We're chuffed to be serving up some of our signature dishes at @soundbitessessions at the Roundhouse on Saturday 29th September. A day of DJ sets, live music mash ups and some bloody top notch food thrown in, it's going to be a banger of a party. We'll be slinging buns next to Hot Chip, Norman Jay and the Foals, with more to be announced. Tickets on sale 20th August. #marksmanpublichouse #soundbites #food #music #roundhouse #london #foodandmusicmashup #foodofinstagram #foodie

Tucked below Hackney Road is our Cellar Room: private dining and chef’s table just a few steps from the kitchen. Front row seats, you could say.

We age, cure, pickle, and make all kinds of things in-house, like this platter of Tamworth. Different selections are cut, curing from the collar, the belly and loin, and cured sausage made with our devilled paste of chilli, capers and salt lemon. Tasty stuff.

"London... I like how it always feels alive, you always feel you’re getting to see the first produce that’s coming in, the styles and trends that are beginning. The standard in London, particularly over the last ten years, has gotten so high and there’s so much competition, it helps you push yourself harder and also raises your expectations. It’s a great city to work in." - Jon & Tom interview, @somethingcurated

Some of you asked what we were going to do with those beautiful Keats Farm cucumbers that were on our Insta stories, so here we go: cured with a little bit of lemon oil, wild fennel and chervil, and served with brown shrimp and hens egg.

Great to be among friends in @hotdinners #HotRightNow round up. Some fine eating in this list, if we do say so ourselves...

We just had the best dinner in town!! The food here is fresh and the service is spot on. Very busy night and the servers have not missed a beat! Our Food came quick and there is nothing left in anyone's plate! It is a must try folks! Just sayin. Come try it very soon!

Visiting from Illinois & stopped in with family. Great surprise in a small town. The menu has a variety of foods to satisfy anyone. I had the fish tacos & were the best I have ever had . My husband had the fish & chips - fish was blackened to perfection. Granddaughter had the sirloin with baked potato & seasonal veggies. She ate most of it. Son- in-law had the fresh halibut & loved it. This is a gem to stop at when on way to Mt. Ranier or anywhere. They also have gourmet desserts & a new line of wines. Butterscotch pudding.

& mango cheesecake topped our meal off!

Nice pub for a pint great place to eat lunch or dinner. Very nice food! Highly recommend !

User

Nice little bar, great mixture of new and old. Craft beer and classics. Great little soundtrack in the background as well, bartender Katie was epic

User

Michelin Pub of the year for a reason. Not cheap but excellent in every area. The best Sunday afternoon with food I can remember spending. Will be back. Thank you to the Marksman staff / team.

User

It has a great atmosphere...very chatty..and the food is soooo good...as one person we took there said it gets better with each visit and another said the menu looks complicated but you get what it says and always delicious...they don' tell you that everything is made on the premises...even the bread AND butter...I don't think many know it's Michelin Pub of the Year if you hunt you'll find the plaque at the other end of the bar....well done Whatateam...xxx

User

Great English pub. Those mince buns with horseradish cream are to die for!

User

Fab food and staff. Loved it! Sunday lunch rosast beef was to die for.

User

Best pub grub in the land...steak and truffle pie and cod roe crispy things are so yummy 😋 👅 and the place is so warm and friendly

User

Amazing roast. Great service (got comped for a bacon bun when it turned out there's a delay with the yorkies for the roast). Creamed leek is particularly perfect. Would gladly return and recommend.

User

Absolutely amazing meal, great menu and excellent selection of wine. Will definitely be visiting again.

User

A really great Sunday Lunch with excellent food & friendly service. I would highly recommend to put this place high on your places to visit list.

User

Very nice pub. Proper pub too. A shame about the miserable cantankerous and rude, old cunt-woman behind the bar.

A 'local pub for local people' - Royston Vasey style. I'll call her Tubbs.

User

If you want to be turned away for a drink simply because they only serve people eating,

Or If you want to pay well over the odds for a below average meal/Sunday roast...which it's worth adding your hand is forced into a two course meal £29

Or if you want a maximum two roast potatoes that are soggy with your main forcing you to get a side of roasts (which I have to ask is aunt bessie in your kitchen?)

I wish I could say the service saves you, but I'm pretty sure the majority of your servers are nearly as annoyed as your customers.

Shame as the place looked okay when we walked in. Oh and it's the third time I've been here in case your worried about first impressions. Real shame.

I booked as I had a friend in town who I hadn’t seen in a long while. Wanted somewhere special. The menu was very limited. We waited an hour for the food ( the special based on the waitress recommendation)- half duck, curried style, could not carve the duck which was not properly cooked, waitress couldn’t help us with a proper carving knife. She offered us a free tea and coffee??? Side order was tiny, we left over 100 quid poorer and hungry. I am so disappointed and annoyed that I didn’t book somewhere else. The Michelin star I think has gone to their heads. You’d get much better service, value and a gastronomical experience in a local gastro pub. Plenty of great ones locally. I’m so annoyed!!

User

Half a roast dinner for £16.

What it lacks in portions, still doesn't make up for in service. I had to ask for things at the bar a handful of times which ruined the vibe. Staff were grumpy and seemed fed up with customer service in general.

In my eyes, its not a roast dinner without the Yorkshire pudding, and for their expertise of mixing flour and water they charge an extra £1.

With this extortionate lunch, I had the pork belly. Which smelt funky (like a public toilet scent), only when it was right up to my nose and then I ate it. Questionable.

This came with 3 moderately brown potatoes, some red cabbage and a carrot.

Poor.

User

Eaten here many times. Great food however have cancelled table this weekend due to total inflexibility of the restaurant manager. Apparently it's just not allowed "any day any time of any week" to request a table either upstairs or downstairs. Was bringing my elderly parents who wouldn't have been able to hear me in the downstairs restaurant due to proximity of tables. FOH and phone manner really could do with some attention.

User

Dreadful experience here today. In fact possibly The worst pub I have ever eaten in. We waited ages for our food, vegetarians and children were poorly catered for, the portions were tiny, and the bill at the end was astronomical for pub food. In fact we didn't even get a desert as we ran out of time. No effort was made to appease us even after complaining. I will never be going here again and I beseech you not to go yourself.
