Tip of the Month!
Lipstick's most iconic colour has been reinvented this season, proving that there are endless ways to wear a dramatic red. Which red should you wear to suit your skin tone?
Here are a few pointers…
... If you are pale-skinned; bold red lipstick is not what you want. Have a look for shades that are more a mixture of coral-red, orange-red or peach-red. Subtler but more suitable!
If you have darker skin, you can get away with bolder red lipstick. Darker lipstick shades are best reserved for people with dark hair as the shades will complement each other.
Olive skinned should go for brighter reds. Dull, matte red, or purplish-reds, may not suit.
Asian complexions will work best with red lipsticks that have a blue or purplish undertone.
Whatever you do, try the lipstick before you buy it. If in doubt ask a professional!

Saturday was a bit nosy due to kids swimming lessons but apart from that staff were friendly and accommodating. Lovely place to chill out!

User

My sister and I came to Imagine Health & Spa in Kensington yesterday as part of our girly pamper Sunday. We thoroughly enjoyed our time using the spa facilities. One thing I did find a little odd, the Sauna is within the changing rooms, rather than near the other facilities. But, nevertheless it was a lovely visit and I'd happily return again.

User

My daughter and I had a lovely day yesterday. Arrived in the morning. Welcomed and shown around. We used the Gym. Which us well equipped, Swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Steam and Sauna I then had a lovely facial and my daughter had a body scrub and massage. Both therapists were very nice. We then used the showers and hairdryers before leaving. A very.nice experience!

User

Lovely spa and great staff. I had a massage and it was quite possibly the best massage I've had. Thank you so much, cannot wait to visit again

User

I got a wowcher deal for myself and my very stressed friend, we had such a relaxing day. The sauna, steam room and pool were excellent, the facilities were clean and the facial treatment was amazing. Whilst there were some very noisy swimming lessons going on, we had been warned so didn't mind at all. Great service, we would definitely return!

User

Had a lovely spa day experience, staff were very accommodating. I had a hot stone treatment for the first time and was amazing. Place is very clean. The only downside was not enough space to relax e.g. More sunbeds or comfy seats to relax already looking to come back in Feb defo treating myself more spa days!

User

Gym has all the necessary for me , and Spa facilities are awesome especially when they have sauna and steam room :-)

User

Cracking facilities.

The Pool, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi are spot on.

Very clean and well looked after.

User

My boyfriend bought me a wowcher gift for this spa for my birthday, we visited yesterday and had a lovely time. Our experience was made extremely enjoyable thanks to Dani who was very friendly and asked about where we were staying and even recommended us some bars in the area, she also brought us a glass of complimentary prosecco each when we mentioned our trip was for both mine and my partner's birthday. We also had a treatment each, I would really recommend the body scrub. The only thing that was slightly off putting about the spa is that children's swimming lessons were taking place in the pool so the atmosphere wasn't exactly relaxing. Overall, a really nice experience :)

User

Lovely staff and clean facilities. Have been twice. Good value. Would be nice if there was fruit or more interesting cold drinks available.

User

Had an an amazing time, my massage was great! Facilities was also great. On the downside the brown robes need to be in the bin, colours were faded and bleach mark. Not good for your establishment.

User

2nd time lucky ! My advice go before 12 or after 7pm because of swimming lessons and kids everywhere, therapist Elona was excellent, very warm and caring with a passion for therapy, pool area nice for the price.

User

I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, the atmosphere is relaxing when you arrive. Welcoming staff offer hot drinks and hand you a consultation form. If you're having a treatment you'll have a quick consultation with your therapist prior. The Gym is nice and intimate and there are classes throughout the day in the studio.

They have a sauna, steam room, hot jacuzzi and a swimming pool. They also have four loungers alongside the swimming pool. This area is meant to be a relaxation area however, the spa hold swimming lessons throughout the day, meaning many children are present.

This defeats the purpose of a spa, which is to be relaxing, I am partially deaf so I didn't mind but my partner lost her relaxation when we got to the 4pm mark as more children filled the pools and she says the women's changing room was full of children making noise.

This is without mentioning that the sauna is not unisex like the steam room and they are placed in respective male/female changing rooms.

It could be a fantastic spa but the children ruin it.

User

I booked a "Twilight spa experience with 30 minute treatment and prosecco". I shall tell you about the spa, the treatment, and the prosecco...

The spa was nice. I used the pool, the steam room and the jacuzzi. As it was evening it wasn't too busy, so I managed to get time in the small jacuzzi. There were 4 plastic sun beds, and maybe 6-8 plastic chairs lined up against a wall. If you're going to call a place a spa, I think you should invest in the atmosphere a little - the quality of this furniture was lacking. I loved the sparkly lit star like ceiling above the pool though. Steam room was nice, pool was nice. Would be nice if the sauna was in the same area rather than before you head through into the pool area.

The treatment was lovely, I had a sensory body massage. The lady who did the massage was very nice, and did a good job. She clearly understands that making people feel comfortable is very important. I like the way they get you to select your oil by your senses, definitely made for a better experience.

The reception area in part had a nice feel, with iced water and a selection of herbal teas available.

I see the welcome and explanation of your experience as very important when having a "spa experience". This is where Imagine Spa fell down majorly.

I told the receptionist I had a twilight spa experience and she asked me to take a seat. She then bought over a questionnaire and asked me to fill it in. I did, and attempted to give it back, but was told to sit down and that she would come to me. Wish I was a mind reader. She seemed to want to take her own time to do her own thing, so I just waited to be told what was happening. She brought me a towel and robe and showed me he changing room and let me know where the sauna and steam room were. No mention yet of the prosecco. No mention of my treatment, so I asked if I should come back for that at 8.15, she said probably 8 would be better.

