Ms. Alero Awala - Consultant Gynaecologist

I trained at the University of Benin, Nigeria and was granted MBBS in 1990. I was awarded CCST in 2005 in the Southwest Deanery and have worked here in Watford General since 2008 in my current role as lead for Emergency gynaecology and Early Pregnancy services.

My background is in reproductive medicine and I was awarded a master’s degree in human reproduction and Development by the University of Bristol in 2004 and completed the 2 special skills modules awarded by the RCOG in Assisted Conception and Management of the infertile couple.

I am also trained in minimal access surgery and early pregnancy and gynaecology scanning (both 2 D and 3 D scanning). I was also awarded a certificate in medical education by the University of Bristol in 2008. I also have a particular interest in the management of PCOS and adolescent gynaecology.
