About Mick Gould Commercials Ltd

Mick Gould Commercials Ltd is one of the South East's leading commercial vehicle recovery and repair companies.

Mick Gould Commercials Ltd Description

Mick Gould Commercials Ltd is one of the South East's leading commercial vehicle recovery and repair companies. Our distinct recovery trucks are a familiar sight on roads throughout the UK and in Europe. We are also an approved Renault Trucks service centre.

Our commercial vehicle roadside assistance and recovery services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We have a reputation for responding quickly and efficiently to emergency recovery and roadside assistance calls. Our main aim is helping our clients to get back on the road as quickly as we can, thereby saving time and minimizing costly penalties for late or non delivery.

Our fleet of recovery vehicles range from the smaller trucks capable of light goods vehicles to the larger HGV lifting and towing trucks. Our experienced staff have been able to recover vehicles from the most awkward locations, operating with sensitivity in difficult and sometimes tragic situations.

In addition to vehicle recovery and repair, our modern workshops at our home base on the A21 at Flimwell, which is on the Kent and East Sussex borders, offers commercial vehicle servicing and repairs, including a body shop and paint shop. We also offer a tachograph and road speed limiter installation and repair service.

Whatever your commercial vehicle repair, recovery or roadside assistance needs – and wherever the problem is, call us on 01580 879333 for an immediate response.

We have recently noticed an increase in 'driver bashing' on our posts and customers/companies being named or bad mouthed, despite our efforts to blank out liveries and registrations. We have already posted about this in the past and warned that such comments will be deleted. Unfortunately it has now reached the stage where we have to consider blocking repeat offenders, which isn't something we want to do.
This is a professional page representing our company, and we would lik...e to keep it that way. We post about the jobs we attend for those who have an interest in the trucks and appreciate the work we do, as well as advertising the company. We love reading your comments, so keep them coming but please refrain from 'naming and shaming', 'slagging off' or being generally offensive. This is not a page for slandering our customers, or to take humor from and jest at other people's misfortunes.
Have some professional courtesy and respectfully keep these kind of comments to yourself, or we'll send old Pete after you! ;)

A job for both the Rotators up in Dartford yesterday afternoon, where this machine had fallen off the bank. The trucks were put in position, equipment set up and the machine was put back on its feet without any problems.

Early morning call to the village of Goudhurst for this foreigner, who got it a bit wrong! Once the trailer had been lifted off the bells, the first axle was chained up and various wheels were swapped around before we escorted the vehicle back to our Flimwell workshop. Luckily for the property owner, the cow bells did their job!

A tight, dead end road saw these delivery boys in a tricky spot. The road had two rather tight corners which meant reversing wasn't an option. Unfortunately, the turn round point wasn't suitable either thus resulting in a belly out situation. We decided to set up the Kenworth and winch from the roadside, as the delivery truck only required a straight pull back onto the hard standing.

This is a job from in the week carried out by Richard, Grant and Mark. Once on site and all the relevant paperwork had been dealt with, the first task was to close the body. However, van prevented it from being closed fully. The Western star held the unit so that the van could be winched forward. The Peterbilt then finished winching the body closed before it was repositioned to assist in uprighting the vehicle. Once upright the combination was split for onward recovery as the fifth wheel, kingpin and rubbing plate had suffered damage in the accident.

Who’s that knocking at the door?

User

This was a job we attended on the M25 last week. The DAF artic loaded with 28T of bamboo ply left the carriageway at Junction 5. The unit and trailer were separated in the incident, which left the container badly damaged and split. After removing the unit from the woodland and loading onto the heavy slide bed, considerable time was taken to prep and rig the trailer to allow it to be lifted back onto the carriageway, complete with its load (minus half a dozen board), before being transported back to Flimwell.
Yet again another superb team effort from Mick, Richard, Charlie and Mark.💪🚛

A job from this morning for the low loader!

Throwback Thursday! One from over 20 years ago with Mick's original Kenworth.

