I rode a series of three Yamaha motorcycles over a four year period, a 125 then a 700 then a 900 cc machine. The bike got bigger each time in an attempt to make my 45 mile commute easier to manage.
I foolishly thought that bigger meant better and the commute would be made easier with a taller bike with a massive wind deflector and unlimited power.
I wish that I took the advice that I will impart upon you all now. ... If you’re commuting, get a scooter.
Ideally a 125 or larger capacity, but a 50cc will be fine if you’re just crossing town.
Its SO MUCH EASIER to get on and off, generally they are better on fuel. Keep your legs warmer and easier to ride.
With some of the larger wheel size models available now like the Peugeot Tweet or Lexmoto Urban, you won’t have to worry about road conditions too much and the ride is smoother than Sinatra.

I hear that today is Blue Monday. Apparently the Saddest day of the year.
Unsure on how you would go about measuring this. Do they measure the volume of tears in a global measuring burette? Do they count the downloads of Radiohead albums?
In any case, were feeling practically jovial down here in sunny Port Talbot after a nice visit the UK Trade EXPO yesterday. Myself, Paul and Charles drive up and shook hands with some familiar faces and put some new faces to familiar Voice...s.
We learned some cracking new information including exciting developments with quite a few of our bike manufacturers.

There’s a new NECO 50cc model being delivered in the next few weeks and we have got a pre order down for the new GULF coloured Bullitt hero expected in a few months. One of about Twenty coming in to the UK!!!

Somethings in life need to be seen with your own eyes to truly gauge their magnificence. The Pyramids, The Great Barrier Reef, The Grand Canyon, The Mona Lisa.

Guys, Can we stop wearing matching trackie tops and bottoms please? Port Talbot Town Centre looks like a cross between a rave in 1992, and a F1 drivers meeting.
Unless 80% of people in south wales are sponsored by Nike, there is a real offset of people proudly displaying their allegiance to a brand.
I can barely find a matching pair of socks, let alone go out of my way to ensure that my trousers and top are the same colour + brand. Madness.

It’s the first PROPPER weekend after the new year and so far I am underwhelmed. I saw so many “new year new me” posts that I was genuinely expecting a brigade of lycra clad Mums of three coming in asking about the Lexmoto CBT discount.
Trump is still throwing his hissy fit about the “snowflakes” not letting the Americans build his Wall that he promised the Mexicans would pay for. In the UK we are still dribbling towards a parting of ways with the EU led by people who don’t w...ant to leave in the first place.
The French Riots have calmed down a bit now, it seems that the French government draw the line at only 2 months of Riots.
I feel like Kickstart are the only ones keeping things positive! We’re up on bike sales compared to last year. We are having a decent start to the year out with me in the stores and things are looking fresh after a bit of a change around earlier this week and with the birth of “the Brickyard.”

Kickstart motorcycles Owner/founder/boss Paul was born and raised in Port Talbot. He often tells me about when the town was much busier than it is today. When there were more jobs than people and a vibrant nightlife and a greater sense of belonging.
Paul was one of the first few to head up to see the Art left by Banksey and offered Ian (the guy who’s wall it is) to put up a Perspex cover free of charge.
He did this as he feels that the piece was done for the town itself, whi...ch has been struggling of late. With the worst Christmas in retail for the last decade and other factors the high street degradation is a real threat to stores such as our own.
We have seen that the council have opened a line of communication with Ian, in the hope of either preserving the work where it is, or moving it into town to try and increase footfall.
It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for the town to promote itself through a culturally significant piece that many have sought out over this festive period.
Kickstart has raised our banners in the hope that bringing the issue to the forefront of peoples minds will encourage the local council to redouble their efforts, put their hands in their pockets and Keep this artwork where it was intended to be.
Paul even had a chat with Jason Mohammed on BBC Radio Wales this week to talk about it!
