"We just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the staff at The Berystede (Especially Chris and his team) for making our day so special. Everyone was so helpful and it all ran very smoothly, all our guests were very complimentary of the venue too. The food was also superb! It was also extremely helpful and nice to have the executive suite the night prior to the wedding and to get ready in on the day. I also had the pleasure of using the spa facilities on the Saturday which was lovely."
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the new Mr and Mrs Newall and wish you the very best for your future together!

Went with a friend on Friday and was pleasantly surprised at how professional, friendly and helpful all the staff were. The sauna, steam, ice, and showers were fantastic and the outdoor pool was lovely. My facial was just dreamy, so thorough and relaxing - thank you Beth! And the cream Tea with prosecco was delicious. Everything ran on time and we had robes and unlimited clean towels! Would 100% recommend this place to Family and friends for a fab day out.

User

We have had a lovely few days here celebrating our friends 65th birthday. Our friends were given a room upgrade with some lovely extras in the room. All the staff and service was impeccable with great attention to detail. The food was amazing supplying very tasty gluten free options especially for the afternoon tea! The spa and treatments were amazing too. Definitely recommend. Only suggestion please reduce your use of plastic especially straws, drinks stirrers and cocktail sticks as this is a big issue to the planet and its wildlife.

User

Visited the spa for my birthday amazing atmosphere surrounded by beautiful nature! The food was amazing including scones and a glass of prosecco. Staff were incredibly friendly and very professional I’m definitely going back! Made my birthday a bit more special

User

This must be our 5th year to have our Scubatrust Christmas party here and the staff never cease to amaze us with the spread they put on. My special thanks to Chris who does a fantastic job and nothing is to much trouble. With horrendous snow conditions we delayed our meal by over an hour but the Berystede staff were just brilliant. We thank you all.

User

Stayed there very recently, hotel with great traditional charm, superb breakfast, and top notch spa. Loved afternoon tea. Recommend the evening in their recently refurbished restaurant. Spa is one of the best.

User

I love this place, went there to meet with our new wedding co-ordator, Natasha, yet again another fab member of there team. The girls are so helpful, friendly and know there jobs well, and any of them are happy to help. Always receive a warm welcome at reception.... And it's such a cosy reception area with its open fire... Can't wait for my wedding day, and plan to go to get some spa treatments the day before the big day... So I best get booking... We have also been there for an evening meal on my birthday and that was also fab and the staff again were friendly, helpful and professional...

User

I drove over to the Berrtstede so that my cousin could look over the hotel as she has been invited to her granddaughter’s wedding in September. My wife and I thought we should enjoy afternoon tea at the hotel. After a quick look around the grounds we entered the bar area and enquired if we could have afternoon tea. Of course you can so we ordered tea and scones with jam & cream. Delicious👏& great value. The service and staff was fabulous. So if in you are around Ascot well worth a visit. Thanks to all the staff for providing us with a great afternoon.

User

Had a deluxe pedicure from Alesja the therapist and really enjoyed it! Alesja is very professional and customer oriented, we’ll be back for more!

Fabulous spa break with sister & 2 nieces. Hotel staff could not have been kinder. On arriving earlier than check in we were told rooms were ready & that we had been upgrades which was excellent news. We had originally booked for 1 night but were offered a great deal for an extra night so decided to do that. Rooms were spacious clean and very very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent included the Stornaway black pudding & full English which kept you going for quite some time. Spa facilities were excellent & outdoor spa was fantastic especially listening to the dawn chorus by the birds. Robins were spotted which gave our break a lovely festive feel. Hotel was very tastefully decorated & fire in the hearth exuberated a lovely warm feel. 3rd time we have visited and will be making our way back soon. Windsor Runnymede & Ascot all within easy reach added bonus. Thanks to hotel staff especially Restaurant!

User

Booked a spa day with my friend for her birthday. From when we arrived and was greeted with towels, fluffy robe and slippers till when we left later that evening it was a fully enjoyable, relaxing experience. With the weather being on our side we made full use of all the facilities, we will definitely be back!!!

