About Ml&S Martin Lynch & Sons

The World's Favourite Ham Store

Ml&S Martin Lynch & Sons Description

Martin Lynch, The Amateur Radio Exchange Centre was established in September, 1990. Its founder, Martin started buying and selling Ham Radio equipment when he was thirteen years old. Buying surplus gear from rallies, clubs and the old London Ex-Government stores, (those were the days), he always supplemented his "pocket money" to an appreciable level!

Martin quickly got the reputation for trading in the hobby and despite his youthful age, people could trust him with kit that did what he said it would do. At sixteen, Martin joined Racal-BCC (British Communications Corporation), and served a four year engineering apprenticeship. On completing his training he joined the Quality Department, still buying and selling Ham Radio in his spare time.

In 1978 he joined a local Ham Store part time, joining full time in 1980. After proving to himself that customers wanted a company that really cared about them, he started his own business some ten years later. In October 1995, Martin and his wife Jennifer had their first son, named Henry. That's where the "& Son" comes from! The "s" appeared making it Martin Lynch & Sons in 1998, when Daniel, Martin's then 17 year old step-son took his surname.

In 2006, the company still enjoys an enviable reputation world wide for delivering the right goods at the right time at the right price. With the recent accreditation to ISO9001: 2000 QMS, all ML& S customers have the confidence in dealing with a quality orientated company, certified by a worldwide recognized system.

His new HQ in Chertsey has the largest display of Yaesu, Kenwood, Icom, LDG, Palstar and AOR products in Europe, (all backed by the manufacturers), with massive holding stock on site. In addition, Martin also carries a wealth of USED equipment (all checked and fully guaranteed), which can be shipped to any where in the world. Top prices are always paid for top quality used equipment. Please e-mail with your surplus stock. By far the largest single purchaser of Ham Radio for retail in the U. K. , you know that "satisfaction" comes guaranteed when you deal with Martin Lynch & Sons.

The site has been primarily set up to promote all NEW & USED products sold by MARTIN LYNCH & SONS. Any product listed can be shipped to anywhere in the world. We have just received some exciting news from the Echelford ARC. If you are visiting our store on Saturday 14th July 2018, why not make a day of it and visit the Black Cherry Fair in Chertsey. Only 5 minutes down the road from our store.

So here is the news...
... Hi all,
As you will have seen in the newsletter, we have a stall (site 129) at the B.C.F. on Saturday. This is the first public event we have participated in for years, so is a bit of an experiment to say the least!
We are intending to run an HF station and a VHF station, and will be giving certificates out to kids who manage to send their name in morse code on practice oscillators, not on air!
Thanks to James, M0JFP, we have the use of two Special Event Station call-signs - GB4BCF and GB8BCF. I suggest the HF station uses GB4BCF and the VHF station GB8BCF, thus giving people the opportunity of working both.
We'd encourage you to seek us out and work us - on HF we're likely to be on 20m & 40m, on VHF it might be worth listening to the 'club' FM frequency of 145.350 MHz where we can announce what SSB frequency is in use.
If you do find us, perhaps you could 'spot' us on the various clusters. (We’ll do it ourselves if I can find out how!)
I've never been to the B.C.F. even though it's just down the road from me, but I'm led to believe it's very well attended (circa 10,000 people). Parking is free all day in all the council's car-parks, with the exception of the Sainsbury's C.P. which is still Pay & Display.
A procession (theme = 20th Century Heroes) departs at 10.30am and parades around the town, arriving on site around 11 am. The fair runs until 5 pm.
Further info about the fair can be found at http://blackcherryfair.com/
Hope to see some of you there.
