Very very good service. Warm and friendly welcome and got a table straight away and then our waitress was superb. Very friendly and nice. Food was quick and very tasty.

I’v been to beefeater before only for drinks. This time I ordered lunch for my wife and myself of our choice and waited for it to arrive a little longer than normal but was enjoyable. It was a nice hot lunch.

We had two lots of the Sunday beef which rather than being slices were chucks, which was undercooked and sent back

Gammon steak was not hot when served but chicken meal was fine

Took 40 mins to arrive but we were in no rush

Service was polite which is why we gave it a good rating.

Need to open up both doors as single door too tight for most wheelchairs

We were last here with a party of 15+ and this visit only 4 people and last visit went well so little disappointed with this visit but lovely setting & staff so will give it another chance

First time there as it was recommended. Food was really lovely but the service was really slow, although all the staff were friendly. Toilets were not monitored as they were dirty.

Unfortunately it was not a good experience. I took my daughter out for dinner as commiseration for being made redundant that day. Friday 26th January. The upstairs seating area was very cold. Many diners sat with coats on and as we had been seated near a window I had to ask to be moved. The lighting was also very bad. Once ordered our drinks took ages to be brought.



My daughter ordered the steak , medium rare with no tomato , but it arrived nearer to well done sporting a large tomato on top. We sent it back requesting medium Rare. I had the bbq ribs which were well cooked , but the coleslaw portion was minimal and the skinny fries were half cooked and luke warm. I had to ask for condiments too.



By the time my daughters steak was produced for the second time I was more than half way through my meal. The second steak was only marginally better than the first and still had the tomato on it. By that time she was too hungry to wait again.



We tried to have the hot drink and mini pudding, but that also failed. The puddings arriving well before the drinks. My Bakewell tart tasted like it had just been defrosted and had a heavy texture. When the drinks did turn up my daughters cappaccino was more like a latte and my tea was stewed. This was probably due to 2 huge tea bags in a small pot being left for ages while the coffee was made.



As you can imagine, this was not the uplifting end to a sad day that I was hoping for.

There were 15 of us including kids. Service was extremely poor. Very disappointed with the menu, only 2 veggie options. Waited forever to order and food took ages to arrive. Portion size was tiny and food cooked to a crisp. A lot of money spent for a very special occasion so disappointed that we will not be returning there

It took 10 minutes to get one drink. The bar lady that served very cold not a please or thank you looked like she hated being there.and through my change on the bar. Over the top unfriendly. Don't think I'll be returning.

Don’t waste your money- even during a quiet evening (29th December )the service was slow and food was just about luke warm. A lot of food from the menu wasn’t available and we weren’t made aware of this until ordering - any decent restaurant would advise you when you sit down to choose your food!

We weren’t offered any condiments for our main meal and had to request these... even then I think they went to the shop to buy them judging on the amount of time it took the waitress to return! The waitress didn’t ask if we needed any more drinks during our meal or even if our food was okay.

The red wine we ordered was ice cold and had to be replaced. This place has definitely gone down hill! Won’t be back..

Worst place I’ve been in while. Service was awful, had to wait almost an hour for food. Meals came out cold, sides & starter came out after main meal & were wrong. Manager was not interested only excuse was that it was busy outside (restaurant was empty). Pointless having drink refills as there was no one to refill them. Won’t be coming back in a hurry totally disappointed.

Very disappointed!!!!! Have eaten here many times and always enjoyed it. Came today for a special occasion as it was my little boys 6th birthday. However today was awful! The service was very poor and extremely slow, had been there an hour before our food finally came out.... then one meal had to get sent back and two were just about edible....My side and fries arrived after I had finished my dinner! I had a refill coke which was pointless as no one around to re fill it. We couldn’t face hanging around for pudding, will not be returning in a hurry.

Not all menus were given and when we asked about the set menu we were told 'they didn't do that' when we knew they did from the website. We couldn't have pudding as half 9 is far too late for a 3, 7 and 9 year old to be eating. Will not be returning!

Just left this place having been there 20 mins trying to find a pleasant enough place to eat...the building is so lovely such a shame beefeater aren’t keeping it clean! There is rubbish everywhere in the gardens, the toilets were the same, clearly neither have been touched following the weekend. Such a shame as I say lovely setting and park for the kids. Staff took so long also just to come and give us menus. Will not be visiting this place again until it has a change of owners.

It makes me sad to have to leave a one star review but I can do little else due to the very disturbing time my friend and I had there yesterday! We sat outside and read that we couldn’t have the meal for £6 as we wanted to sit outside next to the river and the ducks. My friend went to pay with her card and the card was declined! Three times this happened and the bar lady had the audacity to say it was my friends card or bank. My friend knew it wasn’t her card or her bank so she rang them and they told her it was the restaurants internet!! Not a word of apology or offers of compassion. No she was told to go to a cash point and get the cash or no lunch. She comes from Devon where incidentally she manages a 3.5 million holiday and leisure complex with gold awards,and I’m disabled, we would have absolutely no idea where to find a cash point. The whole incident was extremely embarrassing and if it wasn’t for us finding a bit of cash in my car, we wouldn’t have been able to have anything for lunch! I wonder what has happened to ‘the customer is always right ‘,statement?!! It was supposed to be a lovely end to a wonderful visit but I’m afraid it really was a damp squib to another wise fabulous time. The waitress concerned even had to almost pushed by a colleague to say sorry to my friend. Moor Mill just isn’t the beautiful fabulous place it was and that makes me very sad!

I would have given this place 0 stars if there was the option, which is a real shame as it is a beautiful setting. Clueless staff. Dreadful service. Smelly interior. Sticky surfaces everywhere. On 2 separate occasions I waited 15 minutes to be served with a drink; this was usual I was assured by a local. We arrived at 4.30 and were told it would be 9.00 before they would be able to accommodate us in the restaurant. I am so glad they did as we ordered from a local takeaway and twenty minutes later ate some far superior food in the comfort of their beer garden - naughty I know but when needs must. They need to train staff to take more pride in their place of work. On several occasions the waiting staff brought items outside but didn't take any of the dirty plates back - It became amusing to watch. If ever you're in the area, I would advise you to avoid this shambolic place.

I am normally impressed with Beefeater experiences however tonight left a lot to be desired, we were seated efficiently an our drinks order taken, before ordering food it went down hill swiftly the majority of chicken dishes on the standard menu ha ran out. The food order took far to long to arrive and when it did firstly mine had to go back as the order was not correct, Both dishes the food was warm at best, the seabass might not have been cooked properly we actually finished quite and left as this made my colleague feel physically ill.

Hubby’s burger was ok but the open steak sandwich I had was dreadful.....really tough meat....not enjoyable at all....thank goodness for the fries otherwise I’d have gone hungry.
