Yes usually excellent until I wanted to return a baby walker that is faulty! This was proven in the shop. I bought this last year for my new grandson and because he had been ill, it had not been used. I have no proof of purchase not even on the e-mails so I either shredded the receipt or misplaced it. I have never had any problems with anything I have bought in there and having over years probably spent a few thousand pounds no one can help. So disappointed in Mothercare it has mothercare all over it but still need proof of purchase!! They have lost my custom!!

Visited your store today including the soft play area. soft play area is lovely and clean and the children can come in and out to get a drink etc. The girl on the desk was lovely and friendly. Spoke to a lady about car seats downstairs who was very helpful in giving advise.

Thank you Stewart at @MothercareRomford for excellent level of knowledge about car seats and exceptional customer service in helping us figure out what's wrong with the seat we have installed in our car. Turns out the base is not compatible with our car model - we had no idea! If you ever need to buy a car seat - ask for Stewart. He knows his stuff!

Good morning, your staff are excellent - always so friendly and helpful but I cannot tell you how disappointed I am about the planned closure of Mumspace. It is a monumental shame. It is such a community hub and it also perplexes me from a business point of view. Your location in Romford isn't "walk-to friendly" and it's a car journey I only make to attend classes at Mumspace. I and many of my mummy mates always stop to have a coffee afterwards and to buy clothes etc. Trade that will cease with the Mumspace closure. I read in the Romford Recorder that there will be a new 'community hub' space, but the fact that it cannot accommodate the many much loved classes that take place there severely overshadows that. Yours, very disappointedly, Clare Smith

Went to Mothercare Romfords re-opening today, the store looks brilliant and i noticed lots of new brands. They had appearances from peppa and george pig, which seemed to be slightly unorganised and alot of people were moaning, however the peppa and george actually looked like the 'real' peppa and george and not the cheapy ones you hire for bday parties etc so that was a bonus. No child likes queuing so there's obviously going to be tantrums, it was the adults causing the most fuss tbh! There were staff giving out bottled water, free face painting, balloons, discount vouchers, and i love the new hair salon there where they were offering free haircuts. My daughter sat and played in the seat decked out as a car and watched peppa whilst having her first haircut! I didnt check out the toilets but im hoping theyve also been refurbished also as they were terrible last time i had to use them. Over all i always have a good experience in mothercare Romford!

Just wanted to say a big thank you to one of the lovely car fitting ladies who helped me pick out my car seat for my newborn! My baby brain has made me forget her name (she had dark hair and 2 children of her own called Charlie and Ella?) but she was so lovely, knowledgeable and really patient answering all my questions. She helped me talk through my decisions on 2 car seats and I felt I made the right choice on what can be very hard and overwhelming choices. Thanks again

Good afternoon, I was in your store today, as always the staff are very polite, friendly and helpful but I'm afraid I'm very unsatisfied With the toilet facilities. The women's toilets are unclean and have no toilet paper, one cubicle is locked for no reason and generally they are unclean and smelly. The baby changing are no better. Disabled toilet was also locked due to being out of order, so really there is only 1 toilet in use. Being a big store like yourselves you would expect better cleanliness as your customers are mainly mothers and children. I do come into your store quite a lot and they are normally always this way, it would be nice if someone could over see that they are checked regularly and abit cleaner. Sorry I am not normally one to complain but feel as i am a regular customer that you should know. It would be lovely to hear something back, thankyou. Michelle and baby shae.

The staff has to work on being more friendly and helpful.I went to Mothercare this morning and was waiting in the queue for ages, the lady at the was chatting not even bothering to say sorry I'm busy actually, when I ask if there be someone else at the next till she was actually so rude and send me to another till .That lady at the till wasn't helpful at all ,not even mentioned they have 3 for 2 offer on Elc outdoor toys which I purchased but the 3 one was not in the offer. So very disappointed with customer service. Not really recommend it.

Not enough people to ask questions. Only very pricy things on display, like push chairs and car sits. No quality monitors in stock to look at. Staff don't know products that are on display, cot beds. Not priced properly. Too much stuff in between shelves- could not walk properly. Very disappointed.

You go into this store entrusting your babies life's to them. We went in last Saturday waited over 45 mins to be served as buying a new car seat for our 10month old. I was surveys by a man with earrings and very sticky hair which management believes to be called Ricky. He Told us the next car seat that fitted our two way Iso fix base was front or rear facing but as as 10month old was over 9kg could now sit forward facing. Thank god he ordered us the wrong seat so I had to go back into store as this information is completely incorrect!!!!!! Jodie was amazing told me all the right information and checked that the car seat fitted both ways in the car and showed me the recline feature. Plus gave me the safety paper work. Non of which the other employee had show us or checked.