User

Absolutely brilliant day and evening the treatments were excellent the full body massage best I have had in all the spa days I have been to 55 mins by Zoe nice spacious room and lovely pool sauna all very clean. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and enjoyed the choice and quality of the food, good service from the bar and nice cocktails. The rooms are a little small but comfy bed soft towels and helpful staff when your room key doesn’t work they quickly sent someone to let us in. All in all a very relaxing time I’m booking again near my birthday

User

Stayed overnight after black tie ball. Room was excellent (should have been for £178!!). Shame the mini bar had been removed on the hottest day of the millennium. The dinner was great, must be difficult catering a formal dinner for lots of people when it was so hot. Breakfast was first class, service was, err, very efficient (my wife's plate was removed prior to her being able to land her knife and fork!)

The hotel could do with a bit of TLC, the reception desk is too small and got overwhelmed when more than three people wanted to check in and the bar prices were national debt of a small developing country level, £28 for two G&T's is a bit steep. Parking was more chaotic than quaint but the layout of the grounds probably dictated this, the signage is a bit of a challenge though.

Would we return? Yes, so unlike a chain hotel, a taste of English hotel eccentricity.

User

Our second visit. We were very pleasantly surprised to find that our room was ready at 10.30 am. Our room was small, but comfortable.

We enjoyed the spa facilities, though unfortunately the pool heating didn’t seem to be working as the pool was freezing! Only one of the heated loungers was working too. So we had to share one! We were not given robes and slippers on arrival. Once I enquired I was told rather gruffly that they were only given out of treatments are booked. I explained that our treatments were later in the day, and finally we got our robes - much needed as it was chilly by the pool.

We had a lovely lunch in the bar area. The staff were really friendly.

We had wonderful massages and enjoyed a relaxing cup of tea afterwards.

Our dinner was lovely - as good as I remembered from our previous stay. Our waiters and waitresses did a great job as the restaurant was really busy but this did not impact on our evening at all.

We decided to head back to our room instead of paying £8 for a liquor coffee in the by now very crowded bar. Our bed was really comfy, the room was peaceful and had proper blackout curtains! We couldn’t adjust the climate control in the room and the radiator seemed stuck on resulting in us bring far too hot at night. Only a minor issue but it meant that we didn’t sleep brilliantly.

We booked breakfast in bed and it arrived promptly and was delicious.

Unfortunately our bill was a little muddled - our spa treatments (included in our room rate) were added on and we had some high services charges for our lunch and drinks that we didn’t feel were appropriate. These were very quickly removed from our bill but it still put a bit of a dampener on our departure.

We will be back again. The hotel is lovely and the brilliant restaurant really makes it a great night or two away.

User

My 3rd visit here. Some aspects were great: the restaurant is lovely, fantastic food. The rooms are comfy. Treatment was excellent. Staff are very polite & helpful. Can't fault them at all.

However, spa was a shambles. My friend struggled to get a menu for treatments, took 5 attempts! On the actual weekend, no robes left, had to ask for slippers, not enough chairs or beds. Cups next to the water dispenser would be handy. Weren't told about the chill out room near the treatment rooms. Kids & teenagers being very loud, smashing pool noodles on top of the water. To top it off the cleaner started cleaning the glass whilst we were in the outdoor Jacuzzi, the chemical smell hurt my throat and it was dripping into the Jacuzzi!

Not sure if I'd bother with the spa bit anymore, pity as the hotel & restaurant are fab a d the treatment itself was nice.

I feel that they don't know what market they are aiming for so trying to appeal to everyone. Sometimes less is more.

