Sterling rallies as Brexit debate is promised

The pound has managed to claw back some of its losses in early trading after it was confirmed by UK PM, Theresa May, that a full and transparent Brexit debate will take place before activating article 50. Although May has not promised a formal vote, the news of the debate was enough to shake Sterling into life after a torrid two weeks.
... All attention is on the minutes from the latest FOMC meeting Today, the key focus will be on the minutes from the latest Federal Reserve meeting (FOMC). It was evident from the meeting that opinion was very divided with three members voting for an immediate hike and three voting for no hike at all in 2016. Therefore, the discussions behind the scenes are very important as they may signal when the FOMC is likely to hike again. As it stands, an increase in rates in December is on the table and is driving USD momentum.
Better than expected data for the Euro area Yesterday, German ZEW expectations came in better than predicted. So far, Euro area data has shown good resilience to the Brexit vote and this could lead to stronger than expected growth for the second half of 2016. Today, we have further insight with euro area Industrial Production which is expected to rebound after a weak result in July. Despite the recent better euro area data, the euro has still weakened against the USD which was largely driven by US rate hike expectations.
