Delayed flight, always a frustration but even at midnight the staff in duty free, the cleaners and security were pleasant and helpful...delays canā€™t be helped at times, and as annoying as it is, having some pleasant people to deal with made it that bit more bearable... so thanks staff of Stansted, Iā€™m sure itā€™s not always easy but I think you rock!

You really need to provide more seating in the main area. Every time I come here there are people sitting piled all over each other and on the floor. Today is especially bad. Thereā€™s enough seating at the gates but as you donā€™t show this until 1 hr beforehand the main area is just crammed full of people. It is very uncomfortable.

Weā€™ve just had quite an experience trying to get my mum safely on to her flight. She doesnā€™t speak English and can get confused so we asked the assistance team if they could help but was told they couldnā€™t unless she had a physical disability and was directed to customer service who tried to help but couldnā€™t and directed us back to her airline Thomas cook who would not help at all. We then took her down to the security area where Mr Robert Kaywood (I hope I have remembered his name correctly) was the most helpful gentlemen we found. He told us exactly where she would need to go, told us the gate and even brought her through as it was on his way. Without him this airport would have had no stars. They need more people like him!

Well, a mixed bag. The departure terminal was busy but not dangerously packed like last time. Back in arrivals after our holiday, we had to wait 20 minutes for our baggage, which was disappointing but not too bad, I suppose. We left our car in the Meet & Greet Premium car park. Drop off was excellent, but..... When we came to collect the car they'd lost the keys! We were kept waiting for 30 minutes while they searched the place. When we got the keys, we found the car wasn't where it was suppose to be. It took another 15 minutes to find it. Not what we'd paid for! I complained using their online feedback. No reply so after two weeks I emailed again. Another week and still no reply. Conclusion: when it works it's good, but it does sometimes go wrong and when it does, their customer service is diabolical. The lack of response after three weeks is appalling. It seems once they have your money, that's it, they don't care at all.

what a ignorance of customers !!!! shocking!!!! I have made an complaint through their site as asked for at the airport that was on 12.06.18 had no replay even tho they promise to get back to you within 5-10 working days ā€¦. then I send follow up complaint on 21.06.18 and 05.07.18 and still have no answer what so ever!!!!! no telephone number to speak to a person as well... I am not going to leave this like that very upset

Worst day i have ever had in my life and my luggage has gone walkies! Total chaos! You should be ashamed of yourselves! Luggage everywhere and passengers left totally unaware of what was happening!!!! Will never ever fly from here again and as im sure many many other passengers will do the same! This airport is getting worse: it always take more than 20 minutes to get the luggage from the hold, like it happened today. After that, we couldnā€™t get out of the airport because of an alarm coming from somewhere but we didnā€™t know anything, no information from the staff. So stuck there for 10 minutes.

Now we are stuck in the coach station because none of the national service buses going to Stratford is working. We already changed 2 buses and still not going away from this place. In addition, staff is very rude and aggressive to people, staff not prepared and not organised to face any inconvenience and not able to give the right assistance to the travellers. We could not take our luggage from the first to the second bus: we all tried to save time as only 2 staff are moving the luggages and itā€™s taking forever. When we tried to take our own luggage they stopped us like we were thieves. Disgusting people. One star! Wow, Congratulations ļæ½

Rammed full of crowds, majority of flights delayed, no explanation offered. We canā€™t even get into the airport lounge we paid for because it is at capacity.



Had put this as a 2 on the basis that the delay might not be your fault (although given that you havenā€™t acknowledged it or explained it - the full extent of info is that my flight was scheduled for half an hour ago, no delay mentioned) but then saw the toilets which are ... completely uncivilised.



Appalling experience - will be avoiding this airport in future as youā€™re not meeting basic requirements.

Pathetic airport: late gate assignments and changes lead to utter chaos, with masses of people left clueless and crowding the main hall. The unfriendly and similarly clueless personnel doesnā€™t help to make this better. No displays showing overall departures once in a particular finger - and the displays showing the departures in the finger are incomplete & erroneous.



I will do my best to avoid this airport in the future whenever I can and strongly advise everyone to do the same.

