We stayed one night, they couldn't have been more welcoming. The room was lovely, great view. The bed was the comfiest ever. We're going to have another stay in December. Thank you so much xxx

User

We have stayed here for the last 2 nights our little 'baby-moon' weekend away before the arrival of our first child , we are also in the process of renovating our new house so this was a much needed break! Upon making the booking my husband mentioned that I was heavily pregnant and asked if we could use the £10 credit that we got towards some non-alcoholic beer for me . However when we checked in we were told that we had been upgraded to a suite which was amazing enough in itself then in the room we found there was bottles of becks blue in an ice bucket , cake and even a little comforter blanket gift for the baby which was so thoughtful and very much appreciated :) when you are ready to pop and feeling tired and huge , gestures like this mean a lot ! We still even got our £10 credit to use on food / drink as well. The suite is fantastic and has had everything we have needed (the super king size bed has been fab ) and we had a meal in the restaurant on the first night which was also really nice . Overall I would 100% recommend this hotel as they have made the last weekend we will get to have for a while before sleepless nights take over extra special 👍 thank you Macdonald New Blossoms 😊

User

We had the most amazing stay at the Macdonald New Blossoms Hotel! Room was lovely, the bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever stayed in, Food was amazing, and the staff just couldnt do enough for you! We even stayed a second night because we enjoyed it that much, and cant wait to come back! A big massive thankyou for making us feel so welcome and thankyou to all the staff, especially the manager for making our stay perfect! X

User

User

Top stay, 5 stars! Thank you Ashley and Alison, James and Alex - we will be back

User

Stayed here the easter weekend as family of 5 and I must say it was amazing. The staff were amazing and were great with the children. They even left them milk and cookies for the evening. The room was lovely and a great size and Definitely recommend the dinner in with the b&b package. Will definitely be returning thank you xxxx

User

Nice welcome for our wedding anniversary stay. Arrived yesterday for two nights. Love the room, xtra large bed and a separate lounge (tv each ) plus large bathroom and bath. Hubby loves the nespresso machine. I love the lavender and teetree aromatherapy toiletries (easily pleased ). We have a view over the main street, so lovely to people watch . Can be a bit noisy from the street but this didnt go on till late , but a small price to pay for being in a great location. Breakfast great and all the staff have been very friendly and helpful so far . Can park very close by on the Grosvenor shopping centre at a discount rate of £9 a night, would recommend this. Would recommend this hotel and will definitely come back again

User

Had a fantastic stay here, all of the staff were lovely and very accommodating. Room and food were of an incredibly high standard - would absolutely stay again. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

User

Great hotel with a fab central location. Thanks to the person on reception for doing all he could to sort our room out.

User

Totally overpriced but lovely staff who were very supportive but unable to help anyone who wanted to book in before two pm. Very nice food but why would anyone want to eat in the restaurant with photographs of beautiful cows that they are devouring absolutely beats me!!!!

User

Lovely hotel but I booked a executive double room as a surprise for my husband as it’s his birthday Sunday it’s the first time we’ve stayed in Chester . After being given our key we got to room 313 went to put air conditioneing on and it’s not working I called reception and was told all rooms have none theirs a fan in the wardrobe . I’m guessing this is a on going problem at this hotel . No a good start to a two day break we alway stay at a MacDonald’shotel we we can afford to Mrs j Jaques/ wright

User

Great location as its right in the centre of Chester close to all the shops and bars restaurants. Check in was reasonable. Parking was in the Grosvenor shopping centre, as we left quite early next morning we had to walk quite a long way due to the shopping centre being closed. Room was good, clean and very nice towels although the tea, coffee etc had not been topped up. I asked about breakfast and was told it was £18 per person extra, was very shocked after paying £133 for the night. I wouldnt stay again as i feel its too expensive.

We recently spent 3 nights here, in three different rooms. The first had a view of a brick wall, the second was over a nightclub so didn't get to sleep until after four and the third was tiny. Then to add insult to injury we booked an evening meal for 7.30 on the Saturday evening. When we arrived the waiter told us they were running a bit behind and would we mind sitting in the bar for twenty minutes. We did this without an issue, he then came and got us so we moved into the restaurant and our order was taken. We then sat for fourty minutes without anyone explaining why. I asked a waitress what the problem was and she said she would find out, only to come back and tell us that they were just starting our food! Needless to say we told her we would go somewhere else. The hotel marred our view of Chester which is such a shame.

