I’m sure all our lovely customers will join us in wishing Denise Thame a happy very early (partial 😂) happy retirement.
Denny came to help us out for two days just under 4 years ago but thankfully for us she fell in love with the job of not only being the animals guardian but also looking after, mentoring & occasionally slapping 😂our lovely team of staff. Myself & Jungle James we’re not exempt from her kindness (also slaps 😂).
When Denny started with us the business was in it...s infancy, Denny Joined us on a crazy journey of animal craziness, helped us through some real tough situations & kept everyone’s spirits up when things didn’t go right. Denny also gave up countless hours of her own time to help with charitable causes, helped the business when times were tough & even her family have helped us.
Denny truly has gone above and beyond for us & our business. This is far from goodbye because Denny will always be back to give cuddles to her endless family of animals, staff & Directors 😂
We all owe you so much, enjoy your Summer because Reindeer season is coming Mrs Claus 😂
You are a friend for life, I hope you enjoyed your drinks last night xxxx

Apologies The Zoo at Maldon remains closed today Thursday 13th June due to weather related issues.

A little information
So why do we have to close if the weather looks bad?
... Our day starts much earlier than your visit (normally 5am) & if the temperature isn’t quite right or it’s raining this will stop us in our tracks. Our animals can’t & wont be put on wet or cold grass, it has to be right for everyone including the real stars our animals.
Why does the wind close the zoo?
If we have high winds (gusts exceeding 20mph) this can upset the animals but also knock over our heavy gazebos causing potential damage to our animals, staff & customers.
Pleased to say that will not put our animals, staff or customers safety in harms way, however we do apologise when we need to close.
