Surprised to see the transformation from an old grubby pub to an excellent restaurant in middle class Muswell Hill. It’s about time to give Muswell Hill residents the respect they deserve. Food and service excellent.

Lovely evening celebrating my birthday. I had the barbecue chicken - very nice. Very attentive staff. Beautiful building - would definitely go back.

Had starters and two fillet steaks, starters ok steaks ok vodka and tonic and orange and lemonade £85 plus £6 tip not great value and not sure will go out of my way to return hence the tip

Had my first ever visit to a Miller & carter last night. Wow brilliant,fantastic,absolutely blown away by the food and service I received. Also what a transformation to what had become a shabby looking pub.

This is a well priced steak house for the area with a great selection of dishes to choose from with also a good wine and drinks selection to compliment the food.

This is a place I will be coming back to to eat not only for a social lunch or evening but also for special occasions in the future. Absolutely well done team Miller & carter for putting this into muswell hill

Fantastic service and venue. Menu is ample and not too much at the same time. Our evening was lovely, but unfortunately and for an unknown reason, there was a strong smell of bleach coming from the room behind the bar upstairs. To be fair I would rather bleach than anything more unsavoury. We were not too bothered, but another group were and they ruined a small part of our evening. The manager apologised to us and explained that the smell is not something they have ever experienced before. The food was amazing and worth the money, our waiter was polite and friendly and always available, little unsure of the lettuce wedge thing or why it was not removed with the plates but left there throughout the dessert course, but no hardship. May do Christmas dinner there if we can afford it.

food was very nice, scallops to start followed by Fillet steak with bordelaise sauce, hazelnut chocolate bomb. Very pleasant would go again and recommend to one and all, lunchtime was not busy would like to see the quality of food and service whilst under pressure

Great menu great food great atmosphere great price. Not for kids as I didn't see a kids menu or any kids in there! Great for a couples evening out or with mates.

Fantastic building, wonderful atmosphere, quick service on a Friday night, great food but the chocolate pot dessert was not the best, not to be recommended for people who love chocolate

Went on the second opening night, 3 members of my family had steak and I had the honey and chili chicken, the chicken was very dry and did not have much taste to it, the steak was good. The service was okay being the soft launch but did take a while for drinks to come. The air vents did not seem to work well, as looking around there was smoke around the lights.



The inside of the building has been done up very nicely. It is not a place sadly that I would go back to by myself of with friends. It would be more like a place that I go with my family.

Staff of front of house were awful, unhelpful and rude. Waitress very nice but not around much. The restaurant wasn't that busy and had absolutly no atmosphere. The food was ok and cocktails nice but there is no airconditioning so the restaurant upstairs was ridiculously hot and we asked to be seated down stairs. All in all ok but will not be returning in a hurry.

I agree, it looks stunning, and my starters was gorgeous. However, I ordered a rib eye steak well done, I got sirloin, when I mentioned that mine and my friend maybe mixed up, the waiter assured me I had rib-eye. It wasn't but I didn't want to cause a fuss. When I started eating the stead, it was quite medium. I told the waitress who said it would take 15 minutes to re-cook but by this time my friends were nearly finished so I just asked for it to be taken off the bill. We sat upstairs and each dish that was served, we never got clean napkins and they were very slow taking plates away. I moved some glasses to the shelf above me. Disappointed as I have heard lots of good things about Miller and Carter.

Always enjoying the food and the service... it’s amazing... but massive minus for lack of air con... was well too hot last time, couldn’t bare the heat..

A little bit better than last time but still room for huge improvement. One waiter to tend to the whole floor, OK it may be January AND lunchtime but no excuse. Still nobody on reception, had to pick up my own menus and seat us down. Very hard to get his attention for more drinks or the bill. Coffees still cold or luke warm and unnecessary nasty chocolate sauce on the luxury ice creams drowing out their flavour.

We was meant to go to the opening night and they cancelled on us, we went and we was siting and wasn't even acknowledge by the waitress, a very slow service, the waitress wasn't very friendly in the slighest, we asked for two things a alcohol cocktail we got told didn't have the ingredients and than didn't have a side dish, the waitress didn't even suggest something, asked for a drink got something completely different, they have no idea how to make a fresh mint tea, we even caught our waitress on her phone showing her colleagues at the bar upstairs, the communication between staff is disgusting as they didn't even mention to the waitress that we was getting the 50% off

The steak itself was good. The chips, salad, beans were not great. Service was friendly but very slow/ not good plus no 'finesse'. The tables were very pub like and lighting too bright in wrong places. We spent 80 pounds for 2 steaks and shared pudding and 1 glass of wine. Very disappointing. Take the bad reviews seriously if thinking of visiting. To this restaurant really you need to train the staff much better.

Not a great experience, we sat for fifteen minutes in an empty restaurant without anyone asking if we wanted to order drinks food was warm not hot and took ages . I would understand if they were busy but it was just two of us and another table . Definitely won’t be going back

Having been re-booked from an earlier night in the week due to the place not being ready, we eagerly accepted another night as wanted to check out the new place on our doorstep. What you've done with the interior is simply stunning and breathed new life into the run down building. We hoped the service and food were going to be of the same standard. Sadly we didn't get to try the food. We appreciate it was testing night but I'm afraid to make guests sit and wait for 40 mins with no service, no offer of a drink and no acknowledgement from the waiting staff is simply unacceptable. So much so we decided to leave. To make matters worse, as we were leaving we brought this to the attention of the receptionist who honestly didn't know what to say. No apology or anything. I think better table management training is needed and managers who know how to empathise with disappointed customers. Not a great experience I'm afraid.
