Devastating news reaches us today.
Our friend and team paddler, Mariano Alós Ferrer sadly lost his life whilst kayaking in Nepal. A great friend, inspirational paddler and all round good guy. He will be sorely missed by all those that were lucky enough to know him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to friends and family at this time.
... Keep on hucking in the next life brother!

We did a tidy up and found more 2014 spraydecks. So they are on sale.
There are even some of the most popular sizes. Get in there quick, these will go super fast!

The very last 2014 Lucky Charm is sitting around and we would love to see it go to a good home. So much so that it is now only £85!
Waist size is good for anyone with a 36' to 40' waist. 2014 sizes were a touch smaller than 2018 sizes, so if you are paddling something like a L Machno, L Ripper, Everest, L Karma then this will fit great.
... Someone must know someone that this will be a total bargain for. Help us help them out please :)

Once again this year the water levels in Norway were too low to hold the Ekstremsportveko Branseth Downhill race on the Branseth so it was moved to the popular Mrykdal river for a low water sprint out instead!
Here's Phil's run that put him in 4th place after first runs. Sadly his second run wasn't as fast, finishing in 7th overall.
Congrats to young gun Andi Brunner from Austria who came first overall!

i bought a spray skirt some months ago, i was undecided between the lucky charm and the kling-on. I choose the latter because i'm a trekkie and i love green, it matches perfectly with my boat. It fits easily, i don't have to struggle with the bungee and it keeps me dry. Neoprene and nylar rim reinforcement seems very durable!

User

Paddled my Dagger Jitsu with my new IR Klingon bungee skirt for first time at local play hole this evening - super impressed. I no longer need to bring my sea kayak pump with me to empty out the Jitsu mid session - like a new boat! I was recommended to get an IR deck and it would solve my issues, but way exceeds what I expected - great job. Every Jitsu should come with one ...

IR reckons their Devil's club cag is the most durable on the market and I would have to agree! I have had my devil's club cag for two years and it is absolutely fantastic. It's really warm which is perfect for Scottish paddling and is super tough which is ideal for people like me who love to beater and semi-regularly have to climb out of gorges. It also has a semi-dry neck seal which is fantastic as it has meant that even with a perished neck seal (which I have been to lazy to fix) I still stay pretty dry.

It also has the added benefit of being black which means you can blend in to rocks easily if you want to hide from people due to social anxiety or hating your friends.

I've been using IR gear (Devils club drysuit, Lucky charm deck, Arch rival dry top, Guide shorts, etc.) for a couple of years now and I can happily recommend IR to anyone who's looking for some quality gear! It's hard wearing, comfortable, good looking and most importantly: waterproof!

User

I ordered a drysuit, wore it out on the water to then discover its too big, emailed them and they are more than happy to exchange it for a smaller size. I was shocked and amazed by this as not many companies would happily do that. Amazing customer service, and from my brief experience with the drysuit, their products are amazing also. I cannot wait to get my drysuit exchanged and get back out paddling in my awesome new kit!

I have been using Immersion Research Equipment for the past 3 years. I have used 99% of all other equipment from other manufacturing brands. However my search for the best kayaking equipment has ended thanks to IR.

I paddle almost 300 days a year in the UK and across Europe, for work and for fun. My Figure 7 dry suit is 2 years old and still going strong, My Figure 7 dry top is 3 years old and still going strong.

My garments keep me dry my union suit keeps me supper warm, my Thick Skin top is perfect for when im coaching when its 2 degrees. My K2 Long and short sleeve tops are perfect for summer in the Alps just to keep the sun off and for when its a chilly day.

Guide Shorts and the neoprene guide shorts are just fantastic, they go great with the Arch Rival short sleeve semi day top. (2 years old as well)

The Lucky Charm is just that for big water and the Klingon deck is amazing for general purpose. Over all after for searching for years, I have found the one company that meets my needs with their kayaking equipment.