I had booked the hotel for number of reasons. First when it was my signature Birthday at the beginning of the month, I wanted to celebrate it in style at Ascot but we realized there was no race on the date we had booked our stay, so we arrived on Saturday 16th, the staff were very attentive and polite when we checked in. They had put a happy Birthday plate with two beautiful cup cakes in our room which was a heartwarming gesture for me. At night, we had our dinner at hotel's restaurant, the staff again did everything to please us as we sat for our dinner. We ordered food& a bottle of wine, our waiter who was a Romanian chap served our wine& took our orders for dinner, explaining the various dishes on the menu. We had a lovely time only because the staff could accommodate our needs& the Romanian chap who was in charge of our table managed to find the right bottle of white Pinot Grogio for us which was again a good hospitality gesture. The only point I need to raise is the menu itself, the menu is slightly 70s style& could be more up to date as we are in 2018& like to have wider exotic options on the menu.

I will definitely go back to this hotel as I liked the location and the efforts of the staff to provide the best for guests. A happy stay means more future visits to Macdonald Berystede Hotel💃🥂💃

User

Checked in and wasn’t informed about what time breakfast was, where the restaurant or spa were. Also asked for our card to be given a piece of paper telling us we had been £175, went back to reception and the gentle man wasn’t at all helpful but did say we hadn’t been charged it was a mistake.. Later we went for a treatment which was amazing!! Restaurant was amazing and so where the staff! Amazing food and experience. We will be back dispite a few little things about reception not being more informative

User

Very beautiful location and situated on beautiful grounds but some minor minuses on the hotel. The room was quite nice but some needed some repairments especially in the bathroom, access to the swimming pool a little bit difficult and confusing ,breakfast was a real down- all food that should have been warm/hot was cold ,staff very busy and looked unorganized ( if you needed anything was a challenge to get anyone to bring it or to bring it right from the beginning).

User

Nice and élégant location with impressive public rooms. But the bedrooms feel dated, the service is overall inconsistant and it does not match the positioning the hotel aspires to..but the food is good i have to admit if not slightly pricey !

User

My partner and I arrived about 4pm and checked in. Were told someone would help with bags but no-one around. Got to room and opened the door only to find peoples clothes everywhere!! Fortunately no-one was in the room! I went back down to reception to tell them. They seemed very confused and didn't quite believe me but eventually gave me another room...an upgrade to a room with garden view. I went up to tell my partner and help with the bags then walked for what seemed like 10 mins to the far side of the extention of the hotel to a dark and cold room which looked over a car park!! Back to reception i went. By this time the manager was there. After some discussion with the staff member over which room to give us he took me to see a room in the main building again. This was a 4 poster room with flowers and chocs and fruit. It looked v nice so i said it would be fine. I then had to go back to find my partner in the previous room....go back to reception to get the key for our 3rd room! It wasnt until we got in that we noticed it was a double bed and we had requested a king (6ft 3 and 5ft 10). By now i was too exhausted to change again and we had already lost over an hour of our weekend away. We were sent up complimentary drinks which was nice.

The spa/pool was a lovely...especially the thermal spa. Kids allowed in pool til 7pm which is fine as there were 2 lanes to swim in...however a mother seemed too engrossed in her book to notice her 2 little darlings were throwing noodles and weights into them and climbing over the ropes!!

The second day i went down by myself at 7pm to avoid such children only to find that this was the time the cleaners came in who spent more time perving at me rather than cleaning!!

I didn't stay in long!

Showers and changing facilities v clean. Nice touches with toner, cleanser and cotton buds.

Restuarant seems to cater for package deals and not just hotel guests. We had to buy our bread (did get free in the end as complained) even though others were being offered 2 or 3 times. My chicken and chips meal was v bland and dry..and at £17 v expensive!. The meals the package people got looked a lot nicer! Cocktails were nearly £12 each as well.

However breakfast was fantastic...everything you could possibly want. Service very slow (only serving teas and coffees) had to ask twice on second morning. I noticed the first morning people had ordered omlette. Ordered this on 2nd morning however no-one tells you this is available.

Overall the room was noisy...creaky floorboards and right by main road. Very cramped around dressing table and a huge bathroom with tiny bath at one end...not v well designed. Reception lovely with open fire and sofas. Pool facilities great. Car parking facilities quite far from reception and a hike uphill!
