Rob Eastaway's "Maths on the Back if an Envelope is reduced to £2.99 on the kindle at the moment!!! I'd grab it now (well I have!) https://amzn.to/2GRNPBe Here is a taster for the book in his RI talk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_-Vg_B3n zM&t=1070s
Always nice to receive good feedback! https://goo.gl/maps/or7JAeNDgatENR2m9
A beautiful and very informative interactive animation of the Hertzprung-Russell Diagram (Keep scrolling down) #physics #alevel #gcses #astronomy http://sci.esa.int/gaia-stellar-family-po rtrait/

Great short film here to explain why the area model is used to teach multiplication. https://www.youtube.com/watch…
This is too true: I've had a great time reconnecting with teaching maths through Welsh with several students scattered all over the country- several of them in incredibly rural areas. This is the real magic of online tutoring! Wedi wir mwynhau dysgu mathemateg trwy'r Gymraeg eleni- ond yn phosib drwy dysgu ar-lein. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/…/45c5944e-0 e0f-11e9-aa1a-528689…

This is a really good article, and this approach would be so incredibly useful in helping to prepare students for their numerical reasoning exams in later life. https://slate.com/…/against-teaching-ki ds-to-code-creativit…

Doing some science practicals and struggling with Excel/GoogleSheets with your data and line of best fit? Have a look at what I constructed on Desmos... input your data with their uncertainties and you get a line of best fit and the uncertainty in it's slope and y-intercept. https://www.desmos.com/calculator/otruwto zco
Breaking News!!! A new fundamental particle has been discovered.. I give you the Plain Quark... It's a little strange, has loads of charm, yet has no flavour... It'll need a lot of spin to sell it.
An important read for A-level physics students studying Astronomy: https://www.wired.com/…/how-to-measure- things-that-are-ast…/
This is an example of how I try and help students to make the link between division, fractions, and using the bus-stop method. This is more a way of remembering how to write the same division in different ways, you can see with this pattern the numbers are revolving clockwise around the vinculum (horizontal bar).
A nice simple demonstration of circular motion- and what happens when the centripetal force is removed. (source: youtube/ISLE Physics)
Whilst introducing a student to the topic of standing waves today I realised that visualising this dynamic phenomena is tricky (especially for longitudinal waves), so I went searching for an animation/GIF that better represents the motion of particles in a much better way than any of my static drawings could. Luckily, I stumbled upon this article and this great animation of a standing wave in a pipe. http://www.acs.psu.edu/drussell/…/Stand ingWaves/standing.gif

A very interesting article in the New York Times- this applies as much to finding a good tutor: https://www.nytimes.com/…/college-profe ssors-experts-advice…