Never experienced such incompetence from any airport before. The staff cannot direct you anywhere. A security guard purposefully went as slow as he could to search an unnecessary bag to remove all creams and liquids to put them in a smaller bag after explaining that I was going to miss my flight, which resulted in my family and I missing our plane. Only to go to baggage reclaim to get 3 out of the 4 bags, even though customs says they put all 4 bags on the belt. Trying to track my bag while having to pay an additional Ā£400 for another flight which the airport made us miss. Only to find out the plane took off 50 minuets after they closed the gate. Refusing to let us on, saying they were going to offload our bags instead of letting us off instead which would take half the time.



150 people missed the 8:15 flights this morning. This just shows how there is clearly a problem in the system which is costing a lot of people their hard earned money and their time, only resulting in the airport making massive profits from this. Scrolling through the reviews is no surprise, numerous complaints about airport security bullying customers, taking advantage of situations and no one willing to try do something that provides help without them asking for more money.



No compensations given whatsoever. Utterly disgusted. I highly recommend finding another airport to fly from/to.



Customers should not be expected to pay for mistakes made by the airport.

Never again fly from this airport. We was everywhere on time waiting on que go to plane. 11 us was flying and we decide go buy water but machine next to gate was broken so 3 of us go for water. We was going back to duty free and on tunel on the way back we keep right how was sings. Then we see we are going wrong way ( after 30sec walk )so we come back but girl sitting in front of tunel didnt let us go back to our gate we didnt leave any security area or didnt go to any exit. First question from here where are you from ? So we start wasting time i tell her we need go back to gate because we will miss fly she start checking our tickets slowly one by one then tell us we need go to exit of airport and go trought security check again. So we run all airport buy fast track but miss the fly. They close like 1 minute in front of us even if i call my friend we are running. Then they 30 minutes taking out our bags from plane. We go back to girl but she already change with somebody he tell us he will let us go to gate of course there is no problem why not. I call manager and he tell he will check it on cameras ( i dont think he did ) he didnt even take contact from us. They kick us out from secure area and tell us wait for bags. We wait for bags and book other flights. When i leave next day girl was on first security check when she saw me she imidiately hide her card with name and on my question what is your name she start screaming to contiune walking and other security guy come to me i tell him call me manager and tell what happened. He tell me to sit down and wait. After 30 minutes waiting i saw manager so i go directly to him and ask if anybody tell him i am waiting for him answer was no and i ask id he check it and it was our fold. I think all proces will be faster if there will be Monkeys instead of this security.

I was picking up my mother and had to wait for 4 hours as her luggage was delayed. When I spoke to a utterly rude and useless guy at information desk, he laughed at my face, saying the contractor responsible is short staff. This was just a poor excuse as flight that landed after my motherā€™s had their luggage in the hall already. When I asked to speak to his superior he refused, and when I said Iā€™d like to take a note of his name to put in a written complaint, he refused, too! Really poor customer service! Having read other reviews, perhaps management wants to do something about it? Embarrassing! Mr @Ken Oā€™Toole, anything to add?

I have started to fly more regularly due to work and personal trips and have flown from Stansted on at least 5 flights in the last year, but I am still yet to experience a flight that actually leaves on time.



Whether Jet2 or Ryanair I have always experienced at least 30 minute delays because of traffic control, whether we are ready to depart on time or early.



I am writing this review as I currently sit facing 3 hour delays on my Ryanair flight to Milan.



I personally will be trying to avoid flying from this airport again and hope other people's experiences are better than mine.

I can understand why you have ā€œabuse will not be toleratedā€ everywhere because this airport fucking sucks. How can you have 3/8 desks open at the border at a peak time? This is the most incompetent place I have ever been to. Avoid this place at all costs unless you have 2 hours to kill waiting to get into the country. Donā€™t have plans for the rest of the day you arrive.

Horrible, horrible airport.

Everyone understands the importance of security in this day and age, but I had to listen to the security man next to me bully an Italian family, simple because they didn't understand the system, and didn't want to be separated from their children. Then as an extra treat I had to endure, as a professional and mature woman, being called 'darling' throughout my experience at security. Rubbish literally overflowing in the departure lounge, dirty and not enough seats.

