My gorgeous and amazing designer friend is making me a bespoke dress, and she wanted a bit of inspiration to help start her design, the conversation was not as straight forward as I think her initial question led her to believe.
Her: So in just a couple of words what sort of style would you like?
... Me: So I would like something for the summer Sort of evening-y I like it nipped in at waist ideally so poss a belt Lower neck so I can wear a big necklace with it Something that makes me look super hot and when I see it in the mirror I go "wow that makes me look super hot" Maybe slightly intimidating can a dress be intimidating?? Is that a thing? Definitely red. So perhaps think dragon lady/fire priestess as your inspiration without the sacrificial elements or fire Or just make it fireproof? And it has to make me look tall (not like the Mountain of course)
Her: I shall have a go..... Hang on I am not making anything that looks like it belongs in game of thrones!
Me: 1950s Game of thrones great idea. perfect. THANKS!
Her: Hmmm. Well I'll have a think.... How about Scandi prints?
Me: but they aren't intimidating, more homely....and less firey
Her: Yes but think of how you would match your new lounge...
Me: Hmmm true
I think we may need restart this conversation with a touch more realism...or not.... 1950s Game of Thrones would be IDEAL.

Who spotted the er.... "deliberate" mistake?! We love vintage but who knew we were actually living a whole year in the past!
