So happy with service I received in Basildon bakery and were very good with my son when he couldn't make up his mind about which cake he wanted

Percy Ingles is a family thing to us and has been since I was a little kid - our family won't buy bread or pastries from anywhere else, especially Greggs who's food has a synthetic taste and is always too greasy - You can't beat Ingles. I use both Percy Ingles on Lea Bridge Road Leyton - one near Markhouse Road and the other in the Bakers Arms and also the one opposite the Town Hall in Leyton High Road- I've always had the pleasure of dealing with the friendliest and most helpful staff and not once have I had any issue with the hygiene, food or anything else for that matter. Would be nice to see their chocolate glazed doghnuts back though - the fancy ones are nice but all the kiddies preferred the glazed ones as they prefer no filling - other than that keep doing what you're doing Ingles - My Great Gran, Nan, Mum and Aunts have always sung your praises and I'll continue down the line -we love you, your cakes have always been and always will be our Friday treat XXX

I love Percy Ingle. I have nothing bad to say about their products except a job well done. My favorite is the steak puff and their sausage roll. Keep the good work up.

Great local bakery. Fine range of products and friendly service. Long may they fight off the big corporates!!

For quite a few years now I have been buying my low GI loaf at Percy Ingles. It isn't cheap (£2.75) but it's so very delicious that it's worth every penny. A few weeks back a fellow customer also commented on how tastey the bread is and then she bought an Apple Strudel. I decided to buy one too and it was sublime. I've bought the strudel several more times now, and it seems to taste nicer each time I have it.

I love Percy Ingle granary bread and bought the cob from your Thatched House branch on Tuesday evening. The staff there are usually very friendly but on this occasion I was served by a different girl. I asked her why she doesn't wear gloves while handling the bread. She responded in a very loud agressive manner saying she doesn't have to and though her accent was very strong I deciphered she was going on about customers at Bakers arms who handle all the fruit and then complain that there's no gloves to serve the bread. She was still ranting about Baker's arms "disgusting" customers' habits as I walked out the door. I don't feel like going back after her clear indifference to customer service.

Worst customer service ever in Stratford shopping centre.

I went to Percy ingle in Stratford last Friday afternoon and bought my daughter chocolate crispy cake which was priced £0.79. I gave the cashier £0.80, got the cake and gave it to my daughter who started to eat it straight away. Than cashier told me that I need to pay more as the cake costs £1.09. When I pointed out that the displayed price is £ 0.79 she said that it’s incorrect and in the afternoon before closing shop it happens quite often that prices are mixed up. After I said I won’t pay more than the displayed price she called shop manager. This lady asked me to pay more than displayed price as well or give the cake back. I told her that my daughter, who was next to me eating the cake already ate half and does she (manager) want me to take it from her- she said yes.

I had to take remaining cake from a 3 years old child and gave it to manager.

I could be disgusted, upset or angry but today is Sunday and I’m still shocked. Not only you misleading your clients, you’ve got mess in your shop but you took a half-eaten cake from a child. Shocking !!!

Went to catford store today first time in a long time bought some of your hot pastries and not happy with the filings where are they its all pastry back to greggs it is.

User

Went to High Road Leytonstone branch. OMG.What a chaos. The old lady who works there have no idea what she was doing. Preparing rolls for 3 people at the same time but not sure which one for who.The girl who worked with her confused and disorganised. Giving away the bread rolls but she cant remember if these people have actually paid for ut or not. A super long que and people walking out as a result of it.I bought 2 bread puddings after waiting for nearly 7 min to be served then came home and realised that the bread pudding had some weird things inside that look like spaghetti pasta. Chucked it in the bin obviously!!! Mad house! The old lady should retire as this job is not for her anymore!!!

User

Went to Dagenham Heathway branch yesterday , as I sat down I noticed the other tables were dirty and the floor well it was horrific , you wouldn't have your home like this so why work like it , and today I have bad bails (toilet) every 5 minutes , strong stomach pains I will be reporting this to the London borough of Barking and Dagenham health team .

My daughter is the same as me , so thank you very much for a lovely birthday spent in bed

Waltham Cross - THE PAVILIONS SHOPPING CENTRE

If I could put no stars on this I would. Disgustingly rude staff. Manager called Marta is very unprofessional, rude and disgustingly careless with her customers.

We ordered 2 steak bites which tasted uncooked and pink coloured. It had no taste or sign of actual authentic steak. More like pieces of disposable meat plastered together. We asked politely for a refund or exchange and they said their policy does not include giving customers a refund or exchange. There was no sign around the store to say that that was the policy. After saying this to the manager she completely ignored and disregarded us. Not even trying to solve the situation.