No information given re my delayed flight. Literally nothing. Eventually sent to a gate, where we stood like sheep, only to be moved again. No information given, and when I politely asked for some, I was told the tannoy wasn't working. Well, that's ok then. The escalator was cordoned off, even though it was clearly working, (your staff were allowed to use it), and we had to make our way down to the plane by the stairs with suitcases and children. No apology was given to why we were delayed, and the gate staff were unfriendly, and unhelpful.

I was trying to work out why your staff are rude and sullen, and then realised it was in fact contempt, and not the former. You treat your customers like animals, and have created a atmosphere of fear if we complain at the airport, as this poor Italian family found out.

You have a charter I noticed to protect your staff from unacceptable behaviour, but who looks looks after us?

Do you want to explain why you have no ground staff to remove bags from a plane? I'm currently on a Ryanair flight that is already over an hour and a half delayed, only to be told Stansted don't have staff to remove bags from the plane and load our bags on. Even the pilot is getting annoyed and when it's a Ryanair flight that's more organised than you (not by much!) that shows just how poor you are.

Awful airport, not had a good experience yet. Waited 2 hours for bags to come through on domestic, longer wait than my flight!!! Apparently this is not unusual but even more frustrating there were no announcements and anyone who came through with a high vis jacket got accousted for information, itā€™s basic psychology to know this is going to aggrevate the situation even more! However a big thank you to lady from greater anglia and the paramedics who looked over my baby. Come on managers, I know weā€™re a captive audience but it wouldnā€™t take much to improve your services...

Arrived early but couldnā€™t park up. Baggage hall packed and still waiting 25 mins on!! Not impressive and cant be just cos theyā€™re busy as we all know itā€™s busy at this time of year!!

Arrived at Stansted after a delay of 2 hours at Dalaman airport. Never been to Stansted before so followed the other passengers down a flight of steps to get a bus to the main airport. Door was locked so waited 10 minutes only to be told we had to go to another place. Get to the other place, then told to go back where we had originally been waiting. Finally, got on a bus which took us to join the queue at Passport Control - and what a queue this was! Had to wait almost 2 hours in this queue to get passport checked as there were only 3 officers working. We had already missed our first coach due to the delay in turkey, then missed a second bus due to the delay at passport control. Had to then wait an hour and a half for another coach. No waiting rooms, departure lounge seats full and people sleeping on floors and across benches. What a shambolic place this is! Never again will I moan about Gatwick!

Even the pilot is getting annoyed and when it's a Ryanair flight that's more organised than you (not by much!) that shows just how poor you are.

Awful airport, not had a good experience yet. Waited 2 hours for bags to come through on domestic, longer wait than my flight!!! Apparently this is not unusual but even more frustrating there were no announcements and anyone who came through with a high vis jacket got accousted for information, itā€™s basic psychology to know this is going to aggrevate the situation even more! However a big thank you to lady from greater anglia and the paramedics who looked over my baby. Come on managers, I know weā€™re a captive audience but it wouldnā€™t take much to improve your services...

Arrived early but couldnā€™t park up. Baggage hall packed and still waiting 25 mins on!! Not impressive and cant be just cos theyā€™re busy as we all know itā€™s busy at this time of year!!



Landed over an hour ago and still waiting for bags to arrive in hall. This is no t a good experience!!

Arrived at Stansted after a delay of 2 hours at Dalaman airport. Never been to Stansted before so followed the other passengers down a flight of steps to get a bus to the main airport. Door was locked so waited 10 minutes only to be told we had to go to another place. Get to the other place, then told to go back where we had originally been waiting. Finally, got on a bus which took us to join the queue at Passport Control - and what a queue this was! Had to wait almost 2 hours in this queue to get passport checked as there were only 3 officers working. We had already missed our first coach due to the delay in turkey, then missed a second bus due to the delay at passport control. Had to then wait an hour and a half for another coach. No waiting rooms, departure lounge seats full and people sleeping on floors and across benches. What a shambolic place this is! Never again will I moan about Gatwick!
