National Surgical Symposium

THE NATIONAL SURGICAL SYMPOSIUM
The National Surgical Symposium (NSS) is a prominent scientific meeting held to celebrate exciting, ground-breaking and innovative surgical research. This year’s event will be hosted at the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons of England, London.
The NSS was founded and nurtured into a national resounding success by a small committee of surgical trainees, foundation doctors and medical students. The committee works in partnership with DAtE (Do...ctors Aspiring to Excellence), a volunteer educational organisation. Together we strive to provide a forum for informative discussion, and opportunity to network with experts in the field, both nationally and internationally. Our aim is to support the dissemination of work and enhance overall standards in surgical research.
The NSS has been organised by trainees, for trainees. There are numerous opportunities for those interested in exhibiting their work to an enthusiastic and friendly audience. The NSS is a fantastic platform for clinicians, researchers, scientists and students to showcase their work or learn how to get involved in academic surgery.

SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT
DEADLINE: 31st August 2013
We invite abstracts to be submitted from foundation doctors, trainees, scientists, and medical students across all ten surgical specialities. All abstracts will be peer-reviewed and only the highest calibre will be accepted for presentation.
... Presenters will be given the opportunity to compete for the NSS Speaker Prize (awarded to the best delivered oral presentation), and the NSS Poster Prize (awarded to the best poster).
We accept abstracts summarising audits, clinical or lab-based research, pilot-projects, case reports, systematic reviews and meta-analysis.
