We have just visited miller and carter at lakeside for Valentine’s Day and wow what can I say. The steak was absolutely cooked to perfection and the dessert was fantastic. But more importantly the waiter (Mitchell ) that served us was brilliant. Every single thing that we required was seen to immediately and with ease , grace and professionalism. An absolute delight to have dined there today.

We came last night for our belated Christmas party. There was 18 of us and we booked last minute (sorry) on the morning of and were welcomed happily. Our table was laid out with plenty of space.

Our food was immaculate and delicious (we each had two courses). Our cocktails and mocktails were tasty and well presented. Everything happened in a great symphony - our food all arrived within seconds of each others', despite our massive group. Our waiter, Mitchell, was so well presented, friendly, knowledgeable, didn't forget a single thing and served us all in a timely manner and with a great smile!

Very happy with the service and the food we had last night. Didn’t reserve but was welcomed and only waited 5mins for table . Been a few times now and have always been happy and satisfied with service and food☺️☺️

Our first visit, and not disappointed. Food extremely good, smokey bbq chicken and ribs. Well presented and cooked to perfection. Great desserts and enjoyed the cocktail too. See you again. Jola you served us very well, thank you

Never fails to deliver. Food cooked perfectly, if you are not sure how to have a steak ask the waiting staff for “as chef recommends”

It was my first time coming to a Miller and Carter and I was very happy with my visit. We had 2 servers (Becky and Agata) as our first server's shift finished in the middle of our meal. Both Becky and Agata were extremely friendly and attentive. Dennis, who brought us out our drinks was also very friendly. Please pass on my compliments to all three of them as well as the Chefs in the kitchen.



The food was lovely, had the Sunday set menu which was a great price for what you got. Steak was cooked well, I don't like my steak to have much pink in it, and the chef got it just right! The brownie was delicious and so was the chicken starter.

Had lunch here today and i cannot fault it. Service was fantastic. Food was delicious, compliments to the chef! Lovely experience will definitely eat here again. Highly recommend and thank you!

Had a great experience. Duck starters, lobster mac and cheese and rib eye was lovely. Leave out that fat dripping butter though off the menu. Other than that, a lovely meal spent with my family for my birthday and the service was brilliant all round from all the staff, especially Joe who brought a cheery and an attentive attitude to put everybody happy and at ease

Compliments to the chefs for an amazing meal last night for my bros 40th birthday. It was so delicious and the chateubriand was cooked to perfection. The kids thoroughly enjoyed their meals too and their mocktails and i enjoyed the cocktails!!!

Our waitress Tisha was fantastic-nothing was too much trouble.

To top of our experience, the whole team sang happy birthday to my brother when they brought out the birthday cake.

Lovely steaks, chips stone cold but replaced 10 minutes after. 1 piece of bacon came with the burger quickly replaced with 2 slices slightly better. Other than that was a lovely evening. Staff very friendly waitress was great 👍

It was a 1 star experience, but the manager did some good will gestures for us so I’ll give them a 3*. In essence they were shutting for a refit so barely had anything we ordered. I have no problem with that M&C obviously want to minimise wastage, understandable. But let us know before the night (booked 5 days earlier) or let us know when we arrived at the front desk, OR let us know when the waiter asked for an initial drinks order. I love M&C I will be back, but that night it was dealt with badly. But respect to the duty manager on Sunday night (19/08) he saved us walking out & having a party of 7 potentially never visit them again and/or telling EVERYONE what a poor experience we had. We left happy (ish).

Food delicious unfortunately we were sat by door even though asked if we could sit somewhere else were told no. (there appeared to be other tables free ?) Had to eat entire meal with coat on we were freezing. It was 2 of our birthdays ( we mentioned when booking) but felt rushed. Shame as was really looking forward to eve and our first visit to the restaurant but left a bit deflated.

Poor service last night, very slow, main course arrived when starters (finished, dirty dishes) were still on our table. Waited half an hour to try & get a staff members attention so we could pay the bill, despite wanting desserts & it being nearly 10pm, we gave up at this point. In the end we walked around the restaurant to find a staff member and settled the bill at the til. Won’t be rushing back!

Terrible experience at this restaurant on Saturday. Long wait for the food. When the main meals finally came out the catalogue of issues is too long to write on here. To summarise though overcooked food, undercooked even still frozen chips and the roasted root vegetables had certainly not seen a roasting pan. Really disappointed as I expected more from a chain which appears on their webaite to provide a better quality and standard of food and venue.

One star is all that last nights experience was worth. What a complete disaster from the time we arrived. Waited 15 minutes from sitting down to have our drinks order taken and they got that wrong. Finally ordered food waited ages for that and some things were forgotten others were wrong. One of our party of 6 had to go to the bar twice for drinks as our waitress was nowhere to be seen or was busy on another table with a large party, who by the way had much the same experience as we did! Food in general was ok but not up to the standard of previous visits. Creme brûlée what a joke sent first one back as not crunchy on the top had it replaced with one that was worse just grains of brown sugar on top �. All in all our special night out for my sister who is returning to Australia today after her visit here was a disaster and somewhat embarrassing as we had been telling her what a lovely place it was and how much she would enjoy it! Oh and the last straw lol I thought I’d have a cocktail to finish the night so ordered a porn star martini, surely that would be ok? After having to order drinks at the bar as no waitress in sight again the bar man offers to bring the drinks to the table, one porn star martini he says putting it in front of me, where’s the passion fruit I asked, sorry we’ve run out he says, that’s it last straw call the manager. We don’t usually complain or make a fuss about stuff but there were so many things wrong that we couldn’t just pay the bill and leave quietly so the manager copped it and was told in no uncertain terms that we would never be returning ���

Often eat and Miller and Carter at various locations, usually eat at Chigwell, however before Christmas visited the lakeside restaurant and found it excellent so decided to visit today, what a mistake, walked in at 3pm, 3 tables active of which one was finishing with coffee. My partner went to the toilet then I went, still no visible sign of staff so seated ourselves which was awkward, waited another 10mins and a rather ‘relaxed’ waiter wondered over to the service station opposite our table, I smiled to attract his attention and he ignored us and concentrated on the computer screen which would have told him we were unattended, so after 20mins of being ignored we left. Well done Miller and Carter £120 just walked out of the door and got spent at the restaurant opposite! What a joke. Now they’ve exspanded the chain it seems the level of service has declined sharply.

Normally never have anything to complain about when visiting. Tonight me and my partner came out for my birthday meal. We ordered out steaks medium we was served medium rare. Waitress was rude but offered to put them back on the grill. Came back and they still wasn't right. She told me I should ask for medium well next time as before I had the perfect medium in her opinion. Totally uncalled for.

I was very disappointed on this visit. It was my partner's birthday, we ordered our food and waited a long time for our dinner. Once it arrived my food was cold and the chicken was not cooked, as i bit into the chicken, not seeing it wasn't cooked, but as i bit into it the chicken was hard and i looked down to see blood in my plate. I called a waiter and told him it was cold and not cooked right. He asked me if I wanted a fresh meal and i said yes. I waited over 30 minutes, my partner had to eat on her own as her dinner was fine. Very poor food service and as a "good well gesture" they knocked the drinks off. This is not good enough as later on that evening i ended up in hospital with food poisoning which was confirm by the hospital and i ended with tablets to settle my stomach. The pain was absolutely excruciating.



Read some of the reviews on here. This is not good for Miller & Carter I am sure i will get the some reply and be fobbed off like the other people have here
