Tomorrow's Toddler Tuesday theme is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Find fruit and veggies to feed him in the Farmhouse garden and make a painted butterfly to take home. Relax with a cuppa in the cafe and hear this favourite tale. Free activity, drop in at the cafe between 10am-12noon bit.ly/2v33KXL

Wow - what an amazing day. I don't usually post on fb but this is such a fantastic place that I have to share it. I took my 79 year old Mum for a treat and we were lucky enough to be given a guided tour by Scott, who treated us with such kindness and showed us places we would never have discovered on our own. My Mum has Parkinson's disease and life can be restrictive but this trip exceeded all expectations (there were no restrictions)! My Mum was blown away by the whole experience and we will always remember this beautiful day. Thank you to all the lovely people at NT Stowe and in particular to Scott for the special memory you have given us. We will definitely visit again.

Wonderful place, have been twice and enjoyed both times. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Take the dog, she loves it also. Some dog owners give others a bad name by not being responsible, just the same as some parents give others a bad name by letting their children run amok. Room for everyone xx

User

We live in Brackley and love popping over for a wander around! Kids love having a good run and coffee shop is fab for afterwards too!

User

This was the 1st time I've been here. When you come up the long drive and see the big archway you know this could be a good place. How wrong was I it was fantastic. You definitely need more than a day to explore everywhere. This is one National Trust I'll be visiting again especially as it is only an hours drive and it comes as a highly recommended place to visit.

Our daughter and son in law have bought us membership for our anniversary. We came to Stowe and walked the grounds and had lunch. It was great

User

Lovely gardens with fabulous views. The grotto is very atmospheric, a little spooky! Plenty of places to sit and just relax. Nice tea room. All staff very pleasant and helpful. Would certainly recommend a visit here and I will be going again soon.

User

Loved it very beautiful place to vist

User

In my opinion Stowe has the best gardens in the country to visit, we have enjoyed them on endless occasions. I have a question which has been bugging me for a while. On previous visits to Stowe Gardens, when approaching the gardens along Bell Gate Drive, sited in the small wooded area close to Bell Gate entrance there were a series of rather attractive carvings. There was a circle of mushrooms and carved seats which have now disappeared. I was wondering why these carvings have been removed from this appropriate setting.

User

I'd say Stowe is about as dog friendly as the national trust gets. It's a good place for an on lead dog walk. Lovely, interesting and well cared for site. Decent walks; they are in circuits so you can go as far or short as required. Plenty of seating areas to take in the sites. Plenty of discretely place doggy bins.

Can take dog into gift shop.

Places to tie up pups (within eyeline) outside cafe just while you grab a your food to sit outside and some seating under an awning.

User

I visited Stowe very recently, on my way home from Stratford-Upon-Avon, only because one of the other gardens en route home had a late opening time and I didn't have the time to wait. I am so pleased to have gone to Stowe instead. What a fantastic place ! Lots to see. Statues, temples, quirky buildings and sculptures hidden amongst the trees and shrubs. The amazing landscape by Capability Brown which include lakes of course. Wherever you turn, there is something new to see and it is so picturesque. Never a dull moment. If you enjoy walking and have young kids, it is ideal, as you can hunt for the statues and enjoy a long walk at the same time. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers at Stowe for keeping it looking so lovely. You do a great job !

User

I loved the gardens and the political history represented within. The garden tour guide was fantastic. I would definitely recommend renting a golf cart to tour the gardens, as it is a huge area to cover on foot in one day.

User

I contacted the park few weeks back via email regarding a proposal idea. Scott Parker who is the Commercial Operations Manager at the park was very responsive to the emails and was very keen to help me see my plan through. As this was going to be a surprise for my other half, he was very helpful in ensuring that we had everything prepared on the day of the proposal. Scott went above and beyond his duty to give us amazing hospitality. On the day of the proposal Scott was very hands on in ensuring everything was perfect for us on the day.

Everything was flawless from giving us a tour of the place to giving background history of the park. The staff at the front desk were also very lovely and happy to help.

The Park itself is something very special, the different locations within the park are breathtaking and perfect for pictures. Highly recommend the location as it's one of the best I've been to and made even more special by staff members such as Scott Parker. Highly recommend for a great day out for couples, families or a private peaceful tour. Will definitely visit again in the near future.

User

I cannot believe I had never been here until Saturday! The place is beautiful, there is so much to see. The staff were very friendly. we did not visit the house on this visit but intend to visit again and again.

User

Had a fabulous day in Stowe Park today 14.5.18 weather was incredibly sunny and warm, we will have to go back as still so much to explore, take a picnic... many places to sit and enjoy, just beautiful

User

Great day out. Took our 3 dogs who also loved exploring the various areas of the estate. Lots of parking. Lovely facilities. Weather was just perfect for a picnic too. As it was a weekend we expected it to be fairly busy but once we'd walked past the lake area we rarely passed anyone else it was so peaceful. We'll definitely be back. Getting our NT membership has given us some lovely days out. Photos from the day in the comments below.

User

Amazing place with so much to see out in the fresh air! I loved the way the monuments were in their own space and not cluttered with lots of texts & notices. I'm sure it didn't look much different two hundred years ago.

User

Absolutely fantastic family day out here today. The lady that greeted us at the new inn was so welcoming and informative giving us a bit of history and top picks to see. The buggy’s can take you to and from the main entrance which we used on the way back and the lady was also very pleasant. The site is very clean and looked after with information on the different buildings and statues throughout the estate. Lots of lovely picnic spots and shady walks in the hot weather or shelters in wet weather where you can just enjoys the many different spectacular views. Definitely one of the best national trust places we have visited so far.

User

We enjoyed our first visit to Stowe on Saturday 19 May. Parking was easy and close to the entrance. Staff greeted us at the New Inn and gave us a map and some info about Stowe. We used the toilets just inside the entrance, which were clean and tidy, then started to walk down towards the gardens. We hadn't gone far when Scott Parker drove along in his golf buggy and stopped and picked us up. He was so friendly and helpful. He chatted about things to see and places to sit. He took us to a beautiful secluded spot with a waterfall which was a beautiful, peaceful place to enjoy our picnic. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking or just sitting admiring the beautiful views that Stowe has to offer. On our way out we bumped into Scott again who was keen to see what we had thought of our visit and we told him what a great time we had had. He certainly is an asset to Stowe - friendly, helpful and clearly passionate about the place!

User

Beautiful gardens. Had a lovely afternoon walking around discovering all the statues and temples. Shame the house wasn't open and is not national trust. Limited toilet facilities for such a large open space so just need to plan your journey round to ensure you don't get caught out especially if hot weather and drinking lots of fluids! Really do recommend a visit. Stunning photo opps and volunteer staff on entrance were really helpful. Make sure you get a map so as not to miss any of the great sights