User

Stayed here last night, first problem was loud music from shop so my partner went to reception to mention it and was not getting anywhere so asked to see manager, receptionist went round the corner to see came back and said he was unavailable upon when a gentleman came through looked and went back around the corner (found out this morning he was one of the managers but might not be on duty???)We then got offered an upgrade which would cost us £25 instead of £50???obviously said no to this so got offered to move which we did.Second room we had had dust in places marks on carpet and tiles dirty, complained on checkout and felt it was falling on deaf ears so didn't add how awful breakfast was, queuing, dirty tables under par breakfast.Very disappointing and to top it off was still charged over £13,00 for drinks.

User

My partner, myself and our four month old stayed here 26th May 2018. Whilst the Hotel room 122 was lovely, and spacious (also somewhat a bit dusty) it wasn't practical for a baby/ pram due to the stairs, it took for the maintenance gentleman to realise this before the reception staff. He had asked if we could be swapped rooms to be told no as there were no rooms available. The bed was very comfortable however the description stated a Kingsize bed but in reality was two singles pushed together. The hotel were made aware a month earlier that a baby would be attending with us so I would have expected a room with easy access. The Entrance to the hotel too is a nightmare with around 13/14 steps to reach reception so I wouldn't class the hotel as wheelchair/ pram friendly, and with no help offered from reception either when seen to be struggling.

We also was never made aware a nightclub/bar was underneath the hotel itself, had I have known this we probably wouldn't have stayed.

We were told we had booked a room with a view however the only view we had was the riot vans out the front, a CCTV camera right outside the window an a view of couple of high street shops.

Could I say I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, no. Would I stay again, most likely not. Would I have paid the price i had, Absolutely not.

As our first weekend away after having a baby we were left somewhat gutted that the hotel didn't live up to expectations to only receive a "sorry" from the reception staff in the morning.

User

Very hot rooms no air con, paid good money for half decent room and got a view of a brick wall, could hear doors and banging from the hotel and club till all hrs in the morning, not a very good place if you want sleep

User

Very disappointing stay from start to finish. Booked an executive room which was nothing at all like the pictures displayed on their website of these type of rooms. It was basically the standard room but with a bigger bed only. Went to the bar for a drink at ten to five and nobody serving, after standing there for over ten minutes had to go to reception to ask them to locate somebody who could serve drinks. Fire alarm went off at approx 6.20a.m which obviously is not the hotels fault however the management of the situation was appalling, the building was not evacuated and guests were being informed by other guests not to leave the hotel as they had been told the hotel were just going to switch the alarm off, absolute shambles and not a single staff member in sight advising guests, god forbid this had been a real fire!! Arrived for breakfast at 8.30 to a sign stating no hot breakfast. We were not offered any explanation regarding why and can only assume this was related to the earlier fire alarm.

We had booked here for a very rare night together as husband and wife without our children to celebrate my 40th birthday and this hotel has spoilt that for us completely. Would advise anybody considering to book here not to bother, you would have a much better stay I am sure by staying in the Travelodge down the road.

User

Stay clear! Very poor food, tasteless, poorly cooked and terrible and slow service. Rooms really not that impressive, some worn furniture and marks and if your unlucky you get one above the club below that will keep you up all night. 2nd Macdonald hotel iv stayed in this month, both iv given bad reviews and I never bother giving reviews...

User

If I could leave no stars I would I've stayed in lots of hotel but this hotel is the worst! I checked in when we went up to our room it wasn't the best the previous occupant left cigarettes everywhere obvs not checked!

On the night time my partner was trying to open the window as it was boiling the sash window slammed straight down on his finger and it turned black we went and told reception who didn't even fill out an accident report!

The next day we came back to our room and was left with a note saying we were going to be charged £100 for smoking in the room and they put a health and safety notice on the window that wasn't there the day before

My partner went and insisted they fill out an accident report form which they did but looked liked they had never done one before.

On check out this morning I was told they were going to charge me £100 as smoking inside was illegal my partner has just argued this to death in reception and told them about the window in the end they have taken the bill payment but said they will charge me £100 a day on my card until they get their £100 charge lol what a joke.

The breakfast was awful by the way we got one sausage one egg and a pathetic mushroom and cold beans! I had room service the first night and nothing was on the menu and they sent me sandwiches without the extras just plain sarnies on a plate . They ruined our weekend so well done and my partners finger is still black because of the poor health and safety good luck getting your £100 a day and as for the guy in the blue suit who doubles as a chef his attitude stinks smarmy sod...