Because of the quality, the durability, the excellent customer service I am using IR kayaking Equipment for my White Water Kayaking Company. Their is equipment for every season, every weather condition.

IR all the way, as the equipment speaks for its self.

I got a set of IR wetsuit lined shorts in early 2000, and have worn them pretty much constantly since. They are wetsuit shorts, keep me warm ish. Not much else can really be said on that.

They are starting to wear a bit thin, the drawstring broke, the pocket came unstitched, and recently a bit of the lining stitching has come a little loose.

Despite IR not thinking this was a warranty issue, I've managed to keep them going strong with a little TLC, if a little well worn.

If the newer shorts are even half as good, they'll still last longer than every other bit of kit out there.

I have had my Arch Rival top since 2014 and it's been around the world and back many times. Aside from my wetsuit shorts (also IR) I don't think I've worn anything else nearly as much as this top. I spend over 200 days a year on the river, and wear this top for most of them.

It's a very simple top, lightweight enough to be nice to wear, and sturdy enough to last hundreds of days of use crawling through forests and jungles.

It fits well, and the only thing about it that isn't so good any more is that after so many years of use the velcro tags around the wrist have stopped being so sticky and flap around a bit sometimes. Hardly a major issue, and the newer tops don't have them anyway.

It has recently come to a point where I am considering retiring it after being scraped along granite for a Cali season, but I can't say it owes me anything, and considering the price has to be one of the best value items of kayaking kit I have had.

It turns out that I may be a little hard on kayaking equipment, perhaps I use it a little too often, or I'm just careless, but whatever the reason even my IR drysuit has managed to actually last a full season of use without falling apart and getting me wet.

That might not sound a particularly hard thing to do, but it's been the demise of plenty of other kit and the drysuit is still going strong.

I had it sent to the UK repair centre for a new neck gasket, and it was pressure tested and back within a few days. Super handy to have this service with such a speed for when those gaskets go.

The little features on the suit are good too, making it a nicer experience to wear. The wrist cuffs are stretchy so there are no flappy velcro bits to come undone and annoy you, and the waist belt whilst looking a bit ramshackle actually works very well and keeps the suit snug whilst still being low profile.

Overall I think it is one of the best performing drysuits I've used, and has good lastability (that is a word), and there's always the Devil's Club suit if you think you'll be rolling around in thorns more than the average person.

I bought my son the Arch Rival Dry Top, as his Palm cag just wasn’t up to the job any more! It’s super stylish, comes in fab colours, it’s warm, supple, comfy and above all DRY, DRY, DRY!!!

Son was so pleased with it, he then bought the shorty version for himself, for those rare warmer days. So he will still look stylish (and stay dry!) whatever the weather!

He was also lucky to be gifted the thermal onesie, which is like wearing your duvet under your dry suit, it’s sooo warm and snuggly!!! And yes, he has been known to wear it to bed on a cold night, when camped out by the river.

Immersion Research products are quite simply fabulous!!!

User

I bought a two items of kit for IR the first was a day suit! Personally the best things about the dry suit are the little things like it folds smaller, so I have an easier time packing my bad, and the belt instead of braces.

The best bit of IR kit that I could now not paddle with out is there bare suit! I love this and will be buying more of them as paddling isn't as comfortable without it!

User

I bought a personalised, lime green union suit about 3 years ago and it continues to be one of my must have bits of kit on the river. It keeps everything form my toes to my tits warm and I never leave the house without it. Keep up the good work IR!

User

I bought a devil's club drysuit recently. It's very comfortable and much lighter than I was expecting. The belt is an interesting innovation taking the place of braces but has the amusing side effect of making it look like the wearer has a massive Henry the 8th era cod piece, or that the wearer requires extra crotch space for the enormous genitals they must have because of the massive rapid they just styled. Also if you do end up swimming the massive cod piece bulge will make it look like there is a shark trying to eat you, you can then blame the shark for your swim and thereby not lose the respect of your peers.

