlfriends, sisters, cousins, work colleagues should talk about it freely. Think about it, if this same individual had a lump on their forehead, surely you will ask them about it. If it didn’t get sorted out, would you stop asking? Especially if this person is important to you? Obesity kills! Simple! Help your loved ones achieve their health goals... that is real friendship.
