WARNING: Look away if you don't like spiders!
Well done to visitor Shaun, seen here with our Tarantula Speedy, facing one of his fears. He did this for GISH. This year GISH has partnered with Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, a charity dedicated to rescuing dogs and cats.
Our animal encounters barn gives a great opportunity to get a close encounter with live mammals, reptiles, arachnids, invertebrates and owls. Both fun and educational, you will get to the chance to ask our team ques...tions at the interactive tables. You too will have the chance to handle from a range of species here at Knockhatch. Are you brave enough to handle a snake, hissing cockroach, lizard or spider?

šŸ¦‰This is the adorable OpticšŸ¦‰
At 4 weeks old he/she (sex wonā€™t be known for a few more weeks) is going through the imprinting stage with Owen, who is looking after Optic here at Knockhatch and at home too.
This is to get Optic used to people and different surroundings and thereā€™s quite a bond already! We hope that this gorgeous Spectacled Owl will be ready in a few months to become part of the Knockhatch owl show and experience days.

We're pleased to announce that Mother and baby are doing very well.

We went for the first time Sunday with our twins just turned 5 and some friends and we all had a lovely time my only issue was we didn't receive our email booking and when we called no one answered and didn't reply to our emails but nice clean place and we all had a lovely day

User

We took my daughter on her 5th birthday last Saturday, we had a really nice day the park is clean and tidy all the staff were so helpful and friendly. My daughter had a wonderful day until we got half way home and she couldnā€™t find her unicorn fingerling, I posted on here and got a response straight away ļæ½ they advised they would look for it, Sunday said nothing found but this morning they messaged to say that they had found it what amazing customer service and we now have a very happy 5 year old again ļæ½ as she has been with daddy to collect it already ļæ½ thank you Knockhatch !! We will see you soon for another great day out ļæ½

We (the little lad I work with and I) chose to visit Knockhatch on 4th April mainly because Alice Circus Adventures were there. Nathan has complex needs and is a wheelchair user and although we joined in with a craft activity, he most enjoyed the interaction with all the cast particularly the Mad Hatter and Alice. Thank you for being inclusive to all and giving him a special experience too (I took photos which his Parents are happy for me to share...)

I'll be visiting again tomorrow (13th) with another lad I work with who will I know enjoy the adventure park and the drama group....thank you also to Knockhatch for having Changing Place facilities as it means we can stay all day...

User

Spent the day at Knockhatch yesterday and it was amazing. Havenā€™t been here for a few years. Couldnā€™t believe how friendly most of the staff were, just as we were leaving, a male member of staff stopped us to confirm we had enjoyed our day and to wish us a safe travel home. How lovely is that!!

Canā€™t wait to come back

User

So impressed with Knockhatch today. Considering getting an annual pass. I have been several times over the years but you can tell they have invested a lot into their new facilities recently. Reasonably priced food and drinks and plenty of undercover seating. If I had one tiny whinge it would be that the staff are not well trained in customer service. For instance, I bought ice creams and the young girl didn't give me enough change. When I questioned her she agreed it was wrong, but said she couldn't open the till! So I just shrugged and left with no change. I thought the dinosaurs, slides, play areas, and just everything was better than I expected. Well done Knockhatch (but perhaps get some of the staff trained in better service as they don't smile or seem to try and please anyone).

User

Since visiting knockhatch the last few weeks Iv been so happy with the customer service and with what is offered to those with a dairy intolerance! My little boy canā€™t have dairy at all and they offer dairy free ice cream dairy free chocolate to and the ladies in froggies went out of there way to make my little boy a lunch bag all dairy free! So nice to go somewhere with a bit more variety for him and he really enjoyed his Ice cream and didnā€™t feel left out with his friends he was with for a change! Thankyou knockhatch!!

My son bought my husband and I an Owl Encounter at Knockhatch. Did it today with the fabulous Owen. For someone so young, he is so knowledgeable and dedicated to his job. We had an absolutely fabulous time and enjoyed every moment. Thanks Owen for your time and making our day so enjoyable. Glenis and Trevor

Such an amazing place to visit with the family, the discount available if you book online or by using a 1066 card is well worth it!! User

I visited knockhatch last week and I have to say I am so impressed with the place we was there all day and still didn't manage explore every part of the park, it was a lovely quiet day and we was able to have one on one with Owen(I think) his knowledge in owls and birds of prey for someone so young was incredible and he was absolutely amazing with my daughter when it came to handling the owls. He gave us such a wonderful experience that we wouldn't of been able to have had it been so busy. We had a lovely day and can't wait to come back, it's a shame we live so far away or we would be buying the year pass.

