Kensho Karate Dojo

Sensei Matt and Senpai Aaliyah will be going to the birthplace of Karate in Okinawa, Japan to participate in the Okinawa Dento Karate-do Gishiki. ‘Gishiki’ (pronounced ‘Gish-ki’) means ‘ceremony’, giving a more formal title to the largest of IOGKF International event. This event is headed by Master Higaonna Sensei, Nakamura Sensei and a number of other amazing IOGKF Senseis. Kensho Karate Dojo will be closed from Friday 19th Jul and reopen Friday 16th Aug (a reminder will be sent closer to the time). Great night at Kensho Karate Dojo celebrating our 1st Anniversary! Thanks everyone for your support and training hard 👊🏼🥋

It has been just over a year since we opened our doors for the first Kensho Karate lesson on 11th May 2018 and it has been a great journey so far. Kensho is a family dojo and I have enjoyed extending our karate family and seeing so many familiar faces visit our dojo. I have trained with so many of you, but the support and guidance offered by so many especially from EGKA/IOGKF seniors has been phenomenal. The words of encouragement has definitely inspired us to turn our little... dream of having a family dojo into reality. The biggest thanks of all must go to all the students that attend the classes regularly. I hope you continue to train and progress. Dojo Kun is the Karate warrior code. It is the very ideals for which we try to live our day to day lives. This is recited in IOGKF Dojo’s all across the world as part of our end of class meditation.
