I'm very sad to announce that because of circumstances beyond my control that Music's Not Dead will be closing mid September, it's been a wonderful 7 years and we'd like to thank everyone that's supported us over that time, our loyal customer's and all the wonderful bands who've come down to Bexhill to play.. we'll still be stocking new releases until September and will still be taking orders for the next few weeks and of course having a big sale (details soon).... thanks everyone

Delighted to welcome back the amazing Jason Mcniff for a special instore to celebrate the release of his new album 'Joy & Independence" Jason McNiff is a guitar picker and folk/country influenced songwriter. His first album was called 'Off the Rails' and came out of a residency at London's 12 bar club in 1999-2000 where he had been spotted by Bert Jansch's brother-in-law, Chris Kidson. Chris ran a label called Snowstorm which was to go on to release a further two albums, 2003...'s 'Nobody's Son' and a compilation, 'In My Time' in 2008. In 2011 he was picked up by Fledg'ling records, an offshoot of Topic, for his album 'April Cruel' and in 2014 he formed a folk rock band, the Lone Malones, with whom he made a record called 'God Knows Why We Dream'. In all, McNiff has made 6 albums plus a two disc compilation, 'Rain Dries your Eyes' which came out in 2017. He has worked with Andy Allan, Hank dogs, Grand Drive, Alan Tyler, and recorded with Emma Tricca for a 6 track EP entitled 'Southern Star. His new album, entitled 'Joy and Independence', sees McNiff go back to his troubadour roots of one voice one guitar. It will be released on 27th July, 2018. Jason has been nominated for best Alt. Country album at the Independent Music Awards in the US and received rave reviews for his music.

We're so delighted that Gwenifer Raymond is coming to play Music's Not Dead on Saturday 04th August at 3pm Gwenifer Raymond is a Welsh multi-instrumentalist, originally from Cardiff but now residing in Brighton, England. Gwenifer began playing guitar at the age of eight shortly after having been first exposed to punk and grunge. After years of playing around the Welsh valleys in various punk outfits she began listening more to pre-war blues musicians as well as Appalachian fo...lk players, eventually leading into the guitar players of the American Primitive genre. She has since been playing her own moody and often-times manic original American Primitive styled compositions on guitar and banjo around the UK and the US.

Top shop, run by top fellas. Great records, great customer service

The single greatest record shop in the world. I only wish I could get to it more often to browse the racks and catch more of the in store live music.

My husband & I adore music and love to go to visit Del & Rich at Music's not Dead for inspiration. Their friendly, knowledgeable chat invariably introduces us to new bands or helps us to revisit old favourites.They are revitalising the music scene in Bexhill, working in partnership with the DLWP and promoting new bands, both there and live in the shop. Steven Wilson performs wearing one of their iconic T shirts - a great endorsement of the best record store in the world!

My first visit today, purely by accident. Destination was De La Warr Pavilion but stumbled across this great shop. Fantastic selection of vinyl and genuinely interested guys running the shop. I will be making many more visits and purchases.

My favourite indie - great selection of music, good value, friendly folks and they host top notch in-store events. Really recommend you go see a band play there.

I can't visit one of my favourite locations in the UK, whether for work or leisure, without popping in this gem of a place. A wealth of music knowledge and great hospitality from behind the counter, two great fellas. Always a decent drive home if I've bagged a bit of vinyl, and had a chin wag about all things music ���

Have become more like friends than salesmen. Not only is there always new and interesting music to buy, there is a cracking range of posters, t-shirts, books, record players etc etc. You'll normally get a cup of tea or coffee while you browse at your leisure too. Many instore's and signings (Steven Wilson and Steve Hackett for god's sake). Also putting on great shows at various interesting venue's. Bloody brilliant!! (you can put my cheque in the mail guys) :)

Great shop found at the end of a very long Charity Shop trawl, needless to say the spanking new vinyl made a slightly larger dent, but I'm listening now and it was well worth it! Superb stock and very knowledgable and approachable staff!

First time visit and for RSD. They had a good variety of stock. Staff were really lovely and enthusiastic (and they make an awesome pear and chocolate cake which they gave out free to us in the queue). Highly recommended and I will visit again next time I'm in the area. Keep up the good work guys x