User

Having suffered through 3 years of cold/wet boating days caused by a leaky Nookie dry-suit, I finally decided to treat myself to a front entry Arch Rival dry-suit from Immersion Research. From already owning 2 dry-cags and 2 spraydecks, I knew just how good IR gear is, and the dry-suit is no different. These suits are well crafted, comfortable, and most importantly, completely dry!

Being a rather lanky human comes with its problems, and i normally have to buy super large sizes to ensure the correct fit, however IR offered a tailored service and altered my suit to ensure the correct fit at all areas.

I have owned both of my drycags for over 4 years, with my long sleeve one being used far more often in Scotland... However both cags are still fully dry, and have plenty of life in them. Knowing how well IR gear lasts made my decision to purchase my drysuit from them an easy one. I am now looking forward to many more dry days boating.

User

Having fallen foul of three poor quality British drysuit manufacturers and even worse customer service I purchased a Devils Club drysuit. I have now owned it for a year. I rate it very highly. It has had some pretty horrendous use, its been in use most weekends and often on midweek paddles too..

I paddle open boats so I'm normally heavy on the knee wear, no sign of any wear. I have been scouting, clambering over rocks, sliding down banks, long walks. It has simply had a hose down with fresh water and an occasional zip lube. It has worked. I think the only way that you could tell that its now had over 100 outings and is not brand new is that it no longer beads water of its surface.

If I lost it, I would replace with exactly the same, in a heartbeat.

User

Got a front entry arch rival drysuit.

It is comfortable to wear, fits perfect and the waist strap is excellent

The latex feet are great, much more hard wearing than a material boot and more comfortable when worn with shoes.

Always take it off bone dry underneath, after 5 months of regular use water still beads on the surface.

User

Feel like Moses himself as water simply disperses at the sheer sight of IR equipment.

Keep yourself warm, dry and super stylish and all for a very competitive price. "MAGICAL"

With the 2016 Arch Rival Rear Zip Drysuit, mens Union Suit and the Klingon Bungee spray deck, this killer combo will you can looking, paddling and feeling like a pro.

Amazing quality, stylish design, along with the excellent customer service, it's no wonder they're the brand everyone's talking about.

User

Do you hate being cold?

Do you hate being wet?

Do you hate being a beater?

I did too, but now I wear IR gear.

I've never felt the rain since buying my IR arch rival shorty, NEVER and I live in Scotland! its amazing.

I've never been a beater since buying my IR cling on deck (okay that one is a big lie) I still beater, but when I'm not beatering i'm dry in my boat and can run the massive stouts found on grade 3 trips with the safe knowledge that I can't use the excuse that my deck popped when I beater.

Finally, I haven't put my heating on once since buying my IR onsie, I wear it to bed, I wear it to the pub (jeans over the top obv.), I wear it to work; its fantastic for wearing all the time. Only problem is I only have one and my friends make me wash it if I want to share a shuttle with them, if only I had two....

User

Bought my IR Shawty cag over a year ago now, and despite me loving a good beatering and the more than occasional swim, it's still bone dry and like new. I haven't felt the grim British weather once since having it despite how lightweight it is - definitely one of my best investments!

User

Best spraydecks I've ever used. Dry and well sized for body and boat. Also an easily grabbed exit handle...

My Arch Rival suit is well cut, the shoulder zip is comfortable while paddling and the secondary zip on the spraydeck tube keeps much more water out than the usual velcro flap! It's a tough piece of equipment that has lasted well for years of tough use and I suspect will keep lasting for a few more!

User

Best kit on the market at the moment, it’s all super durable, warm and dry!

I currently use the standard Rival cag year round and it keeps me happy on the water!

Another point is the IR decks which are again in a different league from other brands! Not having to worry if about implosion is one big factor off my mind when looking at something scary!

I’ve never once had an issue with any of my IR kit and haven’t met anyone else that has! Thanks guys!
