Joint birthday cake for a lovely Grandad and his granddaughter 🎂❤️

Hi everyone! I know I haven't posted for a long time (as Ive ceased trading) but I just wanted to share this cake with you! I made it for my friends daughters birthday party which was today. She provided me the figurines and I built the castle to showcase them all! In real life this was a very twinkly cake, something that the pictures never seem to show well but at any rate the birthday girl loved it so I am a happy baker! Happy 5th birthday Saoirse! X

Just over 3 years ago, in May 2012, I set up Lucy's Little Cake Kitchen. I did it off the back of some wonderful comments about a couple of cakes I had made for family members. Having fairly recently had two children and having given up my job to care for them I decided to give it a go and see if I could earn myself some pocket money. I never could have predicted how much my fledgling little business would take off. Fast forward three years to now an...d I've managed to gain two qualifications in cake decorating, a steady stream of customers and I have amassed over 2000 likers on my Facebook page. It hasn't always been easy, I've spent many a night working until dawn to finish a project but looking back at my photographs I can honestly say I'm proud of what I've achieved in a relatively short space of time. So it is with some degree of sadness that I am writing to announce that I shall be shutting down the cake kitchen as I return to part time employment out in the "real world"! I am, however, really excited about facing a new challenge and I feel that this is the right step for me and my little family. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your valued support over the years, your comments and likes have given me such a confidence boost and a determination to get better with each task that I undertook. I still have some orders to fulfil before I close and one or two possible orders for future cakes which have been quoted for and will be fulfilled if the orders come my way. Thank you all, Lucy xxx

Huge congratulations to Liam and Emma, who married in Malta last week and are celebrating back in the UK with their family and friends this evening.
I made this red velvet cake and cupcake tower for them which included a dozen gluten free cupcakes too 😊
