'Everyone has a soundtrack to their lives and Owen O’Neilldecided to have a think about what songs were important to him and why? He could have written twenty songs to die for, but he had to choose carefully. He takes the audience on a journey, from when he was ten until about 45, using ten songs which have been integral to the most tragic joyful and comic moments of that period. When he caused chaos at his school Feis Ceoil, (Irish Music Festival,) by singing a very inapprop...riate song in front of the Bishop of Derry. How he lost my virginity aged 15 to the local bank managers wife, who on the same night was taken hostage by IRA gunmen. When he broke into Hammersmith Police station through a skylight wearing a red velvet suit. How he went on an acid trip and had a fight with some garden gnomes. These are only some of Owen's true life stories in this seventy minute show..
This is a really special chance to see Owen's new show, before it goes to Edinburgh!! Do Not Miss
What the critics have said about Owen's previous shows.
‘ONeill is a genuine storyteller full of heart and soul he is also very funny’ New York Times.
‘You can almost smell the burning flesh’ The Scotsman
‘Muscular and vivid storytelling. I didn’t see anything better’ The Spectator
‘He has the turn of phrase of Roddy Doyle and the darkness of Patrick McCabe, ..Brilliant!’. – The Independent

It's amazing how Irish people work together in London to do such a great cultural job. Music classes, concerts and cultural activities open for everyone. Thanks, Hammersmith Irish centre

ICC screened my Irish Film #connected2eachother for the first time outside Ireland. I also got to attend the wonderful #teadance. My thanks to my lovely host #collettemackin GM ICC who created a great experience for me in my first visit to ICC. I look forward to bringing back future films and attending the opening of the new Centre later in 2016.

I think the comedy night was a great idea, the crowd was a great mix and it was great to see so many younger people coming to the centre. We had a great night and can't wait for the next one. ICC Abú!!!

User

At last we have our home back. Most of the best Irish musicians playing trad come to our door. All welcome

Absolutely loving giving the fiddle lessons every Saturday! Great bunch of students. Come along from 10 am every week if you fancy it.

Great variety of activities: talks, films, lessons, workshops, exhibitions, concerts, sessions, dances...

Something for everyone.

Really enjoyed the Sean O' Casey film 'Under A Coloured Cap' last night. A documentary from a personal perspective made by his daughter Shivaun & followed by a Q&A with her. Informative, enlightening, some surprises in there - at times sad but also funny & heartwarming. A memorable evening...

Walked into the bar, looked fine but no signage as to where I was supposed to go ("John Hume in America" film and talk). So had to ask as there was a session going on in the bar.

No signage for toilets so had to ask again. No soap dispenser in Gents toilet

No tea/coffee available ; alcohol only; not a great image for an Irish Centre!

The film and Q&A with director was excellent

User

Small hall no windows, no proper bar , long queue for toilet, needs to improve
