We don't deny its tricky to know how much sugar is actually in so many drinks/convenient foods/snacks today! The best advice we have is to stick to water between meals, and to have healthy savoury snacks that you know all the ingredients of!!
Also be careful of 'no added sugar' items- this doesn't mean sugar free.... for example squash! It will still decay your teeth!!!

We know we post about toothpaste fads a lot- but it's something we all see on social media daily- so it's important to be in the know!
Charcoal, sea salt and coconut oil toothpastes/mouthwashes... make sure you know what they are doing to your teeth before spending ££ and potentially damaging your pearly whites!

Lichen planus is a very common oral disease that we see in practice. It usually presents as white patches on the inside of the cheeks. Diagnosis is made through a biopsy- so if you notice white painless patches in your mouth always see your dentist to confirm it's nothing more sinister.

Special thanks to my dentist Kaity Chapman, to dental nurses Chelsea and Polly, to Mr Tighe and Mr Gibbs for their specialist work and hygienist Sharon who's methods are pain free and to receptionist Linda.The practice is very lucky to have her. Everyone is very professional, kind and thoughtful. I thoroughly recommend becoming a patient.

The best dental practice I've ever been to. With a fear of needles I was very nervous for 4 injections and a double wisdom tooth extraction but the care and compassion shown by Katie and John was excellent. Katie Chapman, is such a professional, she is clearly talented, uses the most up to date practice.

She is so caring, for anxious patients like myself, she is fabulous, clearly explaining what she is going to do, then gives you a step by step commentary, praising with reassuring tonality.



Sharon the hygienist, is also a professional, educating you in what to do. She somehow motivates you to ensure you clean your teeth consistently, as you want a good mark, on.your next visit.



The reception staff are also brilliant, along with the dental nurses. Everyone wants to make your visit enjoyable.



The environment is so calming, I actually look forward to my visits at Lushington Dental Practice.

Katie Chapman is an extremely talented, professional, and wonderfully caring dentist!



After using an awful NHS dentist throughout my childhood, I developed a genuine phobia of the dentist, the thought of going alone was enough to make me feel sick and anxious. As a result, I stopped going to the dentist all together and didn’t really care about my oral hygiene. As I grew up, I began to appreciate the importance of looking after my teeth, but knew how much work I would need doing so put it off once again.



Then I met Katie and she made me feel at ease right from the start. Knowing how nervous I was, she took the time to explain everything to me and paid attention to my body language throughout the process, making sure I was okay. 1 root canal, 7 fillings, and 9 hours later, I can honestly say that I didn’t feel any pain and will definitely be going to the dentist as regularly as I should, with no fear or second thoughts. All of the fillings have been completed to the highest standard, and I have not had a single problem with any of them following the treatment. I am extremely happy with the results (you wouldn’t even be able to tell that there are fillings there at all!).



A massive thanks to Katie and the rest of the team at Lushington Road dental practice. They are all super friendly, caring, and professional. I would recommend this dental practice to my friends, family, and just about anybody that asks. I am almost looking forward to my next dental appointment!

I've never much enjoyed visiting the dentist but since joining this practice I feel completely different. My dentist is approachable, gentle and very clear in her feedback. I receive excellent advice and so I don't feel like there will be any nasty surprises around the corner. I'm even looking forward to taking my son who has just got his first tooth!

I've been coming to this dental practice for quite a few years now and it really is a lovely environment. Luckily I've never had a fear of the dentist & Anjali our dentist & Sharon the Hygienist really does make my 2 young girls & my partner feel welcome & relaxed. They both take the time to advise you on what you should or shouldn't be doing etc to your teeth. Both very helpful & professional & I would highly recommend them. The reception staff have always been so lovely & helpful to me. Nicest dental practice I've ever been too �

I wish I'd found this practice years ago then I wouldn't have had to have the remedial work done. I have a terrible gag reflex and Katie never gets impatient or shows that it's a problem - now when I have to go to the dentist I am not absolutely dreading it as she and everyone else there are fantastic - I even now go to the hygienist!

I've also taken my nephew here and saw another of the dentists (Lindsay) for him and she was equally as good and really put him at his ease.

I have recommended this practice and will continue to do so.

I have been coming to this practice for many years. Everyone I have dealt with is so friendly and professional and I recommend the practice wholeheartedly.

I had my first visit today and saw Sharon the hygienist. Her and the team were all super nice and made me feel at ease. The surgery was all very clean and overall a nice experience. Not something I thought i would ever be able to say about going to the dentist!

I am totally petrified of the dentist well I was until I came here... I have miss kelly and she is lovely I highly recommend her... very gentle and always asking if ur OK. I also have the hygienist sharon and I must say she always is very gentle and pateint with me all the staff are extremely welcoming and freindly I go to the dentist alot now and always come out with wonderful teeth.

I always see Sharon the Hygienist and Katie the Dentist - Both are lovely, very thorough and reassuring.

Fantastic staff from Reception, Hygienist, Dentists and Nurses. From the first encounter of the practice you feel instantly at ease, welcomed and truly looked after. I cannot thank Katie Chapman and the lovely dental nurses enough for making me feel comfortable and less nervous throughout all of my treatment and being 100% honest after having a lot of issues with previous NHS Dental Practices.

The fillings that I received I could feel absolutely no pain or sensation! The outcome was brilliant and throughout the entire treatment they ensured I was okay. The same goes for their wonderful surgeon and his lovely dental nurse who are both wonderful at ensuring you feel okay throughout (even wiping my tears that I couldn't help haha!)
