Wonderful venue - Lion King was amazing and the set and costumes magical and the performances pure Gold! Sat in the stalls on row J6/7 could see and hear perfectly just had the edge of the stage directly in front of us out of sight but it's really minor to be honest. Staff and organisation brilliant - bar prices a little high but none more so than standard cinema rates and to be expected at least it goes towards good work and staff, we're talking £7 for a juicy slush puppy in a souvenir cup, £11 for vodka slush...etc (can't remember much more and that's without me getting an actual Vodka slush)Toilets are enough but a lot of people have the same idea so be quick to go before the show or in the intervals!!

Well, where to begin...

The customer service was absolutely INCREDIBLE. As a disabled person, I often worry about how the facilities will be and whether or not the staff will be able to accommodate my complex needs but the staff were absolutely WONDERFUL. The facilities were perfect and I felt so well taken care of, without having to stress too much about things that usually cause me great anxiety as an autistic person. So I do want to start by thanking the wonderful staff who helped myself and my carer throughout the evening.

The actual show itself- The Lion King- was more magical than I could have ever possibly dreamed. It's been my favourite Disney movie since I was a toddler, and this show lived up to expectation AND SOME. It was just so indescribably superb. The acting, the choreography, the costumes, the makeup, the singing and the atmosphere were above and beyond what I could have hoped for.

I'm still in awe. Waking up this morning felt like a dream.

I do want to particularly note the talent of the actress who played Rafiki. To me, she stole the show. Humorous, vocally outstanding and the acting ability of any Hollywood star.

Thank you Lyceum Theatre. I want to come again already! :)

Visited when i was about 7 it was absolutley amazing. Would love to go again and take my children.

The Lion King... An absolute MUST see. I’ve seen it twice, but I will happily go back again and again and again. The props are superb, especially the elephants and giraffes . The actors and dancers were phenomenal including their singing voices, hats off to all. Please do yourself a favour and go se it. However, I recommend the evening show, the atmosphere is just a tad bit better.

User

If u are thinking about watching the lion king! I recommend it it’s amazing!

User

I saw this on Wednesday 16th May and can’t stop thinking about how amazing it was! Big shout out to everyone involved :) watch out.. I’ll be coming back!

User

I saw the Lion King about 4-5years ago and it was amazing then. I took my mum to see it last night for her birthday and it was out of this world. There was a lot of changes which we fantastic and out of this world for an on stage performance absolutely great show. Only down side are the prices for drinks and snacks a total rip off and if you have kids feed them before you good! Yes it's the theatre but it's way over priced. I agree with another view the seats need upgrading urgently but on the whole great show well worth it. I've seen it twice now so that's it for me. Cast brilliant 5******

User

I had a amazing a day with my loved ones. The Lion King show is the one which must be seen by everyone!

User

Huge thank you for putting on the autism friendly show today. It was fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed it as a family. The thought and effort put into making the event autism friendly was much appreciated. Thank you

User

Great show, rip off prices for food and drink etc but that's to be expected. My view was slightly ruined by the woman in front who sat forwards for the whole show. The actual show was amazing, great performances from all and loved it all. 5 stars for the show and 3 for the actual theatre. The theatre is a bit old and tired and good do with some upgrades and as mentioned rip off prices.

User

Despite it is a Disney movie inspired production, my colleagues and i loved it. I have to say there was a lot of hard work and so much creativity and so much good drama. Good music too I loved it and would consider going again

User

5 stars for an absolutely amazing show but 1* for venue and customer service. Took my Daughter for her birthday and were seated in removable seats that are taken out if needed for wheelchair uses that were broken and very uncomfortable. Asked to be moved but were only offered 2 bar chairs in the back isle with the ushers. Maintenance man came to try and repair the seats at the interval with no luck and I was told that is the best the theatre could offer. Toilets were all blocked so make sure you don’t need to use them. Appreciate the theatre is very old but needs some investment as does not match up to the amazing show. Very poor customer service @Lyceum Theatre.

User

Lovely theatre. Sat in Royal Circle in J9 and the view was very good. The Lion King was a fantastic production with excellent choreography, terrific cast and brilliant scenery. Bar staff were on it and very polite. We really enjoyed the production. Suppose we were surprised though that you let people in so long after it had started. In fact, it was close enough to intermission to ask people to wait. Other than that it's great. Thank you 👍

User

Had a great time here watched the lion king

Had great seats in the royal balcony

Was able to see everything going on

Only downside was the price of a beer and glass of wine was very overpriced at £18.00

Expect to pay a little more but double the normal price is a bit much realy

Especially after you have bought tickets for shows that aren't cheap either

User

A lovely theatre! We had seats in the second row of the Royal Circle and what fantastic seats they are, with a perfect view of the stage! The only thing I will complain about is the extortionate price of food and drinks in the theatre! Two cold drinks and a small tub of Pick 'n Mix sweets cost £12!! Ridiculous as you can't take in your own food and drink! I understand about the cost of merchandise, but food should not be so expensive especially as seat prices aren't cheap. All in all, we enjoyed the Lion King immensely and the theatre staff were lovely so giving it a 4 star recommendation.

User

Went to see the lion king last night and I can't fault the show what so ever, it was truly amazing and I thouroughly enjoyed it, down to the two amazing guys in the royal boxes playing drums and percussion on pretty much every instrument available ( I was mesmerised ) however I've knocked off two stars one being for the over pricing of soft drinks and ice creams they were extortionate, we expect to pay more in a theatre but they were silly prices and we felt sorry for people with children, and the other star was for the uncomfortable seats!! There was no foam left in them what so ever, they were just like sitting on concrete blocks and so uncomfortable, I was in so much pain with my back that it spoilt the last few scenes of the show for me unfortunately, and it wasn't just me as lots of people sitting near and around me were saying the same.

User

The show was fine. This was the second time I seen it, after 12 years. Somehow the first time was better, with only animals and plants, not colorful dancers somehow out of place. But it is beautiful anyway and worth watching it. I did not give a 5 stars as I found the theatre below standards. The seats were super narrow and got leg cramps as there was no space between my knee and the next raw. The guests also had their mobiles on all the time and the screen light was very disturbing (even with a member of staff adverting people). The organizers should emphasize more about having the phones off completly during the show.

User

I love The Lion King movie so why not watch the play. I liked it but very disappointing maintenance, policing of location and rude staff. How can a public setting open with blocked toilets? The ladies was disgusting with every single one blocked and when highlighting it to a member of staff, she ignored it. Also, my ticket said late comers would gain access during intervals. Again, rubbish as staff were taking people in with touches up to 45 min after show started. What about myself who made sure I was there 30 min prior to show starting????? My ticket wasn't cheap so don't I deserve the respect???? People using mobiles phones and instead of staff policing this matter, they went around asking people not to sing to the songs?!?!?! It's a joke. I'm sorry, but I will never visit this theatre again and will discourage friends and family of doing it. Definately will keep with the movie!!!! Disappointing!!!!!
