Whilst brain storming for some ideas for @mandhcake I googled the top big wedding website and Instagram accounts. Not to find there was something in common with all of them, what do you think it is?
Scrolling far down to mid page of most of the wedding websites I start to notice, hmm there is no one that looks like me on this website and by that I mean there is such a massive lack of racial diversity in the wedding industry in 2018.
For years I was blindsided by the value a...nd importance of heritage, but there is so much beauty in that. One of my aims to with @mandhcake is combine the contemporary trends that millennials love and help brides to still cling onto the cultural heritage.
One of my goals is to make ethnic diversity in the wedding industry! It should be more normal to see BME wedding on mainstream wedding accounts. ✨

2 weeks ago we celebrated my sisters bridal shower 💍, she requested a pink jungle theme from me🤷🏾‍♀️ In our 21 years of being sisters with each other this was the first cake I had ever made for her 😱. But last week she got married to her best friend 👰🏾🤵🏾and also celebrated that occasion with cake! (Before you ask no I did not make this beautiful wedding cake it was @littlecakegarden💁🏾‍♀️. I wanted to retain my sanity) How beautiful is it that cake is there to truly mark to occasions, and for celebration ✨

If you were to tell me 3 years ago when I was in school that I would be able to turn my hobby into a business I would laugh in your face, just how I’m doing in this picture! I would have never imagine that I would have an opportunity to do this as a job! People ask me why cakes and flowers? In all honesty out of all the impulsive hobbies I’ve pursued from gardening to knitting. Cakes have stuck at it, and still I’m loving it. And flowers well I just love working with something that was already created beautiful. Yes it is difficult running a business o but it is worth it! I hope this acts as an encouragement to my fellow business owners, keep going! ✊🏾
