Glorious Bali, take time to escape the beach and delve inland. Walk through verdant rice fields, through remote village under towering volcanoes. Stop at a local restaurant for a Mea Koreng before returning for a swim. #bali #ricepaddies #infinitypool #millispotter #luxurytravel #offbeatenpath #indonesia #swimmingpool

Anyone fancy a babymoon? Sri Lanka is the perfect solution, a final hurrah of adventure, spotting leopards and whales, walking through tea plantations, cycling along paddy fields and learning to cook the most incredible curry. You’ll love it so much you might have to think about ‘Lanka’ as a middle name. Check out the amazing article in the Telegraph by @uktravelwriter #srilanka #babymoon #babymooning #luxurytravel #travel #traveller #offbeat #explorer #galle #yala #bentota #srilankatravel #srilankatrip #srilankatourism

A lovely little collection, and lovely to be featured with one of our favourite hotels in Jaipur!

Just opened in the remote Andaman Islands is the Taj Exotica Resort and Spa - located overlooking Radhanagar Beach - probably the best in India, and has been voted one of the best in Asia. Dive, snorkel, swim, kayak, explore, relax.. Combine with adventures in the Himalayas, or delving into the culture of south India. Go before it’s too late! https://millispotter.com/…/taj-exotica- resort-spa-andaman-…/

We think this is a pretty amazing way to experience the Maldives! Combine two of the best resorts in the Maldives with a private overnight luxury dhoni experience, stopping on a remote sand-bank for the most wonderful private BBQ dinner. Stay in both a beach villa and end up in an over-water bungalow with private pool. https://millispotter.com/itin…/luxury-m aldives-dhoni-cruise/

This is Sethulakhmi, and she is a tea-picker in Munnar in Kerala. She earns 312 rupees a day (about $4) so long as she hands in 28kg of tea leaves a day. She tells us she can earn an extra 1 rupee per kg on top of that. She is out picking from 8am until 5pm, day in day out. When we met her, she was full of smiles and stories and we now think of her each time we sip our tea in the morning with so much respect and admiration!

Push deeper into India's hidden interior. Consider the north-east; tucked in between Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma and Tibet. Home to countless ancient tribes and stunning landscapes, you really feel like you are getting totally off-the-beaten track. Nagaland is almost entirely inhabited by 16 groups of Tibeto-Burmese tribes. Among them are Angamis, Aos, Konyaks, Kukis, Lothas, Semas and Wanchus. The Nagas, who were once head hunters, have been known for their fierceness and the ...regular raids they made on Assam and Burma. The warring tribes believed that since the enemy’s animated soul, the 'waha', was to be found in the neck, it could only be set free once beheaded. In December, the amazing Hornbill Festival takes places in Kohima in Nagaland, and there is a lovely pop-up luxury camp there for you to stay in. Combine with wildlife in Kazaranga, and more remote tribal areas in Upper Assam, where a new interesting collection of boutique hotels have recently opened. This is India at its best - remote, intriguing and utterly spell-binding.

Travel is all about those little unexpected surprises. How about a lazy lunch in Kanha National Park in India, whilst staying at the amazing Flame of the Forest lodge, after setting out on morning safari with your host Karan?

If you are thinking of what to do in the summer, and might not want the do the same-old trip to Europe or North America, you might like the idea of Ladakh in northern India. It doesn't get affected by the monsoon, and you can immerse yourself in the vibrant Buddhist culture set against some of the most breathtaking landscapes on earth. Stay in remote village houses that have been fitted with boutique style rooms, or glamorous luxury tents. For the more adventurous, venture into the remote Nubra Valley. Trek, cycle, white-water raft, explore Tibetan Monasteries and just soak up the magic of this wonderful corner of India. You can combine Ladakh with Sri Lanka or the Maldives for some R&R to end your adventure

It's getting fairly chilly in the UK right now, as the winter sets in. Close your eyes and imagine you're in Sri Lanka, imagine that perfect temperature between the heat of the day and when the sun sets. Imagine a chilled glass of wine in your hand and the giddy feeling of what might be in store tomorrow..

Delve into India's hidden National Parks, and it's not just about seeing a tiger - the jungles and forests are teeming with an eclectic collection of wildlife. Spot leopard, rhino, wild elephant, wolf, countless deer, crocodile, sloth bear and so much more. Stay in lovely boutique lodges, and possibly combine with some cultural highlights such at the Taj Mahal or the moving historic city of Varanasi.

Wishing everyone a happy Diwali. It is the festival of lights, celebrating the triumph of light of darkness, hope over despair and generally good over evil. I'm sure it's something everyone can associate with! Expect to see candles lit and fireworks set off. You light traditional dyas, or oil lamps that allow Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth to enter your home, and doors and windows are left open. Elaborate artwork is created using rice and powder, often in the form of a lotus (as Lakshmi often carries a lotus flower). If you know any Indians, then they will love to receive some sweets, or just wish them the happy Diwali!
