About Momo

Momo Restaurant - An iconic restaurant offering a beautiful array of dishes from North Africa and the Mediterranean.

Momo Description

Salam Aleikum! Welcome to Momo!
Londons original Arabic den

When Parisian-Algerian restaurateur Mazouz arrived in London in 1995, among the first things that he did was look for a place to eat his homey couscous. He couldn’t find any… But his Vespa took him to Heddon Street, at the time a dark semi-abandoned walkway located off Regent Street, in London West End. . . Encompassing Music, Food and Visual aesthetics, Momo Restaurant Familial opened in 1997.
Momo consists of four spaces: restaurant, café, outdoor terrace and basement bar /disco.

Mo Diner :

Marhaba!

Coming soon.

Downstairs at Momo:

Kwānt (the phonetic spelling of 'Quaint') is a relaxed bar with a focus on perfect service and a nod to traditional British elegance. It features subtly tropical decor, furnished with classic Chesterfield sofas and wooden paneling, and reference to African culture through hand painted wall designs by French artist Alain Grandne and interior designer Bambi Sloan.

Service is the best in town, friendly faces with very professional manners, something I feel very strongly about and find rare sometimes in London! Atmosphere also fantastic with a great crowd and wonderful dining... an all round great time to be had at Momo's come rain or shine, day or night! One of my favourite stops in town! Thank you.

My son & I called at Momo yesterday on the off chance that we could get a meal - as it was early the restaurant wasn't open but we were able to sit outside & enjoyed a mezze & glass of wine.

The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff were polite & attentive & the food was amazing. We had five (I think) dishes to share & all of them were delicious - we both loved the bread.

The next time I'm visiting my son in London we'll definitely be going back later in the evening to eat in the restaurant.

My new favourite place to eat.

User

Momo is one of my favorite places in London. The atmosphere is always vibrant and fun, staff are kind and accomodating and the tea is scrumptious. I generally go for tea and sit either inside (shazaming all their tunes) or outside when the weather is nice. I've been to the restaurant which I enjoyed very much and would regularly go downstairs over the weekend for a more exclusive and easy night out instead the usual overcrowded clubs in Mayfair. I would highly recommend to everyone to visit Momo no matter day or time 😊

In the middle of the city, just next to the Icebar. Fantastic food and shisha ❤️ The interior is fabulous. I definitely can recommend this place. Waiters where quick and very friendly. Music was perfect too. I will be back for more soonish 😀

User

I used to work here, 2001, I was happy here and I learned to co-exist with friends from all over the world,.the manager teached me to work with happiness and self-esteem, never servants, but happy and proud workers, I had an accident that summer and they covered me with love, thank u so much always in my heart.

User

I have been in the Cafe on a busy night, had a lovely evening with friends, good drinks, food and atmosphere, Ines was serving us she was very attentive.

Highly recommend this place.

User

I had an amazing afternoon tea with my friend. Everything was so fresh!! Definitely we gonna come back soon !

User

I came here for a friend's Hen Do and it was lovely. We had the afternoon tea and they made me a wonderful vegan version with scones and cream. Amazing! They were kind and considerate and I would highly recommend. Thanks! X

User

I came here for Lunch today, I visited Morocco last year and fell in love with the food there and I can honestly say the food here definitely lived up to that. It was freshly prepared and the flavours were wonderful! The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly and couldn’t provide a better service. The atmosphere and ambience made for a really authentic experience!

Thank you! I’ll definitely be visiting you again! This place is a hidden gemstone!

User

Great bar in the basement, good music and nice cocktails. Amazing ambience and good food. We managed to get a table waiting no more than 10 minutes but the place was absolutely heaving, so I recommend booking beforehand.

User

Beautiful place with a real traditional North African feel tucked away in a beautiful hidden gem that is Heddon Street. The chill area is really gorgeous with traditional memorabilia, beautiful lanterns and hand crafted furnishings. It's a delight to just sit back and take it all in. We truly felt as though we were in a different country both in the chill area and in the restaurant which is more decadent. The cocktails are delicious and the food is amazing! The friendly staff really looked after us and made us feel very welcome. Food in the café is much cheaper than that which is on offer in the restaurant but it's worth it with the 5 star service they greet you with. If you're having a nice chill stick to the café. If you want romance and elegance and to woo your date then you should try the restaurant! Will definitely be back!

User

Amazing ambience Great food well organised staff nothing to say !

User

Our 2nd time to Momo when we’ve visited London. Attentive staff, lovely food. Very noisy last night as some large groups in, but otherwise very good. Down side was how expensive the wine list was! Won’t put me off to visit again.

User

Had one of the best afternoon teas in the cafe - a beautiful fusion of traditional and eastern flavours. Fell in love with their delicious chocolate and harissa spread! The staff were super friendly and service was good. The only tiny thing was the seating. Comfortable stools and chairs but really closely packed together with a narrow aisle in the centre where the staff would be constantly marching up and down. Had to move around a couple of times to get out the way. The first table we sat on we couldn't even fit our knees in!! But shouldn't detract from the amazing afternoon tea!!

User

Bread was delicious! The chicken tagine was slightly too salty but the beef tangia was lovely! The service was great and the atmosphere and decor amazing! However the table was a bit too close to other diners but other than that Momo is great!!

User

The food was wonderful, however the waiter was quite hostile and unpleasant. My friend had a paper bag with a birthday gift in it next to her on the seat and he told her it had to go on the floor. The restaurant was almost empty as it was lunchtime and the table along the wall has barely any floor space at all. He then challenged her when she asked for a coffee and a cold drink and wanted to know which one she would like, seeming annoyed when she said she wanted both. He forgot her side order of couscous, and was nowhere to be seen to ask for it until half way through the meal. When we asked for another drink at the end of the meal he didn't bring one, just the bill, which he put down without a word and walked off. His manner made us both feel unwelcome and uncomfortable so we just paid and left. This was really disappointing and spoilt the whole experience as the food itself was lovely.

User

Good place and oriental decorations but the waiters were unwelcoming except Nasra who was nice and helpful

User

We came as a group of 17 ladies but one didnt showed up but they still charged 17 plus we want it to order ala cart but they dont serve ala cart for the group although they have ala cart menu. And the price was not worthy as the food served. Way too expensive. We all unhappy when we're out of there!

User

Been here often. Usually much better but this trip wasn’t great. Service poor. Ordered 2 martinis and they were warm. When we asked for new ones they just brought us ice. Has put us off the place a bit. There was a bigger party in and just felt like they didn’t care if we were there or not.
