I've used Key Travel numerous times for research trips to the US, and KT's agents have been unfailingly helpful, efficient, and speedy in their replies. I would recommend the company without any reservation, and I look forward to booking future trips with them. Many thanks!

User

I would like to thank you for the excellent customer service I have received from Key Travel. It would be best to describe me as a hesitant, nervous traveller who sees problems readily. I had a number of these problems when I rang. The young women I spoke to, Saphia, was courteous, patient, knowledgeable and understanding. She appreciated why I might have my concerns and patiently guided me through to a resolution. She did not rush me or make me feel incompetent in any way. This was a model of customer service and I commend both her and your company for the how I was treated.

I first got introduced to the visa team in 2008, mid-way through an epic travel schedule DC > Baku > Almaty with a short stopover in London ... these guys stayed after hours on a Friday to make sure I got my passport on time to fly out again in the early hours. In recent years the visa team have assisted for my personal travel permits, this time on high stakes trips that reunite me with my little family in the Himalayas. Special Five Star thanks to Gavin and Winston for always going the extra mile to make sure I get the right visa, every time, on time.

UPDATE: To give fair credit where it is due .. further to my posting the below review, Key Travel contacted me swiftly, apologised sincerely and swiftly resolved the issue to my satisfaction.

---

Like others here I had to use this company as part of a group I was travelling with to obtain a visa. I was tight on time so thought using an agency would actually be beneficial. Wrong.

Firstly, I was charged an express-handling fee which later turned out to be £120! (Did the courier get a new bike as part of the deal?) OK, so that's perhaps my fault for not checking more thoroughly in the first place, but it would have been nice to have been told.

More importantly, I was promised they would do their utmost to ensure the visa was issued in time. However, every time I rang to check on progress, a bored voice told me they didn't know, hadn't checked, reminded me of the standard length of time taken by the embassy (which, oddly enough, I was aware of) and that there was nothing they could (would?) do to try and speed this up. In the end a very kind colleague had to go and sit in the embassy until the visa was issued...

When I rang up to suggest Key Travel could have done better and to consider some form of rebate for lack of service I was told they would get back to me. Still waiting...

So, in my experience, a complete waste of money and zero service. You have been warned!

My company recently used Key Travel to book my fight. The travel agent overstepped her area of expertise telling what was needed for my travel. I wondered how often she had flown with the airline she was placing me on. I think she was looking for lowest fare which doesn't always meet with what a client wants or expects. I felt she worked for the company not me the person having to sit in the seat so if you are a company they will look after your interest. If you are a representative of a company you don't get any input as they will do what the company wants.

Guess it is fair but if she were in my shoes she might have a big complaint too.

User

I travel frequently and have used many different agents in the past for business and leisure. Key Travel has been my worst experience to date. The agent I have been assigned is just not capable. Stay away from this company.

Story:

I am currently attempting to book travel on a multi-city itinerary. The agent thus far has been unable to provide any options given my flight criteria. I have been given options with the wrong dates, the wrong flight network and the wrong cities. Not one suggestion has been viable at any price.

I went so far as to provide them with the exact flights on the exact dates on the

exact airlines via a short search on Skyscanner. I also included a screen shot for them to mark the price.

I have heard no response from the team since providing this detailed information.

If I could, I would have booked the trip myself.

User

I must use Key Travel to book travels with my organisation. I book tons of travels with them. They always cock-up. Always. Guaranteed.

I never found an expert member of staff.

How they go ahead is a mystery of business. With co-workers we use the phrase "it's a key travel" for poor performances. It says it all.

If you can choose, stay away.

User

I honestly don't know what standards are required for someone to be a 'travel agent', but these muppets managed to book the wrong hotel (in a city 500km away from my destination) and failed to provide updates on my cancelled flights.

The only reason I used their service was because my institution required it. Honestly, it's a good thing computers are replacing agents. At least computers can follow hyperlinks and send emails. These guys, evidently, cannot.

User

I have lost my luggage and nearly missed my connecting flight because of the transfer suggested by key travel. I had to pick the bag the bag up in Paris and recheck it but it never arrived. Usually they transfer but it seems to be something with how the tickets were booked. Now I don't have vital gear for a field trip I leave for tomorrow.