We started to explain to her how we didn’t appreciate the way she has dealt with the matter and she went ahead to accuse us of being aggressive when were just dissatisfied with our purchase. She even went as far to call the security on myself and my pregnant sister, for no reason, because she said she’s had enough and she doesn’t want to talk to us anymore. After this she decided to call the head office out of our presence and tell them a bunch of lies about how we have been aggressive, when all we asked for is their policy. It’s appalling the way the head office also spoke (Steve and Aolvian) both senior store and regional managers were very disgusting about the whole situation, shouting at us over the phone. I think the store is not fit to stay open at all and it’s very appalling to see how they can treat paying customers. The quality of food is also very disgusting. Another customer came in to buy a sandwich and it was so rock hard that it made a sound when the staff handed it to the customer. I will not be going back there anytime soon and I will be sticking to Greggs who always delivers amazing service and fresh products. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.

Very poor customer service from the manage at Waltham Cross branch. See the story below....

Hi,

I went in your store at Waltham cross to buy your fantastic Low GI bread and saw that Percy Ingle have started selling Cornbread. I was very excited at this as I have wheat gluten allergy. I asked the staff about the ingredients of the corn bread as some of them have a percentage of wheat flour in them. They did not know and gave me a leaflet which had no information regarding the ingredients of the corn bread. Luckily the manage was out on the shop floor and he told me to go and look online. I explained that I would like to know then so I could buy it. He was not happy at this, but phoned and found the information. I thanked him and suggested that they could maybe put the information on the leaflet. I was told the leaflets were from their supplier. I suggested that he passed the feedback onto the suppliers. he the tried showing me the leaflet about allergies.

I explained that I knew about allergies and that I was trying to say that it would be helpful for people with allergies to know about the ingredients of the products being sold. He got very irritated at this and again told me to go and check online.

Whilst I was trying to have a conversation with him, his attitude was very condescending and he was looking around totally ignoring me. So I told him that I could see he was not interested in my feedback and walked out of the shop.

And taking his advice, have made use of the technology to put this incident online.

Percy Ingle cares little about our environment and their customers' preferences.

I always carry a canvas bag for bread so we don't have to use their plastic ones but today they refused to put the bread into my bag. I ended up not buying it after all. Sales Assistant says this is company policy. Is it really?

Not happy at all with what i see in stores

Launched today

Your supposed to be "jamaican" Pastry

Christ

There like the marco pierrie white discrace to Rice & peas vid on youtube

And all Jamaicans world wide

We are demanding either a change of name

or off the counter now

As just like the Cornish Pasty can't be called a Cornich Pasty

So the same standerds & rules apply to our "Jamaican" Patty pastry

User

Im disgusted that they hve launched a 'Jamaican pastry' that looks and tastes nothing like one. Go to an original source and get the correct info better still a Jamaican to cook it or stear u in the direction to buy in bulk.... wat an insult....

User

I was in the Enfield branch today at 9am where i was profiled and refused service by an abusive sales manager. i was told my £10note was no good because there was no change to give. Then an older gentleman walks in with £10 note. he enquires if he will be refused sale too but was accepted as a customer. when i asked for details to make a complaint i was met with an unprovoked, aggressive pejorative behaviour where i was refused the phone number to make a complaint, and refused the name of the server multiple times until finally getting an answer. i stressed that i was uncomfortable with the manner in which i was spoken to, and expressed how it was making me feel which i was responded with "i don't know why your still in the shop" "i don't care if you complain, i'll talk to you anyway i want" etc. Later to find this is the store manager behaving in this way naturally i made a complaint with head office. i would NEVER recommend this store!

User

I bought yesterday a bread from your shop which is in Dagenham Heathway and the boy who was working there didn't wear gloves. He told me thatI need to tell him. When I told him that he is not aloud to touch my bread he was unpolite. I am very disappointed...

HAROLD HILL STORE!!!!!!!!!!!

Yet again I have been spoken to rudely, patronisingly and had eyes rolled at me.. By the old miserable women. Who talks to her team like they are nothing.. And the customers not a lot better at all. This is the second time she has refused to serve me as I have a "to big note" I was buying 8 mince pies.. And also wanted to make a Christmas order.. Before she even gave me the chance she said if I'm just buying the mince pies she can't take my £10 note as she needs the change for her float tomorrow. I said I didn't have anything smaller she said you can pay by card which I replied no. She then rolled her eyes at me and went sorry I can't do it. Absolutely disgusting! she gives your Haroldhill store a bad name and makes customers stay away when she is there. Please do something about this!! As I love your mince pies but left without them and a grumpy child!! I now find myself avoiding your store whilst she is there! Not good at all. Where's as the rest of the team from your Haroldhill store are polite and friendly just how it should be!
