Opening & Closing Times - Easter Dear members & users of Islington Boxing Club,
Due to Easter Holidays, there will be NO Recreational Classes this Monday (15th) & Wednesday (17th April) evening as both Dan and Rider are away on deserved holidays. However if anyone wishes to do their own thing instead, Solo Boxing Training will be taking place in the upper gym between 8-9pm, cost is £5.
... Also, the club will be closed between 19th-22nd April for Easter Holiday Weekend for all sessions and solo training. Reinaldo will be running a Recreational Boxing Class at 12pm on Good Friday (19th) & Bank Holiday Monday (22nd April).
We hope you all enjoy your Easter break and ready to come back at it hard!
All sessions back as per normal from Tuesday 23rd April onwards including the revamped Infants Boxing Classes.

2 elite @englandboxingofficial champions crowned today at Manchester Convention Centre.
A massive well done to Jem Campbell (Female U69kg) and Masood Abdullah (Male U60kg) on their wins, a historic day for the club a year on since club founder Ron Hagland was laid to rest (it was meant to be!).
... Unlucky Connor Daly (U52kg) on coming at the wrong end of a 3-2 split decision in the flyweight final.

3 out of 3 winners today for IBC at the National Senior Elite Championship Semi Finals. Nice to have 3 boxers in national finals, still work to do, no celebrations yet.
Masood boxed 3 times over the weekend. Jem and Connor boxed twice.

Gloves up, knifes down!

This is a clipping from the Islington Gazette from a few years ago when the club was receiving phone calls and emails from members of the public that youngsters were falsely claiming to be raising money for Islington Boxing Club in the West End and other areas.
In the last week we have been again receiving phone calls and emails regarding the same issue.
The police at West End Central are aware of the incident. We would like to confirm again that these are scammers and have n...o authority to raise money on behalf of Islington Boxing Club.
We would appreciate if anyone does come across these youngsters or see this happening, please could you send across a photograph of them to islingtonboxingclub@hotmail.com to help assist IBC.

This week is the last classes for the Infant Boxing Groups (ages 5-8) before the Easter Holiday break for 2 weeks.
As of 23rd April 2019 onwards, ICSA Infants Boxing Classes will be now be £6 per session rather than a term fee at the beginning of a new school term which has been implemented for a few years.
Also, we will now open up the classes to children twice a week rather than restricting to only one class per week.
... A discount will be available for parents/guardians who wish to pay fees in advance (non-refundable) for the entire term (ie: 12 sessions in 6 weeks = £60 instead of £72).

The club will be shut for Junior & Senior Competitive Squad sessions tonight (29th March) as we have boxers competing in the London Elite Championship Finals & in Birmingham that night.
The Junior Academy session will be on as per normal.

Islington had 4 Junior boxers in action today.
Caiden Hughes (U57kgs) boxing on the Small Holdings ABC show won via split decision to progress to the London Semi Finals of the Junior Championships to be contested next Saturday.
IBC had 3 juniors on the Lion ABC show this afternoon. A disappointing start with Cianan Campbell getting stopped in the 3rd round against a schooled boxer from MK Victors.
... Isaac Gibson (33kgs) defeated Reis Wilson (Lion ABC) via unanimous decision. Gibson started off slow but got into his stride as the contest rolled on.
Junior club captain, Harry Betteridge (50kgs) won by the skin of his teeth in a close contest against an opponent from MK Victors. Harry lost the opening round, before coming back to win the 2nd, all on the last it was close but 2 of the 3 scoring judges gave it in favour of Harry.

A win for Connor ‘Dollar’ Daly on the Bulkington Boxing Club show this evening in Coventry. Daly defeated Ryan Dixon in a rematch from our dinner show nearly 2 years ago which Connor also won.
Good preparation for Connor going into his first elite championships.
