During the Second World War, women were recruited to sustain the war effort back home. This poster by Eric Henri Kennington, 1944, shows a firefighter who worked during the Blitz. It was one of a series commissioned by London Transport to commemorate everyday acts of heroism by civilian workers. See the poster for yourself as part of our Representing Women Poster Parade http://ow.ly/CMRV30luu5i #LTMCollections #BehindEveryGreatCity

we absolutely loved our afternoon at the transport museum on a very wet bank holiday Monday! Our 2.5 year old transport fanatic was in awe... he loves trains and buses so this was like heaven for him! even better as kids are free and we got 2for1 with rail ticket voucher

User

VERY modern museum and i truly enjoyed myself. It's kids oriented so great for parents but I am 37 and i enjoyed it very much too. It's beside Covent Garden so just pop over if you pass by. The entrance is at the back if you come from the main road

User

Thoroughly recommend a trip to the London Transport Museum to entertain the little ones (and pretty interesting for parents too!) We took our 3 and 5 years old one Sunday afternoon and had a great few hours there. The interactive role play areas are particularly good and facilities are set up with families in mind. We will be making use of our 12 month pass. For those reviewers who have written negative comments because of the number of kids - they’re correct it is packed at the weekends/school holidays with children, which shouldn’t be surprising, particularly given the museum advertises that kids go free. I would suggest for adults without kids to go during school term time or later in the afternoon when the kids are exhausted!

User

This is any kids paradise. My son is 1.5 years old and we have to come back again soon as I never seen him so excited. He could touch the buses, press buttons and experience lots of things. Amazing place to take your children to ! Will come back again.

User

Thank you so much for today’s SEN event!! My son and I had a fantastic time exploring all around the museum, so many wonderful vehicles and activities!! Great experience!! :)

User

One of the best and my favourite museum to visit in central london. If anybody is a transport enthusiast then this is definitely the place for you to visit.

User

Managed to squeeze this in at the end of the day with having already been half way over London. My little girl loved that you could sit on some of the trains and buses, also the fact there was small play area for little children she took great advantage in playing on this address had a lovely time. She even asked me to go back the next day!

User

Loved the museum. It was our first visit. It costs a lot to go in but you can return as many times as you like for up to 12 months. We enjoyed the vehicles, the story time, the bus on the top floor and tube which you can drive, aldo the play bus on the ground floor, we enjoyed lunch and getting our cards stamped. Giving out old fashioned bus tickets was a nice touch and we loved meeting the 'fluffer' on the war time bus. All in all a great day out. We will certainly be back!

User

Great for a fun family day out. Lots of interactive things for the children.

Gift shop is pretty pricey though, £60 for a cushion!

User

Excellent museum, full of interest for all ages. From the oldest who will remember much of the older exhibits and the history before those, to the youngest visitor who will find lots of hands on things to try.

And you can come back again within 12 months. Stunning.

User

Beware, this is not a museum it’s a kids playground!

Unsupervised kids running around, screaming infants, school parties with kids too young to benefit from anything on display. Complete waste of time for adults who have a serious interest in the history of London Transport.

User

A fabulous museum with lots to see and do for all ages. Could easily spend a small fortune in the museum shop. The number of seemingly unsupervised child running wild was a bit of a pain though. Best time to go is when the kids are at school.

User

We took our kids age 8 and 3 there, my boys are fan off buses and trains and they had great couple hours there. We got a year pass tickets so will be back at summer school.

User

Was my second time here, first was something like in 1999 😉. But liked it. All London transport since 1800 are presented, you can climb, hop on and off different transport starting from omnibus. It’s interesting both got adults and kids. You can by your pass online, it’s cheapet and present your purchase on the screen of your mobile phone, so everything is smooth and convenient. And your pass is valid for the year. Children till 18 go for free, so it is very friendly.

User

Originally we had lunch and a browse in the shop in here last september before seeing a show. Then in march we made it a thing we had to do for our birthday. Would love to take my dad here but he's too ill.

User

Good time. But at the lower deck cafe i wanted a Bakerloo Brown Sundae but they said they dont sell this ecen though its advertised on the wall. The manager told me that didnt have the ingredients. Very poor customer seevice. Also the staff were more interested in chatting up the young female customers then cleanung the tables.

User

We went on a Friday late "Bright young things" Expected more for the cost of the ticket. Disappointed in the curation of the event and lack of refreshment choices.

Unlikely we will be choo-choosing to be returning any time soon!

User

Not clear concept. Advertised to be kids friendly , but you can only go inside of max 5 trains/buses. And only to very limited space. Almost nothing to touch/push etc for kids. Enormous amount of people who do sort of picnic there. It is can be interesting from 10+. But filled by small kids who has nothing to do so no rest and chance to enjoy time for adults as well. It is built to be for adult. But most probably museum decided to invite more kids ( who demand 3 pounds for battle water etc). Good idea but the museum should be much more interactive for this!

User

Worst experience ever. For the amount that I paid I thought I could have expected more inside the museum. With all the small children yelling and screaming and taking over all the interactive displays it was hard for an adult to get close to some of them. I was glad to get out of there I will never go back again. To me it was like a daycare unsupervised.
