When one of my brides from 5 years ago contacted me to make her Mum’s 60th birthday cake, I was thrilled. It was so lovely to catch up with her, her husband and her gorgeous 18 month old Leo (how time flies!). The brief was to reflect her glam Mum’s love of gardening, reading and red lipstick, and an absolute must was a little vanilla cookie cottage. The cake inside is vanilla bean sponge with salted caramel frosting and lots of creamy salted caramel sauce. 😋

Well I’m home, I’m tired but I am buzzing from an amazing couple of days training with @maggieaustincake. Here is my finished cake (see my insta stories for the full design). Maggie is an incredible teacher; warm, patient, funny and totally inspirational. Sorry I haven’t been on here much lately. I have been working quite a bit over the holidays and haven’t had time to post, but after a fabulous Christmas, normality is about to resume; decorations are down, house is back to normal and healthy eating is back on the agenda.
As I reflect on 2018, I would just like to say a big thank you for all your support, particularly over the last few months since I took the leap to full time ‘caking’. Kerry is just amazing in every way. From the moment we met her we knew she was the lady for the job! She made us feel so welcome in to her beautiful studio for the consultation. She listened to absolutely everything we said, asked us about our themes and colours and I could tell she knew instantly what our visions were. She was utterly lovely and kept in contact with me throughout the whole process. Nothing was too much for Kerry. Not only is Kerry's work flawless to look at but my god - what a cake to eat!!! I love cake - and I have eaten a lot - but I cannot tell you how delicious her cakes are. We had compliment upon compliment about our wedding cake. The flavours were out of this world. You really have no need to look further - book this lady now!! If you don't need a cake just get one from her anyway - you will think you have died and gone to heaven when you taste them!!