Plus given us completely the wrong information that could have courses serous injures to our babie if god forbid we had crashed.

After speaking to a manager we had to pay Extra as he had also messed up the pricing which was not my fault! maybe management should rethink their training and also customer service. There seems to be a lot of staff wondering around not really doing much. In the end I spoke to five different people (2 mangers and three team members) and was in the store 1.5hours.

My advice to any one who has brought a car seat and be served by this man is go back into store and get Jodie to re check it. It is not worth risking!!!

What a joke this event was today, so unorganized, such a shambles. What's the point in giving people tickets numbers and then telling them go go down and que with another 100 people and then offering a measly 10% discount on your next purchase. Managers didn't have a clue what to do!!!

The salon in the store is terrible! The worst customer service ever! I had an appointment and was literally 2 minutes late and I rang in to say I would be a few minutes late. When I got there, the employee looked in my direction with a dirty look and ignored me. Both employees ignored me for 5 minutes and then asked me if I was ok. I told her I had an appointment and she said "well I'm going to end up going home 5 minutes later now so I can't do it" and she was not fussed at all! She was so rude and did not even try to fit us in (I was literally 2 minutes late). Then the other employee said she was the one who spoke to me on the phone and she basically lied about the time I rang in. I showed her my phone history as proof that she was lying and she didn't have anything to say then as I rang before the appointment. Even then they did not apolagise or try to fit my son in or even be helpful in any way. The lady was not a professional at all. Never going to shortcuts again or romford mothercare as they are allowing this disgrace of a worker to carry on working there even though there has been more complaints against her apparently

Terrible customer service!!! I was waiting in the buggy area for 30 mins still no one came to help!

User

My experience in this store was unbelievable! I went to buy my oyster buggy with my partner and they wasn't in stock in the black frame so we ordered on line at the till I went back a few days later to collect the buggy. The store was being referb so was hectic enough I had to try and find the click and collect desk where I was greeted (if you can call it greeted) by 2 young boys one with his coat on and a bag across him not looking ready for work at all asking for my name. They couldn't make up there mind who was actually working but never the less both wondered off to find my parcel after I stood waiting watching in disbelief. Then he said "sign here" and one of them ask the other "are you going to help her out with the box bare in mind I'm heavy pregnant clearly visable huge bump and his reply was simply "Na"!! To my shock I picked up my extremely heavy box and tried my best to lug it to my car and find the clearest route out of the shop as the stock was all over due to the refurb total appauled buy the service. I and my patner will never be shopping in mothercares again! I even called to make a complaint at head office not even a simple reply with a sorry after spending a lot of money I wish I had taken my business else where!

Me & my friend took our little boys to

See Peppa pig last Thursday and what a shamble! Really unorganised, staff was very rude which is always the case there. Yes the event was free but doesn't give the right to be rude. Shop looks great but the costa being upstairs is really out the way now for a buggy user!!!! Always dissoiponted in this store (Mothercare)

Had too many incidents here won't be coming anymore!!!!

In my opinion I did not feel like I was helped much because they made me feel like the problem with my car seat was down to my child being overweight for it (which she is far from it) one of the staff members kept looking at my child as we were walking to the car and said oh 'she is quite long'...and then when she was checking the car seat said oh she may be over weight for it...the weight it can go up to is 18kg...she is only 13kg!!!!! This really upset me as they did not have any idea as to why the car seat is not working...just assumed it was becuase of her weight!!!!! i left very disappointed as they couldn't be of any help. Think before you purchase a car seat from Mothercare Romford! The rest of the staff may not be that bad...bt my experience with these two staff members...was very bad!

I visited this store back in July to purchase a car seat for my daughter. I asked a number of times for a staff member to help me and was just left standing there for about 15 minutes. When I went to ask them again to help I got told they were too busy. When I spoke to the manager of the store all she could say was that they were busy and I would need to wait. I found all the staff very rude and unhelpful. The reason why I am only writing about this now is that I tried to log a complaint through the site and never got a reply back. The when I sent another email all they replied back was to say that they don't usually come back to the customer. I find this very bad customer service especially a customer that has spent a great deal of money with them over the year and half. I will no longer shop in this store and I will advise any of our nursery or NTC friend to steal clear as well. Such a shame
