Now THAT'S customer service. I missed the cut off for dinner by 10 minutes because I had been traveling and had a cheeky little kip. Bradley Bow rustled me up a plate of cheese and biscuits on the house. He literally couldn't do enough for me. A credit to his employer, he definitely knows what Customer Service is all about. Outstanding. 5 out of 5. *****

User

My second time back at missenden abbey for afternoon tea. One of the nicest afternoon teas I've experienced. I love that it's different to other venues and come on a personal slate rather than on a cake stand. All the food is fresh and the scones come out warm & melt in your mouth. Tea is refillable as many times as you like. Such great value in such beautiful surroundings. 5**

Lovely afternoon tea to celebrate dad's birthday. Gorgeous scones.

User

Just came here yesterday for a beautiful wedding. Just wanted to say thanks for catering so well for my dairy free husband. He was well attended to all day xx

User

It was my second time visiting this Abbey, the first to a Murder Mystery evening, the second to a wedding fair, both were very well organised.

The Murder Mystery evening was fun and enjoyed a three course meal.

On arrival at the wedding fair we had Bucks Fizz and canapes whilst touring around the inside and outside in the grounds of the Abbey. Too small for the number of guests we will have at the wedding, but loved the marquee, which was light and set out in a beautiful way. The different flower arrangements, cake tasting, looking at photos provoked many things to think about.

11 of us went for afternoon tea on Saturday 20th Jan.The sandwiches were very tasty. Didn't seem a lot for 12 people just 2 plates - 2 sandwiches each - but we just asked for more and the staff were very obliging . Lost count of the pots of tea and coffee that we drank. Scones - all be it small - were warm and tasty. Plenty of clotted cream and jam.

Staff very friendly.

User

Lovely evening. Food was great. Good atmosphere. Everyone really friendly and helpful. Good disco. Bar people were very helpful. Would recommend this place for a Christmas party. Well done and thank you.

User

Great place to stay as it’s cheap, and as a location in which to attend workshops for Bucks New University is ideal. Food is good but the site could really do with having some leisure facilities such as a gym or pool.

User

Beautiful place - lovely atmosphere for a party. Hand buffet good - could not fault it -

The room set up was a bit crammed due to the large chairs which took up a lot of space around tables.

User

I arrived for my, nearly a week stay on Sunday evening. First impressions in the warm evening sun, was of beautiful grounds and a lovely old abbey building with a curved coach house building with fountains and a well tended garden.

Reception was friendly.

As I opened the door on the first room I was given a key for in the coach house building, I realised the bed was not made and the towels were in a pile on the bathroom floor.

The second room I was given was ok, a little tired, marks on the wall etc. Shower room sink was a "hand basin" which was very small with a glass shelf above set very low. This made washing difficult and to stop myself banging my head on it, I got the floor very wet trying to avoid it. The shower was a dribble but workable. As I entered the house and looked for the restaurant, I found it but it was closed for "wedding food tasting"! Had a bar meal, was ok.

Great breakfast menu.

Please fix the plate warmer!!!!!

The plates were cold and breakfast was cold by the time I had sat down to it.

Rooms were nicely equipped and were tended to every day very well. I found that every sound in the hotel corridor, upstairs corridor and other guests rooms was heard at a strangely high volume in my room, as the walls in the coach house are paper thin.

In all, beautiful location, lovely grounds, tired rooms, a more business approach to Weddings and events than attending to guests.

I will be there again, as it is far nicer than any "premier inn" style "box" hotel and the gardens and town close by make it a really great place to be based.

Warm plates please!!!

User

Bought an Afternoon Tea voucher for my mum for her birthday. The cakes and scones were nothing but stale. The service was slow. After not wanting to make a fuss and ruin my mums birthday I didn’t complain when we were there. However, when we left I really wish I had said something so decided to email to make them aware. As of yet, nothing back!
