This week at Lansdowne:
It has been Healthy Eating Week and the children have been learning about the five key elements to help them stay healthy:
Drink plenty, Eat 5 a day, Sleep well, Get active,Have breakfast. Did you join in with the challenge this week?
... Well done to our handful of year 4 and 5 children who were invited to a writing workshop with the children's author Brian Moses. They had a fantastic day writing poetry and were really proud of their work. Brian commented on how impressed he was at how hard our children from Lansdowne worked.
Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed a trip to Canterbury Christchurch University yesterday where they thought about what they might like to study when they are older and learnt all about University life.
Don't forget:
Next week we will be running an E-Safety workshop for all parents in collaboration with one of our local PCSOs - Ian Henderson. The workshop will focus on the latest apps and websites your children might be accessing and how to support your child to enjoy the internet safely. We look forward to welcoming you for this event at 2.30pm on Thursday 20th June.

This week at Lansdowne:
For their Stunning Start to their topic, Year 2 enjoyed a drama workshop with Fresh Water Theatre Company based on the Katie Morag stories, before making models of the Isle of Struay.
The whole school were also very lucky to have a visit from the children's author, Amicia de Moubray. Last term, Hogwarts class won a regional competition for our school by reading for a record breaking amount of minutes for Buster Book Club. Every child in their class received a voucher to visit Pirate Cove Mini Golf!

We greatly value our partnership with parents and aim to communicate with you as best we can.
From September 2018, to improve our carbon footprint, reduce the use of paper and ensure important messages get delivered to you, rather than lost in the bottom of a book bag, we started using our digital communication app weduc as the primary way of communicating with our parents.
Weduc allows parents to receive messages from the school and have access to our school social newsfeed,... calendar, and notice board. Parents can also message the school from their app.
We want your views on how well you think the school communicates with you, so that we can look at ways of improving communication further. We would very much appreciate it if you were able to take a few minutes of your time to answer the questions in this survey. All responses are anonymous.
