Margot, the cloakroom attendant of a national museum, entertains the audience with her daily stories, while weighing the challenges of a serious relationship and of the unavoidable dilemma: ‘to be or not to be a parent? With wit and sensitivity, artefacts become alive and visitors take mythical dimensions. Dante’s condemned lovers, an unfortunate French queen and an inquisitive boy help Margot balance on a suspended world of imagination, aspirations and self – fulfillment.

“Exodus 3.14" is an examination of the fundamental reasons underlying the angst of human existence, and the ways one's self limits their freedom. "Who am I? What's my purpose? Am I free?"
These are some of the intrinsic questions we attempt to answer through the physical and verbal interaction of a human being with his heart, mind, body and memory, during the incessant and cyclical course of life, further complicated by its modern-day reflection.
In our first devised perform...ance and work in progress we aim at exploring the angst of human existence, as well as personal freedom and its limits, predominantly through the means of physical theatre.
We were inspired by Ascesis: "The Saviors of God", a classical modern Greek philosophical text by Nikos Kazantzakis and also ‘Invisible Cities’ , a book by Italo Calvino.
The performance will be part of THEATRE IN THE POUND, an award winning evening of new theatre at The Cockpit.
The piece will be mainly performed in Greek, but there will be surtitles in English.
