Chuffed our project #TheBallerina has made it onto the #ParkTheatre's #ScriptAccelerator2018 #shorlist. Fingers crossed, everyone!

He is currently directing Unicorn (Theatre N16), Associate Director on Bismillah! An ISIS Tragicomedy (Pleasance Theatre) and Assistant Director on The Three Musketeers (The Actors Church). In addition to an extensive list quite a list of directing and associate directing credits (Katzpace, Upstairs At The ...Gatehouse, Leicester Square Theatre, Bridewell, Edinburgh Fringe, Park Theatre, The Hat Factory, VAULT Festival, Finborough Theatre...), he has designed the sound for Hindle Wakes (Upstairs At The Gatehouse), Pravda, Our Town, Road (Bridewell), An Enemy Of The People, Under The Blue Sky, The Night Heron (Theatro Technis). If you caught some #rehearsal action earlier today on #Insta & #Twitter, you won't be surprised to learn that Josh is our amazing #FightChoreographer for the show, as a few scenes need a bit of attention... Josh is a fight director for Stage and Screen, and co-founder of Strike Fight Company. He trained for 3 years at East 15, developing a knack fo...r telling character and story through staged violence.
As we chatted a bit afterwards, we thought we'd share some of the debrief with you lovely lot:
1. Challenges: "...never done the water boarding before! That was fun. Had to come up with lots of physical signals to indicate when things were happening as the bag also restricted visibility, and so getting all that across and allowing the actors to do the stunt with confidence was a challenge they rose to with gusto."
2. Team Ballerina: "...the actors were brilliant and Anoushka Bonwick was clear about what she wanted, making sure at all times the violence suited the character's intentions. She really threw herself into the moves we were creating and never held back from an idea that seemed a little out there. Absolutely loved it!