I came back at 8 and waited for 8.15 (no idea what the 15 mins was for, but I had a nice lemon and ginger tea while I waited). Still no mention of the prosecco. After the massage I had another tea planning to go for a quick swim before leaving, but remembered the prosecco at this point. I felt forced to ask if I was supposed to get it at the end, to which the receptionist said yes now and went and got it. No swim then.

I drank my prosecco in reception accompanied by horrendous unprofessional flirting by the receptionist with at least 2 men for a good 20 mins. No wonder she wasn't interested in my experience.

On leaving, she took my locker coin and forgot to refund my £1 coin so I had to ask.

Thank god for the masseuse.

User

Had a lovely facial and massage but the spa experience was definitely ruined by the kids swimming lessons that go on constantly throughout the day which made it hard to relax around the pool and in the jacuzzi. Would live to visit again on a kid free day

User

We had a mixed day at the Spa. It is based in the Holiday Inn in Kensington. On the plus side Jackie enjoyed her facial, and I had possibly the best massage I have ever had. They didn't do a very good job on Jackie's nails - not a great palce for a manicure or a pedicure. The Jacuzzi was tiny and konly seated two so difficult to claim a slot. The steam room was good. The pool was ok but they were running swimming lessons for young children, which to be fair they did warn us about. The food at the hotel was expensive and not that good and the service was slow, despite almost nobody being there. I do't think we'll be back there again

User

Its ok. Not really a spa. Doesn't have that feel or atmosphere. Not very relaxing to be honest. No relaxation area either. Its more like a leisure centre pool fitness centre. Jacuzzi way too small. Pool very deep which is the good thing. I planned to have a day there. We left within 2 hours. Quite disappointing as we expected a Spa day

User

Cramped changing room, tiny jacuzzi and rude staff. Lovely pool and in a nice hotel. Not my favourite

Kensington Imagine Spa visit 16th Feb

This is what has been emailed to the hotel about our experience.

"After receiving a gift from my friend for a spa day for my birthday last year I was ecstatic. She had spent ages looking for the perfect deal. After coming across your awesome ‘Wowcher’ spa day experience deal we were willing to drive over 3 hours to get to you.

After arriving at the Holiday Inn we thought wow this place looks beautiful, but then we arrived at the spa.

After our 3-hour journey we were in desperate need of some relaxation. We were welcomed into the spa by a receptionist and a therapist. Both who had no idea what we had booked in. We had to spend 10 minutes trying to tell them the same thing over and over again.

We eventually got there and was shown into the changing area. What can I say about the changing area, well first of all we were not pre-warned about the £1 per locker situation, in this a day and age where almost everything is paid by card we were lucky that one of us had some change.

We made our way to the toilet stalls to get changed because it was either in there or a soaked shower. It was disgusting. The state of the toilet was that similar to that of a public toilet. Not to mention the smell.

So eventually we made our way to the pool area where we thought we could relax as we had 2 hours before our spa treatments. We had been informed that there would be loungers reserved for clients where we could lay down and rest. There were four loungers. All taken. We opted to put our stuff on a plastic chair and go enjoy a steam. Oh wait. The steam room was out of order. We DID NOT get informed of this, but in fact got told the direction as to where it was.

Not feeling as relaxed at we hoped we went for a dip in the pool. Which is fine but we did not drive 3 hours to go swimming. So we got out and got dressed, as there was nowhere else to relax we went for some lunch in the hotel above.

When we returned we patiently waited in the seating area until we were called through for our treatments. The table was covered in used empty cups of water and teas. Not nice to look at.

Once we were called though we were surprised to find that we were put in the same treatment room. Luckily we are close friends but it would have been courteous to ask if this was okay prior to going in.

As we had opted for different treatments myself a body scrub and my friend a facial I felt it was odd that I had to get up and ‘shower’ whilst my friend had a relaxing facial. I have had body scrubs where the therapist will use hot water and a sponge to simply wipe off the scrub. Much more relaxing, would also have made me feel less self-conscious as I had to take my underwear off in a room full of people to have this shower.

Next we had our ‘hour long’ treatments yes they were lovely. However, as a qualified beauty therapist I am well aware of what the step by step routines are for a facial. I had noticed that my lady had finished my facial before her colleague. Obviously it would have been unprofessional for her to not finish at the same time. However dry rubbing my face for 10 minutes until she had finished did not really relax me.

We were then told to slowly get up and get dressed at our own pace only to have someone knock on the door within 30 seconds of us getting up to tell us to hurry up as they had another client in at 4.

Now bearing in mind that we had a total oh 1H30m worth of treatments. To which we were told the second would start at 3:15 even if it was started early it would not have been a full hours treatment if we had to ‘slowly wake up’ and get ready and if the room had to be remade for the next client. Poor time keeping. And VERY rude.

We were then basically kicked out. No thank you. No goodbye.

This is not acceptable. Our day was not relaxing at all we left more stressed than when we arrived.

Had a lovely facial and massage but the spa experience was definitely ruined by the kids swimming lessons that go on constantly throughout the day which made it hard to relax around the pool and in the jacuzzi. Would live to visit again on a kid free day

Saturday was a bit nosy due to kids swimming lessons but apart from that staff were friendly and accommodating. Lovely place to chill out!
