What a great day for MyHealthcare! Today Dr Akash, Dr Stephanie and receptionist Emma delivered our first offsite healthscreens for a local company. This involved doing some physical measurements, taking a comprehensive panel of blood tests and administration of the flu vaccine. Each employee will then receive an email from one of the GP’s going through their results and any advice. An exciting venture for the team and something we hope to do more of in the future. This week we have a super easy recipe for you: Sausage and Broccoli Carbonara. A satisfying bowl of pasta to tuck into after a long day! * Ingredients: (serves 2) 150g tagliatelle or pasta of choice 2 garlic cloves, crushed... 2 tbsp olive oil 3 good quality sausages, meat squeezed out and rolled into balls Half head of broccoli, broken into florets 2 eggs 25g parmesan cheese, grated Chopped parsley * Method: 🍝 Cook the pasta in a pan of boiling salted water according to the instructions on the pack 🍝 Add the broccoli for the last few minutes and drain, reserving a cup of the cooking water 🍝 Gently fry the sausage meatballs in the olive oil until golden and cooked through 🍝 Add the garlic to the sausage meatballs and fry gently for a minute being sure not to burn it 🍝 Add the cooked broccoli, mix together and add the cooked pasta 🍝 Mix together the eggs and Parmesan and toss this mixture through the pasta. The sauce will thicken. Welcome to our new look Manic Monday recipe series! Today is an easy, healthy and delicious Korean Chicken Thigh recipe. It uses gochujang paste which is a sweet smokey chilli paste which has a mild chilli hit. Easily available online and in most good supermarkets. * Ingredients: (serves 2) 4-6 boneless chicken thighs (depending on how hungry you are!) 2 tbsp gochujang 1 tbsp light soy sauce ... 1 tbsp sesame oil 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped 1 tbsp honey Garnish: 2 spring onions, finely sliced * 🍗 Mix the gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and honey in a small bowl 🍗 Place the chicken in a resealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over.
