Super friendly people having a lovely food stall in Spitalfields Market. I wasn't sure if I wanted to try their Ethiopian food because what I had tried before was ok but didn't have a wow factor. Their food was not only wfpb but extremely delicious. We tried the traditional which was a bit of everything and every bite was an explosion of aromas and textures.

What is more, you get real value for money (which I cannot say for other places in London). For only 6.5 pounds you get a huge plate. I couldn't finish it so I took the rest home.

Such delicious, fresh food! Very good value for money and friendly people. Yum, yum, yum!

I think Ethiopian might be my new favourite cuisine because of this place!!! Gorgeous food- flavourful and rich yet light and healthy. Would highly recommend and I canÔÇÖt wait to come back for more!!! IÔÇÖm not usually a fan of vegan food, but merkamo is making me reconsider...Generous portions, well worth the price, and very friendly staff.

I couldn't choose what to to eat as an early dinner while walking around Spitafields market, I spotted two Ethiopian stalls selling delicious looking food. I chose to have the traditional plate (served in a rectangular takeaway box) and I'm so glad that I did. The guy at the stall told me about the different food that makes up the plate and then put it all together. It looked like a piece of art. Tasty, healthy, full of flavour and the unusual bread that you use to eat the different aspects of the dish was delicious. My first time eating Ethiopian food and I will definitely return here again to try another dish . I highly recommend eating here! Thank you :).

Had my first Merkamo food experience yesterday. Savoured every mouthful. Absolutely delicious and all so nutritious. Can't get it out of my mind andxwish I lived nearer to eat some every day. Can't wait for the recipe book. Will be back soon! Xxx