Time for Throwback Thursday!
This was a unique and challenging job from February 2016 on the River Thames in Oxfordshire. We were called to work in conjunction with JT Mackley. The narrowboat had broken free of its moorings a few days previously, and traveled uncontrolled down the river before becoming stuck by Osney Bridge. Richard and Mick attended with both of the Rotators to lift the boat from the water.

Onward movement of the boat was arranged a couple of weeks later to a marina.

At Mick Gould Commercials we love a snow day....

Overdue Throwback Thursday!
This was a wet and cold day back in 2013. The Romanian artic had gone through the barriers on the M20 and ended up in a ditch next to some transformers. Both the NRC and 1075 attended. The vehicle had sustained severe damaged and was recovered back to our base.

Oops! Another accidental wrong turn in a loaded artic with no through road for such vehicles. The previous signs may have helped in preventing this happening, but it was dark so the driver didn't read them. Never the less, we more than happy to help. Charlie and the Peterbilt 389 attended, reversed down the track off the already restricted lane to find the artic completely in the near side ditch resting on its axles and a telegraph pole. Some perfectly placed trees helped wit...h the recovery. One winch line was set up to lift the near side of the trailer, whilst the other line was diverted from a tree to drag the trailer sideways back onto the track. Once the trailer was out of the ditch, the winch line was run from another tree slightly in front and to the side of the tractor unit, which was then pulled sideways onto the track. Once the combination was out, there wasn't enough room for the tractor unit to maneuver and reverse the trailer back up the track. Charlie rear-lifted the trailer thus taking control of the trailer's steering, leaving the driver to concentrate on steering just the unit back out to better roads. We have added a couple of short videos in the comments section.

Mick, Richard and Elliot attended another excavator job this weekend. This 42T machine overturned whilst clearing a site for redevelopment. They started with a pre-lift to remove some scrap iron which was wrapped around the pipe work on the dipper. The trucks were then re-positioned and rigged for the main lift and catch.

User

Unfortunately, in the early hours of yesterday morning, the Snack Shack unwittingly became a "drive-thru", so will be closed until further notice. We're glad to report there were no serious injuries.

User

This is a job we attended on Friday. Whilst clearing the area to tidy up and make a pond, this excavator got itself into a bit of trouble! It wasn't easy to gain access to the job due to the very wet ground surrounding the area, and although there was access via a field, it was also very wet. So we decided to carry out the job from the lane. The Foden was set up for the pull using the ideally situated oak tree, and the Rotator was set up to guide and assist the digger so it didn't dig into the ground any further.Once safely out, we changed the batteries and repaired some damaged wiring to get it running which allowed it to track back to the farm.

User

Time for Throwback Thursday!
This was a job from December 2009 in Essex, where some containers had tipped over inside a boat whilst at sea. One Rotator and a heavy recovery vehicle were sent to the port to assist.
More photos of the job are on our website:

Please pass on our thanks to the lovely man who came & recovered my husbands car after it was ambushed by some serious flood water in Palesgate Lane, Jarvis Brook! Thankfully I managed to tow it from the water with my Jeep but the car is seriously not well! He was smiley, helpful & incredibly kind. You were also the fastest recovery service. We are very lucky to have you based so close. Happy new year to you all

I can't remember exactly when it was as I have only just seen this page.

I broke down in Crawley (steering box seal had blown) we rung our main dealer told them exactly what was the fault they came out in a fleet van and said that they don't have a seal kit anywhere in the south. Therefore wanted £800 for towing to purfleet and then another 800 for a new steering box to be fitted. ( we said good bye to them ) we then had another lorry heading that way from the north so he bobbed in to buy the part needed £12 +vat. (We also found out that the part was available in Heathrow)

In the mean time I was left stranded in the south on a Friday so I had time on my hands. I was set the task of finding a company that would come out and fit the part late that night. After ringing place after place I eventually came across Mick gould. I explained the situation and Mick was more than happy to help. All he asked me to do was to call him when the part was 2hrs away so he could get a fitter over to carry out the repair. True to his word this is exactly what happened. The repair was carried out with no problems at all and by 23.15 I was on my way back to the north. I couldn't thank Mick and his team enough. Top class service and highly recommend.

Im sure mick will remember this call.

Once again thankyou
