Macclesfield Library has LOTS to offer: Over 55, 000 books, DVDs and computer games plus free internet access and lots more!
We aim to offer you a wide range of services, providing you with knowledge, entertainment, culture and information. Will you be surprised at what you discover?
It is free to:
1) Join the library.
2) Borrow up to 20 books for 3 weeks at a time.
3) Receive e-mail reminders of when your books are due for return.
4) Join the Under 5s Bookstart Bear Club.
5) Take part in Under 5s Rhymetime (every Monday 14. 30 ŌĆō 15. 00 and Tuesday 11. 00 ŌĆō 11. 30am).
6) Take part in the Summer Reading Challenge (Junior members).
7) Use our computers (including the internet and scanner) for 1 hour.
8) Use the microfilm reader to access Census Returns and archive copies of The Macclesfield Express and Courier back to 1811.
9) Consult our extensive Local History records and archives.
10) Apply for a Bus Pass.
11) Take part in our Books on Wheels service (a monthly delivery of books to a reader's home when they are no longer able to visit the library themselves).
12) Reserve an item from another Cheshire East Library (applicable to Junior members and visually impaired readers).
13) Hire our Talking Books (books on CD or cassette) for 3 weeks (applicable to visually impaired readers).
14) Read our large collection of daily newspapers (4 week archive available).
15) Submit your supporting papers for a Blue Badge application.
For a small charge, you can also:
1) Hire DVDs (including television boxsets) for a week.
2) Hire CDs for a week.
3) Hire Computer Games for a week.
4) Hire our Talking Books (books on CD or cassette) for 3 weeks.
5) Print.
6) Fax.
7) Photocopy.
8) Purchase extra time on the computers.
9) Have a 1-to-1 IT Taster session.
10) Introduction to online Family History Resources.
11) Purchase a Senior Railcard (subsidised to ┬Ż22 from ┬Ż28).
12) Reserve an item from another Cheshire East or Cheshire West Library.
Macclesfield Library is situated on Jordangate, next to Pizza Express, near the Town Hall.
Pay and display parking is available at Jordangate multi story, and behind the Town Hall (Short stay) Disabled Parking is available just outside on The Market Place.
