Muswell Hill is a friendly club offering a wide selection of activities to beginners as well as experts. Our members range in age from 10 to 95 and from novices to those with gradings about 200. A great number of our players are in the 130 strength range. We are one of the few clubs in London who hold a yearly all-play-all chess championship; this offers 12 clock games against players with a wide range of abilities. We have three teams in the Middlesex League, our first team (8 boards), which is at present in Division 1, an Under 160 team (4 boards) and an Under 140 team (4 boards). Each season we hold a Blitz Championship and a Christmas Blitz, a Find the Move competition, and our Club has a chess lending library available to all members.

We meet every Thursday from 7pm to 10: 30pm at Tetherdown United Reformed Church Hall, between September and May.
