Fitting another @nest thermostat today for an energy consumption conscious client, this smart stat will reduce energy consumption and hopefully save them a few pennies as well!

Today’s job was PA testing or commonly known as PAT testing, at an industrial location we regularly perform maintenance and installation work, it’s our first time testing the Portable appliances here, the - do the minimum attitude is always quite disappointing to see, the previous company must have tested this and many other appliances, 7-8 times and not once took an extra few seconds to clear the huge amount of dust encased on the fan, this will almost certainly shorten the ...life span when used again, with the nature of the environment we built in some routine maintenance with the cost of the testing, this allows us the extra few seconds to give the fan a quick wipe and hopefully lengthen it’s life span, likely saving the client money Long term. A small slightly larger contract this time will potentially save a considerable amount of money long term, there are over 300 appliances to test.

When PA testing we will always send an engineer who knows about the equipment they are working on, this Mig welder had a high reading for Earth continuity (meaning the metal casing didn’t have a low enough reading to Earth, which could potentially lead to a shock hazard), our engineer with knowledge of these appliances was able to fix the issue in less than 10 minutes meaning no down time of equipment at a vital servicing time of year for the Client and a pass sticker!