User

I have to say the last time I came to knockhatch I had a very upsetting experience and was totally shocked by how it was delt with and vowed to not come back again but after a while I decided I would go back and give the place a chance and I am really glad I did we had a wonderful day and thanks to polices being changed and refurbishment in the food areas my son was able to have lunch there too which before he wasn't able as nothing was suitable and we were left very upset that he wasn't even allowed to eat his own food in froggies while we all ate ours we ordered but today on the off chance I thought I would ask if the sausages were allergy friendly and a lovely young blonde girl rushed over and did everything possible to find something he could eat even showing me a new line of gluten dairy wheat free food they have now started selling and my son was finally able to sit and eat with his cousins eating almost the same thing!! Only an allergy parent or sufferer will understand my joy ļæ½ I didn't get the lovely young lady's name but thank you, it meant more than you know!

User

I visited Knockhatch today for the first time with my family & we all loved it! There was so much to do & the staff were so friendly & helpful. My son especially enjoyed seeing the moving dinosaurs, as he is mad on them, but also loved the quad ride, feeding the animals, canoe ride, indoor & outdoor play areas & the owl show. Well worth the money, we will definitely be returning. Thank you for a fabulous experience! Xx

User

Had an excellent day yesterday - always a different experience every time we visit! Went on the slides in the Dinosaur zone, fed the goats and llamas (only 50p a cup - got two for my girls and it was great), went on the Quadapiller - my 6 yr old rode alone, my 2 1/2 yr old on my lap, saw the cute Wallabies, had a picnic lunch outside, went on the runaway train simulator, went to see the owls, went to the playground and fun out door slide and zip wire, boating on the pond, went on the high water slide (height 120cm my 6 yr old loves it!), bouncey pillows (my 2 yr old loves them!), sandpit and wooden village playground and finally the motorised mini motorbikes (6 yr old rode by herself and my 2 yr old with me sat behind (Ā£1 per bike to ride) we packed that into 5 hrs but there was still so much to see and do! Best day of the Summer hols so far!xx

User

Had a great day today at Knockhatch, all the staff were so helpful & friendly (special mention to Jemma F in the lost world playbarn who was so friendly and great with the kids). Can't fault it at all, so clean everywhere, and the sun was shining! def recommend.

User

Had a really great day here today, the new Jurassic world was excellent. Just one thing I thought was a bit of a disappointment was having to pay for 2oz of hot water to put in my babies bottle. Never have I been anywhere that makes you pay for a tiny bit of hot water!

User

We visited as a family of 5 for May Day bank holiday, was actually surprised that it has improved since our last visit slightly, but disappointed with the quality of the footpaths, as a disabled guests and with a buggy it made manoeuvring interesting.

As it was really sunny we really struggled to find shaded seating where we could eat our picnic lunch as we were moved whenever we sat, as the shaded areas were only for food buying customers.

Staff were friendly but lacked basic communication skills, I feel this is because majority of the staff are children themselves, I was stared at and talked about while sat breastfeeding my newborn baby.

Animal enclosures looked old and worn, the place could be done up & the amount of plastics being used onsite should be address considering conservation and animal welfare should be your main priority.

Not sure weā€™d visit again in a hurry.

User

I was not happy that when I purchased my familyā€™s annual membership, I was not informed about the discount I would get on food . I went on to buy us all lunch, ice creams etc. When I got home and found out about the discount after browsing the pamphlet I took home , I raised my dissatisfaction by email, just saying I think I could have been informed at the point of sale that I get a discount on food.

I had a condescending reply of this

Hello Thank you for your constructive comments, we will ensure that our entrance staff are more consistent with telling new annual pass holders to check our website for annual card information and for the terms and conditions. Have a lovely weekend.

No apology or acknowledgement of what Iā€™m asking, just a robotic reply referring me to the website. Not good enough IMO, poor customer service has let you down Knockhatch.

User

Gutted as itā€™s a lovely park, just confronted with an aggressive, ā€œIā€™ll go out of my way to be argumentativeā€, womanising-staff member ... maybe his age came into play that like a petulant child wouldnā€™t listen to reasoning, but instead focused on the need to get ā€œthe last word inā€! This ruined my day! Gutted to say the least!!

User

I was very concerned after our brief ā€œtrainingā€ on the quad bikes and the admission that it could be dangerous unless we followed the rules. Unfortunately my concerns were realised when one of our party came off their quad bike and ended up in a ditch with it on top of him. He was taken to hospital in Hastings (he lives near Sutton) where it was discovered he has broken his pelvis in 3 places. We all felt that although we were warned about the dangers, as novices, we shouldnā€™t have been expected to negotiate such rough terrain after 10 minutes training.
